Have to agree, ramp test are invaluable to run to get your optimal focal distance. My 38/80 is 5.5 distance. So just don't go from his settings because mine are just a little different from their machine using the same 2 inch lense. Because I know this will get asked I will go ahead and do it. Was those cuts on the cherry one or two passes?
I would. The auto focus on the thunder may be slightly off. We don’t use auto focus we manually focus. Once you figure out the optimal distance you can adjust the auto focus

you got to do a ramp test. Don't trust the numbers they give you when you bought it.

I would say now that you are correct. Making sure you have a proper focal distance will ensure the test card is more accurate
