      Thanks buddy, usually I would go
      Stock Pcv route as it saves you having to
      Keep checking the catch can etc. but on this as it’s missing parts I’m gonna go for the cheaper easier option 😂

      @@TheParrottBros It still works, but the problem is a blown head gasket and warped head. So it'll be a fun task soon. It's been sitting with coolant in the oil for about 8 months before I drained it. Needs a complete headache performed.

    Great video. Just a couple more things, you're supposed to test the pump with the engine hot and off, pump to end of green area in the pump gauge. You don't need the whole pump kit, BGS sells the pump alone (was about 15eur) and you buy a VW/Audi coolant bottle adaptor for about 7eur IIRC.
    In mine the T piece near the radiator was microfractured and leaking and also one of the quick connects going to the heater core, all cheap and easy to DIY replace. Also don't bother with metal flanges, the plastic ones have held for 20 years, get plastic, its cheap and does the job.

    Another great video, I'd replace that coolant flange pipe (the plastic pipe the temp sensor fits into). Mine just failed (hairline crack) and turns out there a common part to fail.

    I'm so exited to see the progress on this car. Such a great colour on it, so it deserves some love. (It's in the right hands for that now) Have you decided if you're going to keep it stock or not? My vote goes to just keeping it stock.

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  2 роки тому +1

      Battery drains can be a number of things, easy enough to test and find. Usually it’s the stereo, clocks or similar. You can do one of two things. Use a multi meter and when the car is turned off for more than 15 mins see what the current draw is to certain things. Pull a fuse and for a couple days and see if it helps

    Can this coolant tester clear any air Trapped ...or can a faulty thermostat not flow coolant in the Radiator..sorry I have little knowledge of cars

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  Рік тому

      The pressure tester doesn’t make liquids flow it simply applys pressure to the system to check for leaks and loss of pressure
      A faulty thermostat could be stuck open or closed. Easy enough to remove and replace
