- Kenya now has the 12th most costly fuel in the continent with a liter of petrol averagely retailing at over 200 shillings. So deep is the pain at the pump that motorists are finding it hard to keep their engines running and ordinary Kenyans are being forced to dig deeper into their pockets. Subsequently illegal fuel products are now being smuggled into the country simply because they are sourced at cheaper prices

5 hours waiting for something to charge? This will encourage drunk driving because the only Way for that long wait to not drive one crazy is when they are charging while at home, work, or bar.
Reaction measures. So far these vehicles cannot serve 3rd world countries. Not yet efficient even in our 1st world. They talk of mileage not about other accessories that drain the battery eg. AC, Media etc. Victoria statement that it consumes depending on how heavy she is on the peddle ought to raise an eye brow in a nation with poorly done or constricted roads and indisciplined drivers... The Kenyan tropical climate is also a concern in the long run not forgetting the terrain. China has disposed millions of E-Vehicles. Quite a number will be dumped in Africa especially Kenya willing to mislead its citizens.KPLC subsidies in EV is temporary just like any other promise issued by the current government. It will be their focus of taxation just like they have focused on fossil fuel.
Why are they touting it as Kenya's first electric vehicle they haven't even changed the logo from the Chinese. Githeri media here doesn't do research

For example, if they can design the motorcycle batteries to be chargeable by solar panels that are not proprietary, then people/ fleets can organize and get free power from their own solar panels.
This can be done by bundling the motorcycle together with a DC-DC charger (in addition to the AC-DC already included).
Then they can make the battery multi-purpose by giving it external facing 12V DC outlets that can be used domestically for things like lighting, television, and music ... This function alone would make it a no-brainer for any rural resident.
