Love the Bellamy brothers and your reaction. I love it when the younger generation sees the music we all grew up on. 60’s to early 90’s was the best . IMO
one of my favorite groups in the day - I still listen to them - Their "He's an Old Hippy" is my song!!! Those are TV sets in the background with their performance being shown!!
They are brothers "The Bellamy Brothers are an American pop and country music duo consisting of brothers David Milton Bellamy (born September 16, 1950)[1] and Homer Howard Bellamy (born February 2, 1946)"
I remember the 70's and these songs you love. The best was driving along with the AM/FM radio on and the windows down. These used to be called Easy Listening, apparently now they call it Yacht music. Singing along to all of these songs on a summer day was so relaxing and uplifting.
Walking down the beach holding this pretty girls named Angie's hand on our third date and hearing this song for the first time! Great memories, can still smell the salt spray, feel the sand under my feet and see those sparkling ocean green eyes and radiant smile! Thanks for the memory Britt
I continue to weep as I type this...I was 10 in '76 and this is one of the less than dozen things i MUST play as loud as I can possibly bear so I'm both deaf and blind right now. This I love and you I love. Thank you for stepping back into my era.
The song was written by a Niel Diamond Roadie for Neil. He turned it down! It is one of my fav's and catches people off guard at karaoke! Thanks for the reaction
One of those rare country songs that did better on the Pop charts than the Country charts. This song was a worldwide hit that included Number 1 in seven countries, USA included
Next up should be The Amazing Rhythym Aces..."Third Rate Romance." "The Ella B." "Amazing Grace (Used to Be Her Favorite Song)." "Who Will the Next Fool Be."
It is groovy...so loving I love the words the rhyme and the flow.. My childhood riding in the station wagon with My Mother and sister singing with windows done and the breeze in our Georgia Peach Hair PickEmTruckGearl 1970s 🎶 🎵 🐦 🍑 ❤❤❤ Thanks Britt Yeap they're brothers ☁️ 🌤 🌥
They did a LOT of great music in the day... Old Hippie is a hoot, and Kids of the Baby Boom (homage to Baby Boomers and to a lesser extent Gen-xers).... and yes, they are brothers....
I always considered Old Hippie much, much, deeper than "a hoot". Especially the parts about taking a senior trip to Vietnam, trying to adjust to a changing world, and the death of John Lennon.
@@hackermusic3355 Fair enough... having lived through that era, it is easy for me to relate to it in a deeper way, but for a young person, they have not experienced those things as I have. I guess I was taking the perspective of the old guy, looking back on time, some good, some bad, and realizing they all create the tapestry of my memory... knowing full well that the young folks of today, will be shaped by different, but similar (war, societal changes, death), events in their life... the wheel keeps on turning... but through it all, in my mind, the tapestry I look back on, is beautiful, and parts of it are a hoot.
Yes, Howard and Dave are brothers. This was early in what has been a long career, in which they're still going strong. I see some great suggestions have already been posted on other songs of theirs. You can't go wrong checking them out.
Interesting tidbit, The Bellamy Brothers were with Atlantic Records with lack luster success so they left and formed their own label in 1991 so they could have total control and have been putting out hits ever since.
Wow. I came in here to admonish Britt that green screens weren’t a thing yet in 1976, but before I stuck my foot in my mouth, I thought I better Google it, lol. Turns out green screens were thing in the 1970s. In fact, their predecessor, blue screens, were in use in the 1930s. Color me shocked! 😂 I remember walking around a German Fest in 1976 or 7 and they were playing this over the loudspeakers of the fairgrounds. It’s a very colorful memory. 🥰
I think that the video was made in England. The song was written by a roadie for Neil Diamond. There is an interview about how the song came about on youtube. Howard (moustache) is the oldest and David is the youngest. David wrote the song "Spiders and Snakes" that Jim Stafford recorded and sold 3 million copies.
Hey Britt, glad to see you finally got around to these guys. "Let Your Love Flow." Was one I was going to suggest, but it looks like somebody beat me to it. In the 80s, when I started listening to Country Music, I used to hear The Bellamy Brothers music, all the time. " Old Hippie." Was my absolute favorite of theirs... Somewhere close behind was another Country tune of theirs I used to cuddle up under the covers with my favorite girl listening to ; " Worlds Greatest Lover."
I thought they are Europeans, but looked it up: They are from Florida. These are stacked TV's (CRT's/with a tube - very heavy) - they did it often at conventions.
If l said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me.. That IS actually the title of one of their many hits..and yes they are blood brothers David and Homer Bellamy..
@BrittReacts Hey Britt!💕💕🌹🌹 LONG LASTING HUGS 🫂 AND LOTS OF KISSES WITH LOVE God bless you and your family you are awesome (Are You going to add this to one of your playlist as well as adding OLD-TIME ROCK ‘N’ ROLL FROM THE MOVIE RISKY BUSINESS TO A PLAYLIST?) Always
Well done, great review. If you want a fun country song to do you might try Joey and Rory doing cheater cheater. It's a fun song i think you'll get a kick out of it!
"If I said you have a beautiful body would you hold it against me?" is their next big hit. "Old hippie" is a good one too.
Yes!
Also need Redneck Girl.
I would also add ‘redneck girl’ my favorite and ‘when I’m away from you’. They have so many good ones.
and "Redneck Girl"
Love the Bellamy brothers and your reaction. I love it when the younger generation sees the music we all grew up on. 60’s to early 90’s was the best . IMO
This video is a clip from the Donny and Marie Show. The 2 you see in the background are Donny and Marie Osmond.
One of the best, happy, upbeat catchy songs ever.
Man, great tune, it was all over the radio in 76.
Yes, in my Country too. Massive hit. I loved this song... 👌🇿🇦🌍
I was 10 years old when that song came out, now I’m 58 years old 😱 Where did the time go ❤
This was a big one for sure, even later in the disco clubs they played this, people simply could not resist dancing to this tune.
one of my favorite groups in the day - I still listen to them - Their "He's an Old Hippy" is my song!!! Those are TV sets in the background with their performance being shown!!
If you like this song, from the Bellamy Brothers, you might find If I Said You Had a Beautiful Body fun too.
They are brothers "The Bellamy Brothers are an American pop and country music duo consisting of brothers David Milton Bellamy (born September 16, 1950)[1] and Homer Howard Bellamy (born February 2, 1946)"
They were from Dade City, FL and played clubs in Florida.
Relaxing, easy cruising song. What a great era for music.
This was my late grandma’s favorite Bellamy Brothers song. She would dance to this song every time it came on
David and Howard Bellamy had a great catalog and many big hits on the country charts.
I remember the 70's and these songs you love. The best was driving along with the AM/FM radio on and the windows down. These used to be called Easy Listening, apparently now they call it Yacht music. Singing along to all of these songs on a summer day was so relaxing and uplifting.

