  • Apologies in advance for the inconsistent and buzzing audio in this video.
In 2003, Katie Couric traveled to Scotland to interview J.K. Rowling for a segment of Dateline that aired the day before the 5th Harry Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," was released.

Wow, Harry Potter book covers have two different designs and Harry Potter logos for each year. I can see why the Color Purple came to Broadway - TWICE. I'm so used to the Harry Potter logo I recognize the most, not the one used for the alternative cover art - but I have seen both covers and logos on TV.

@@bryanmartin5901 You see the different Harry Potter covers? You can distinguish them by their logo.

The awful puns, cheesy sound effects and unabashedly superficial shifts in tone, notwithstanding the constant sound issues in this video, neatly gather everything about Dateline and similar shows that made me want to break my TV in the early 2000s.

Lol I know it. It's funny you get nostalgic about this sort of thing and then you get a good look back at it and realize it wasn't that great then or now.

Katie Couric is the single worst journalist of all time. Not even close.

Katie Couric is the single worst journalist of all time: lacking in grace, full of bias and preconceived notions and assumptions about everyone she interviews, passive aggression, no interest in objective facts, uncomfortable, condescending, fake, and proven to have abandoned all standards of ethics.
