- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- Africa, Kenya: they payment system in this country is completely different than the rest of the planet! Here they don't use credit cards, nor debit cards of QR codes like in China, but they use mobile money, which is called Mpesa! So today I am going to downtown Nairobi, CBD, to get my a sim and activate my mobile money. And I''ll show you how you can do it too!

He he, you're becoming a real Kenyan...avoiding all unnecessary fees and street hustlers 😅....that's how a real Nairobian operates
Ahah, I’m trying!
Crossing the road while vlogging is more difficult than people realize!
While vlogging I’ve feel down many times, but hopefully it won’t happen on a highway:)
@@MichelePonte ooops so sorry...
I'm always addicted with michel ponte's videos.
Mastering the streets very well.
I appreciate it a lot!
Again, you’ve nailed it perfectly with this video! Valuable content for those traveling to Kenya, and of course your positive attitude, make for the perfect video presentation! Your celebrity status has appeared here once again. Being offered a seat at the very front of the bus! I say, enjoy it and take it while you can, because you’ve worked so long and hard for it! Kenyans are doing it right with the M Pesa! I never heard of it until now. What a fantastic way to pay for services safely and conveniently! We have another cashless society on the planet! Thank you for all your efforts and educating us viewers on life in Kenya! 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
Cashless is for sure the future, and governments probably love it cause they can check on us 😅
Thank you so much Randy!
Yeah that's how we do our payments and transactions, it's convenient and safe,no more carrying money unless you have to. you really get along well with people, you have now become one of us.
Asante sana Vivian ❤️🇰🇪
Watching your videos from Kenya makes me so emotionally and excited at the same time coz I really miss my motherland
I’m glad my videos help you bring back these beautiful feelings
Kenyans are truly friendly 🔥🇰🇪✊🏿
Yes, they are!
Good to know🙂. The payment system seems very efficient and easy. Great video👍
Yes, it’s really good to walk around without a wallet
You are a quick learner and funny
It took me 4 working months in town to master the city streets despite being a local
Asante sana Bernard!
Just earned yourself a subscriber 😂it's how you blend with us for me 😘
Asante sana peace!
Good CONTENT! Especially describing the financial system there in Kenya.
Thank you so much Ken!
@@MichelePonte 🙂
@Ken Wigger - Excellent content! I never would have guessed that Kenya had a system such as M Pesa. Just got a bit more smarter here today, thanks to Michele!
@@THEDEADBLACKRAT I am thinking it is a little like how they do money in China for shopping with the phones handling the cash transaction.
@@KenWiggerAnotherAncientGamer I agree with you 100%. Same principle as is done in China. What’s surprising is that here you have a country in Africa that is doing this, and yet you don’t see it being done in any modern western country.
Very informative, I’m sure there are people who plans on traveling to Kenya
Thank you so much Yvonne 🙂
You have mastered nairobi streets more than me ....
I’ve done lots of practice:)
Good job ponte waooh see you are becoming one of our Kenyan citizen now you need a Kenyan citizen ship soon 🔜 incredible,I like it how you are socializing we love 💕 you Michele great 👍

Yooo partying it up here in pattaya ! Don’t worry always have time for your legendary videos 👍🏻🇹🇭
Be careful out there, young blood 😁
Hi Michele nice and cozy interaction with the passenger and walking us through the streets was quite interesting. When it comes to sending money by phone, we have a similar procedure here in Sweden. Thank you for sharing a very remarkable experience of Kenya.🙏🙏💙💙 "Michele you know if I could I would but my situation doesn't allow me" I hope you understand what I mean. 🙏
@Faisal H. - What comes from the heart is more valuable than any money that comes from the wallet. You’re a good person, and you have my admiration!
Do you know you can send money to your mpesa from your European bank account in about 2 minutes that's how we send money back at home for us living abroad.
I didn’t know
Hehe Michel this time round you came back prepared for the Nairobi streets I still remember your video back then next arriving at airport and boarding a matatu for 500 hehe
Ahahha, yes, what an experience!

