Normal prostate tissue produces PSA. There are established limits to the PSA for non cancerous prostate tissue (roughly below 4 is probably "OK). How can you tell if the Lupron has 'run out of gas' when taken together with hormone or chemo treatment? The radiation spoken about for 8-10 metastatic areas (lymph nodes), is that Proton Radiation or ? My Husband's (age 82.5) prostate was radiated (40 treatments) in 2018 (with 5+4 Gleason in a few samples). Then he received Lupron with: Casodex, Abiratatone, Zytiga, Xtandi. Last week, he had #1 of Taxatere infusion (every 3 wks for 6 treatments) with anti-nausea & low dose steroid because of those few metastatic areas (largest 3/4") at the kidney level + a lower lung lesion that has been negligible (for >20 yrs) with no growth...until now (it's 1/2"). Prolia is on the horizon. Will follow up on the Neulasta, DEXA, Calcium & Vitamin D. Many Thanks for imparting this invaluable & timely info, for keeping us in the loop.
ADT androgen deprivation .....n resistance to it both r causing fractures......long term side effects .......n treatment of mcrpc ...is very very difficult ....

Could you do a talk on High dose Melatonin and its effects on prostate cancer. I have been taking it for 4 months now and PSA is >0.01. I have stopped all ADT treatments due to the debilitating side effects I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer in June of 2022. No side effects from the Melatonin and now back to work full time. I was unable to work for more than a few hours a week under ADT and zitiga. The Zitiga gave serious liver issues and had to come off of it after 3 months. Dr. Switched me to Nubeca and the same thing happened to my liver. Not sure why he put me on the Nubeca as it offers no real OS with someone with metastatic cancer. If you just go to PUBMED and search Melatonin and Prostate cancer you will see over 200 peer reviewed papers on the cancer killing properties of Melatonin.
If ADT therapy works and side-effects are manageable, hormone treatments should be available to anyone who wants it. My husband was diagnosed stage 4 and is now in his third year of remission, with a negligible PSA. (He also initially received 26 rounds of radiation.)

We need much more science for metastatic cancer, hormone treatment should be abolished as soon as possible.
If ADT therapy works and side-effects are manageable, hormone treatments should be available to anyone who wants it. My husband was diagnosed stage 4 and is now in his third year of remission, with a negligible PSA. (He also initially received 26 rounds of radiation.)
very informative videos for us like prostate cancer patient= DR KANTI PATEL , 74 YEARS AND WORKING AS A VETERINARIAN AT QUEENS ANIMAL HOSPITAL WOODSIDE NY
What about BAT?
You haven’t mentioned BAT .
Lots of various treatments like to know the side effects? I'm now 75 years old and wonder if treatment will be good for my Body. If I get 5 years out with no treatment I'm fine. I like to have a pleasant lifestyle and I do not expect to get 85 or 90. It can't be beneficial to your old body to get so many treatments!
I agree a hundred percent brother. I am seventy. Gleason seven. Three doctors can't wait to either operate or radiate. Plus give me hormone treatments. I feel like saying... No. Take my.
Chances with good healthy food. And I do exercise every day. Tennis. I am perfect weight. Haven't felt healthier in my whole life and they want to make me sick.
Using Propionate not Cypionate which has too long a 1/2 life.
Sounds like a nightmare and beyond..
A pill for this a pill for that unbelievable. If your breasts get big we have a pill for that. Evan trouble urinating. We have a pill for that. And if that pill makes you sick we got another pill to fix the problem. I want to stay away from all this treatment and see if I could just change my diet ....DRAMATICALLY!!!! DUH
