I so hardly want this tent. I could afford it too. The problem is I don't really need it (yet). Been researching tours which would justify the purchase for a while now.
I'm really hesitating between the Allak and the Staika. As to me they are quite similar in design. What would you think would justify the upgrade to a black label model? (For a Mountaineering purpose) Thanks 😊
Hi Simon. The Allak and Staika are quite similar design and both are all season tents. Our Black Label Tents have stronger fabric, thicker 10 mm poles, and beefier zippers. Black Label tents offers the most stability and comfort. So, if mountaineering on Denali, or if you plan to use the tent as a base camp in winter, leaving it for some time, the Staika would be a better choice. Overall, if your trips are more exposed and remote, then the Black Label is better. For summer scrambles or shorter, less exposed, trips, the Allak may be a better choice. The Allak is still an all-season tent and can handle a lot but is designed with more weight savings in mind. The inner tent of the Allak is slightly smaller than the Staika. The Staika it is more of a pure rectangle where as the Allak is slightly trapezoidal to save some weight. So warmer weather climbing, the Allak may be better. Below is a link to some info about our Labels on our website. hilleberg.com/eng/about-our-tents/label-system/ Below is also a link to a video series where we interview our ambassadors. Some of them are mountaineers and talk about their tent decision and there are people that use both tents and explain why. hilleberg.com/videos/talking-tents/ Hope that helps.
Just got mine and I have footprint but when I just pitched it the footprint makes the door loose. I even kissed the strap all the way but still super loose.I just got it and super excited but I don’t understand why that’s happening.I feel like the footprint is causing it and I know that everything is setup correctly
Hello! Could you please tell if there's a specific order of attaching poles? Especially the "red" one (transverse) - should it be pitched first and stay below the other two, or last and stay above? Thanks.
What an amazing looking tent. I'm about to buy one for a 2 years bicycle tour and I can't wait to sleep inside this Palace. I'm not sure about one thing. When you say it is possible to only pitch the inner tent, how do you do it? What's required? Thanks
Hello. To pitch the inner tent on its own, you need the optional pole holder kit. Those are sold on our website. The "Allak Additional features and options video" explains what they are and how to do it. Below is a timestamped link to that in that video. ua-cam.com/video/n6aPw-sq2gE/v-deo.html
We recently purchased an Allak 3 and have used it approx 4 times and find that when we are inside the tent that the doors seem to sag and if you are sitting in the tent the fabric seems to touch the sleeping bags...Is this normal and if not is there something we can do to rectify this issue please ?
That does not seem normal. It would be best to email our customer support team. They will have the most information about what is going on, and how to fix it. You can reach them at www.hilleberg.com/contact
Hello. For the most up-to-date inventory and information of dealers who might have the Allak 2 available, I would recommend reaching out to our customer service team at tentmaker@hilleberg.com. They would know best.
I think its a matter of preference... I've owned many tents, my favorites were my Bibler Kiva and HIlleberg Allak, because I'm a giant dude and loved the space they offered. Loved how well this one vented moisture... Because, If I had to choose between colder and dryer vs warmer and moister, I always preferred the former. My arsenal of feathered friends bags kept me warm.
You can regulate your heat, not condensation. Have to choose between effizient ventilation or more condensation. Conditions at minus 5C is nothing for such a splendid tent... Bring a better sleeping bag, as well as dress up from top to toe, with necessary layers of thin woollen clothes...! ♨️ ☃️🏔️
I am the user of the the Hilleberg tents, owning Nallo 2 and just bought the Allak 2 few days ago. I have a question on the poles of the Allak series Is it possible to use 10mm poles on both Allak 2 and 3? Cuz I see the website and there are selections of 370cm pole and 406cm pole in 10mm diameter, which there are no Black Label tents using. So are these two poles are for the upgrade purpose of Allak 2 and 3? Thx😃
Hi Mike. It would be best to contact our customer support team at www.hilleberg.com/contact with that question. They will have the most detailed information about those pole options.
We’ve just taken delivery of our brand new Allak 2!
Really can’t wait to take it up high in the mountains 🤩
Was in one of these in 100mph winds back in 2010... had to dig out the snow drifts 3 times... other than that, it was amazing. Worth every penny.
Just got the Allak 2 and I can't wait to get out there and use it , will have to christen it on a Lakeland fell
Looks awesome, would be a nice addition to my Hilleberg collection.
Another great instructional video!
great instruction thanks!
Love my Allak!
Just bought this tent today 😃
Hope you will have lots of fun with it!

Hello. The order in which you insert the Allak poles does not matter. She mentions that at 2:32.

@@HillebergTentmaker thank you very much!
The top hat cover on my allak looks a lot more on an angle than the this tent here, have they changed the design
We have not changed the design on it. You can contact tentmaker@hilleberg.com with any concern or questions you might have.
I dont like sleep with inner mesh tent - it is very cold. Especially if i sleep in -5 degree.

You inserted the ground pegs the wrong way around...
4:49; 5:20
We do them either way. There are some that think they should go one way and some the other. :)
