My name is Luke and, like you, I love trains. I am a UA-camr, voice actor, and train enthusiast and since 2005, I've had trains on the brain. My inspirations? Coasterfan2105 and AmtrakGuy365. Now I've created my own videos of model trains and real trains with my own style. This includes anything from local railfanning to informational videos to my popular Steam Locomotive Profiles series. I also have a website for newcomers, old rail buffs, and for people who want to ask questions. Come along for Train Guru! All Aboard!

Union Pacific 844 has been the "Living Legend" of the UP Steam Program since the late 1960s. Despite nearing eighty years old, the locomotive still has quite a bit of resilience, as shown in 1996. Constructed in 1899 by the Stearns Manufacturing Company of Erie, Pennsylvania, Hetch Hetchy & Yosemite Valley Railroad #2 operated in the Yosemite Valley hauling logging trains. It later operated for the West Side Lumber Company near Tuolumne City, California, where the locomotive would later receive her name. #2 was the West Side's last operating steam locomotive until the company shuttered a...

Throwback Tuesday: Memorial Day at Roaring Camp (2019)
Переглядів 1154 місяці тому
Five years ago in 2019, this was my second trip to Roaring Camp. Still using my iPhone 6s, I recorded on the main campground with the Civil War reenactment in the background firing cannons. This was the last year of the battle at Roaring Camp, and my first and only exposure to it. Enjoy this blast from the past! SOCIALS: Instagram: train_guruyt Website: trainguru.wixsite.com/trai...