*_Once I see this video it reminds me what happened 129 years ago that time we were sitting beside a railway line. First time to see a motorbike I had my bro say he has a big eye but he was referring to a motorbike. Sorry I thought this was to be your message sorry this is a robot typing and it's mad😂😂😂🇰🇪🙌_*

Hey there Michele, how are you? Becareful in them streets and don't get run over by a car, Lol. Look at you Front Seat Royalty 🚌 , Hahaha. The Kenyan people are so nice and friendly, and especially towards you.
Ahahahah, incredible royalty 🤣
Thank you so much for watching my video Mia!
Interesting to see ECOBANK ( ECOWAS BANK) in East Africa. It used to be a West African regional bank, When I lived in Nigeria 2 decades ago. You 'd see it across West Africa. Headquartered in Lome, Togo. Looks like it's across the continent now, that's a good thing
Oh wow, I didn’t know their history. Thank you!
Ha ha ha Michele welcome to Kenya. I can give you some good advice about ATMs for foreign bank cards. There are ATMs that can give you foreign currency which you can convert to Kenya shillings at a better rate. That tall blue building you see on Kenyatta Avenue called I&M bank has an ATM which gives Dollars and also there is a Safaricom shop on the ground floor that does not have crazy queues.
Nice tip for my visit to Nai
Noted i will visit Kenya next year
Cheers man!
Dzieki 🙂
It's as well possible to withdraw from ATM using your phone. You don't ve' to carry your bank card.
It’s beautiful!
I don't even walk with my wallet anymore, everything i need is in my phone nowadays
That’s fantastic!
Honestly I had to remember what a wallet is because I haven't had one in over 10 years
The folks knows more of Nairobi than I do damn....wonderful
Ahah, asante!
12:00 I see my workplace….I miss this place
I love your humor. Fantastic video
Thanks a lot Cole! 🙂
Mpesa i dont remember the last time i used cash.......all payments on my phone
That;s cool!
Fantastic
Thanks Alex
We love Ponte
Asante 🙂
Good job.... Nairobi hosting u extremely well
Yep 🙂
The most cash I walk with is probably 200. The rest is handled by MPesa. Much safer.
That’s nice!
Welcome to our country 😃 tuko na tabia zetu na utazoea tu
Asante Rose
Sio Masaai Mara tu.
Asante michele for the eco bank notice, I thought you always have to pay to use foreign cards for withdraws. Grazie di cuore🙏🏾
You’re welcome, prego 🙂

I love your content the way you are crossing those streets of kanairo weeh
Thanks for watching Maggie!
Great content!
Traveling on a budget is always a challenge, it makes me remember my trip to Marmaris, Turkey with only $50 to my name, living in poor neighbourhood, partying in night clubs on the expense of a rich russian yacht-owner, getting free drinks and lap dances by Carneval clad beauties! :)
Thank you so much for becoming a channel member, Mattias!
And wow, you had great experiences and now memories! I believe that living like this is one of the best things to do with this short life 🙂
@@MichelePonte Yes, you're right.
The sums I spent on travels would be a lot of money if saved in the bank. But then again you would have no memories to share at the retirement home...like when e.g. you were drinking and sunbathing with Hollywood stars in Mauritius. 🙂
Hi Mattias, just seen the donation on Revolut. Thank you so so much! 🙏
Your content is on another level
Thank you so so much Lia
Lillian!
ECObank has ATMs in 33 African countries. Very useful for travelers in Africa. Why pay ATM withdrawal fees when you don't need. Just look for a ECOBANK ATM.
True!
Welcome to kenya
Asante sana!
Yeah and also mpesa gobal you can pay internationally with mpesa virtual card

Mr. Makelele, nice video...How do you give a tip using Mpesa, you forgot that part...or Mpesa is a way to prevent giving tips?

THE person who told you to mine content in africa especially in kenya deserve an award ill tell you for real
