- Sorry I haven't been as active. We had a family member who died because of COVID-19. Not gonna say who, but I have taken a little break. Still sad, but doing better. I hope that all of you are staying safe, you never know that the time you spent with someone could be your last. Please stay safe.

Reach for the steam
Reach for the whistle
Go where the rails may run
Reach for the words
Reach for the story
Follow the rainbowed sun
To the Shining Time Station
Where dreams come true
Waiting there for you
Memories, childhood visions
That have long since passed
They may come and they may go
But they will always last
At the Shining Time Station
Your dreams are alive
Waiting for you to arrive
So much to see
So far to travel
So much to learn
To know
Friends by your side
Hopes to hold onto
Who knows how far you’ll go?
To the Shining Time Station
Your dreams will come true
Your own imagination
Waiting there for you
I always thought the first verse was "go where the rail main runs".
So nostalgic!! So many memories with this show. Just loved it
I never got the chance to watch the show until a few years ago.
🥲 I’m not crying you’re crying 🥲 it’s not tears, it’s the steam from the trains at the station that are making my eyes watery! 🥲
Brings back a lot of good memories.
Agreed!
It does Would watch this every Saturday morning on a tiny 12 inch 1970' TV, the TV is long gone but am so glad I was able to watch this, shame that quality family programming like this is no more.
@@CK2012 Me too, bud. I agree.
This is a great video! So sorry to hear of your loss of a family member from COVID-19. I've lost 3 coworkers and my ex-girlfriend to COVID-19.
So sorry about that.
@@TrainGuru Thank you. It's been tough. I've a had rough time in these last 18 months, but hopefully things get better.
One of the most beautiful themes ever. Even as a kid, this theme got me feeling emotional and wistful for a happy, peaceful, magical far off place. Hearing it still brings a tear to my eye and makes me long for more simple, happy times.
I watched shining time station with my son's at my former mother in-laws house. My oldest passed away away on September 28 2021 of pneumonia related to COVID. He was severely autistic, and I honestly believe his inability to communicate how he was feeling led to his passing. His younger brother survived covid and I'm thankful for that. I asked myself why a one hour version, and I see the answer is simple. It's for this. Thank you.
As someone who is on the spectrum, I feel you pain. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are doing better.
I only grew up with the DVD’s of ttte but it was so nostalgic to see the Union Pacific’s most famous locomotive in this show for ttte lovers in America who liked it and this train
Edit: I saw it last night this day
I love this song and show bringing tears to my eyes I want to sing this in my music class
thank you for this its very calming made my day :)
You're very welcome! 😇
I want MeTV to air Shining Time Station so bad.....
After the following shows:
Toon In With Me from 7AM to 8AM before Shining Time Station from 8AM to 9AM (would replace Leave It to Beaver that is currently airing during that hour)
Saturday Morning Cartoons from 7AM to 10AM with Saturday Matinees from 10AM to 2PM replacing Westerns which are currently airing during those hours (Pete Smith Specialties, Robert Benchley Miniatures, Crime Does Not Pay, Fitzpatrick Traveltalks), Green Acres from 2PM to 3PM before Shining Time Station airs from 3PM to 6PM
Sunday Night Cartoons from 8PM to 11PM before Shining Time Station airs at 11PM to Midnight.
That's a beautiful Union Pacific 8444.
This is absolutely amazing. This is such a nostalgia from my childhood. THANK YOU!
He's a doer, he's a dreamer, he's absolutely Schemer.
Please hold:
Although I have not seen Shining time station, this song reminds me of when I saw the 11th season of Thomas and Friends in 2013, that was the last time that season passed in my country and that song, although it has never happened in my country, does bring back memories from the old series... while I was watching Shining time station on my small cell phone and with Spanish subtitles I realized that that was the channel where Thomas and Friends was showing and that song should be on the list of best songs
I'm sorry this comment is very long but it's other people's memories
i would wake up every morning: mon-fri before school and beg to watch this.
We sure will. Thanks. 🚂😷👍🙏🇺🇸😇
You bet!
I remember hearing this song all the time on PBS but I don’t actually remember watching the show. What show was it on after because there’s a lot of theme songs I remember only because I would watch the opening because I liked the song and then change the channel.
Was it… Bobby’s World ? animated cartoon .
Shining Time Staiton PBS Kids Year: 1989 - 1997
The best kids TV theme song!
Happy 34th Anniversary to Shining Time Station (1/29/2023)
35th Anniversary (1/29/2024)
Love the theme song from the classic TV shows of I do love locomotives because I grow up with and watching Thomas and Friends seem all the series and every episode toot toot or wooo wooo
This is amazing, thank you
Good and important work x
memories. this song made me cry !
Nostalgia
Why was it decided that things like this needed to change? Who decided the younger generations couldn't benefit from this?
We're did find the footage for UP 8444 aka 844

someone who can tell me oh give context what this program was about since I don't know it, I only got to see the intro and saw that Thomas and his friends appeared but I didn't get to see it
OK hear me out. So we know IRL that in the movie Thomas and the magic railroad that the reason N&W 475 was chosen was they liked the look of it, but in the actual universe of the film/ TV show it's never explained why the 475 replaces the union pacific 844. Here's my crazy idea to explain it: Option 1: it's a new generation: For all we know it could be a new generation with characters sharing names from the old one, this would explain why Billy Twofeathers looks younger in the movie. Option 2: Indian valley railway has more then one locomotive: This one is very unlikely but not impossible. Indian Valley is a decently large railroad in the show, if the movie followed the same logic it's possible that they could have more then one engine. Option 3: Temporary engine: this one is the least likely of all of them but it could be that the 844 was in need of repair so they temporarily borrowed 475 till 844 was fixed, but it turns out 844 was in need of major repair hence why we see 475 through out the entire film.
Never thought about that... 🤔
@@TrainGuru Nobody does until they question it from a universe stand point.