The lawyer holds a good deal of responsibility if you ask me.
Remember, "Train ain't car, it can't stop instantly".
CLICKBAIT TRASH
I remember hearing this while watching I Love Toy Trains as a kid! This really brings back the memories! 🚂🥰🙏
Frankly, the local police had no jurisdiction to order the engineer to do anything. In matters of all railroad accidents, jurisdiction rests solely with the Federal Railroad Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board. The police department should have been criminally charged with interfering with a Federal investigation. At the very least the police supervisor involved should have lost his job. As regards the engineer, the trainmaster should have immediately relieved him of duty and removed him from the scene for his own protection. I know of cases where that was done; the trainmaster was quite within his rights to do that.
What happened to Mary was sad. But there was a fatality that was a million times more gruesome. Look up James Byrd Jnr. That fatality occured in Jasper County, Texas. You aint seen nothing gory until you learn about what happened to James Byrd Jnr. This Blackman was completely de-skinned.
I’m sorry but your 5th grade reading level is very distracting, I’m unable to watch this any further.
Bro 💀
the train murdered her?
No.
Her stupidity is what got her killed, that's like crossing the road with heavy traffic 🚦⛔
618 and 75 are both in pcs in the shop. The guy running the program has no knowledge of restoring steam locos. They both have been apart since 2004. He spent 5 million to repair 5 miles of track for the last 8 years. The steamers would make way more money then those diesels. They could even upgrade the facility and restore a 300. Its sad watching those locos rot and rust away! I ran 618 and 75 from 98-02. Now they are going waste oil that isn't the same smell or power the steamers are capable of
618 went down in 2010. Great Western 75 was the one who went out of service almost as soon as the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002 ended.
This video was on faces of death 2
My Favorite American Steam Locomotives; 1. Southern Pacific 4449 2. Union Pacific 844 3. Pere Marquette 1225 4. Union Pacific 3985 5. Nickel Plate Road 765 6. Norfolk And Western 611 7. Union Pacific 4014 8. Santa Fe 3751 9. Spokane Portland And Seattle 700
So needless. No reasonable person would blame the railroad/train operators.
Cease the stupid dinner music.
Thanks for the feedback. I'll have better music for my videos.
I saw the whole clip years ago. Very few things freaked me out like this. I the slo mo, the last thing she does is look up at the train. It broke my heart. Cute girl, too.
I don't understand how anyone gets hit by a train. They're big and they're noisy. It's not like they're gonna creep up on you.
Yesterday I tested and it was true
...
Since 4014 was refitted with a dual beam headlight, they can hopefully put the mars light back on 844 when it comes back.
Her ex husband must’ve dealt with a lot of conflicting emotions from this ordeal.
I drive a tour bus and you be surprised how many stupid people try to walk in front of that bus. as The bus is Rolling
This looks and sounds like a safety video from the 90's
It is, only way to tell is by how old the picture & graphics are done by a video camcorder wasn't all that great almost 30 years ago compared to now
Recently, some stupid teenager tried train-surfing in my area and got herself killed. I wasn't there to see the incident thank god, but this video reminds me just how dumb people can be
Heard about the same thing few years back where a girl was dated to jump on to a moving train, lost her grip & immediately lost her legs 😢 happe😮here in the u.s.
610 is like an old friend to me. I have been to TVRM twice. Once in 2006 and again in 2009. Both times, 610 pulled the train I rode on.
One brief careless moment is all it takes sometimes.
Just came back from Cheyenne, Wyoming followed big boy down to Kimball Nebraska and then headed back to Texas. Going to see Big Boy on the return trip in October heading back. What an amazing piece of engineering. I think I met you . Asked you if you wanted to use my truck bed for a better view.
Just to let you know, that supposed image of Mary T. Wojtyla is *NOT* actually a photo of her. It's a picture of a random woman named Susan Shaughnessy. I have no idea how her image got entangled with Mary T. Wojtyla.
Thank you for the correction. I am not certain that I would like to redo this, but I will put this in the description.
I thought that she looked nothing like the blonde woman in the video, thanks for the info
4:32 "she was on her way to see her ex-husband to sign the divorce papers." Not ex. Sounds like it was her husband, and he remaind husband to the point she died.
You can not be this dumb and expect to live a long life
Very sad case....i have seen it before, but amazed at the fact she ran out there despite hearing the bell and not using her peripheral vision.
Probably pronounced Woy-tiya not Wodge-tila like John Paul Pope II's real name. Polish
What about the J which is 611
Yes, this was tragic but then you want to sue the train company for your own stupidity? FOH.
From what I know, 844 hasn’t operated since 2019.
That's true. However, she is slated to come back next year after her 1472 Day Overhaul is completed.
She's Getting ready to be steamed on the C&O and the KRM.
Beautiful is that your layout or someone else’s?
This is a neighbor of mine. He has an outdoor layout.
@@TrainGuruOo fun
I don't think Mary was ignorant to the dangers, i think she was just trying to keep up with her lawyer who was taking the lead. I think it was an unfortunate accident that could have been avoided if he had been more aware. I think the takeaway is, no-one has your back but you, don't follow, always lead.
A "train hopping youtuber". Yesterday I watched a video on the demise of a "grizzly bear enthusiast". What is wrong with people.
Never get that guy as a lawyer. He made no attempt to stop her. Yeah, he wasn't looking in her direction, but as a man, he should have made an attempt to put his arm out or grab her. Pathetic. I hope he didn't get paid.
I agree.
Hope the cameraman did not get injured
4:20 I can only imagine the husband, going from divorce court to probate court in an instant. Easiest or toughest divorce ever depending on his attitude. I wonder if her lawyer delivered the news, then offered to help him sue the train people.
Stay - Off - Of - The - Tracks. Cause - That - Is - Where - The - Trains - Go.
*Same last name as Pope John Paul II.*
I'm a railroad wife of 53 years and my husband was a brakeman. He saw many deaths, from hitting cars to hitting herds of animals and lots of stories in between. The engineer, conductor, fireman and brakeman all see horrors, and live with them. People don't realize that to stop a train takes about a mile, and around 600 ft. for smaller trains....plus trains were around before towns, it's not the trains fault it's human fault, Stop look and listen people!
33 years ago this very day Mary. RIP
Well thats certainly a final kinda way of finishing a marriage.. rip
I saw this video in full in 1999 and couldn't it out my mind for years.
Growing up as a kid, living close to railroad tracks , I’ve seen all kinds of things , people jumping in front of the train , cut up headless dead bodies on the tracks , etc … that was 40 years ago , I still remember those things like it was yesterday