I love when songs do that. 😊
"Nitty Gritty Dirt Band" should be in the future too.
I got tix to see them next month, 10th row center.

Old Hippie is one of my favorites from the Belemy Brothers
One of the catchiest songs ever.
Thanks Britt for bringing back so many memories for me. Your reactions are priceless. Have a great day!!
The song was written by a Niel Diamond Roadie for Neil. He turned it down! It is one of my fav's and catches people off guard at karaoke! Thanks for the reaction
I played in a cover band that used to do that. Fun song.
Harmonies are a blast too
One of those rare country songs that did better on the Pop charts than the Country charts. This song was a worldwide hit that included Number 1 in seven countries, USA included
I never considered it a country song at all. I hated country music (or so I said) back in 1976 but this was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
I was a kid in the 70’s, beginning High School in the fall of ‘79. My High School and College years were 1980-‘88. It was glorious!
"Groovy"... "Mello"... "Bitchin"..."Dyn-o-mite"...
I absolutely love your reactions and your energy, awesome girl…
Back when I was a boy- One of my favs. It's on my play list.
Forever playlist !
I love watching you move to the groove 😁!
. Yacht rock for sure.
Drifting down the river music slow and easy… 🍹🥂🍻
This song has a wonderful vibe. Hope everyone has a day to which this song would be an appropriate soundtrack!
Next up should be The Amazing Rhythym Aces..."Third Rate Romance." "The Ella B." "Amazing Grace (Used to Be Her Favorite Song)." "Who Will the Next Fool Be."

The acoustic guitar is fantastic. This is what one hit wonder was all about. Nice work ☺️
Another great hit from the summer of 76< Arms of Mary . From The Sutherland Brothers.
Loved going out with friends and dancing to this!
Nice song that everybody would sing when it got played, outside on the radio or in a Bar.
Yes, Howard and Dave are brothers. This was early in what has been a long career, in which they're still going strong.
I see some great suggestions have already been posted on other songs of theirs. You can't go wrong checking them out.
Country music is full of brother acts. The first recordings I can find are The Johnson Brothers who recorded six songs in 1927
From the movie all young boys loved-Little Darlings.
Great song!!! Lucky growing up during this time!
While you're in this vein why not try Wildfire by Michael Martin Murphy, simple and easy. Thanks Britt

Interesting tidbit, The Bellamy Brothers were with Atlantic Records with lack luster success so they left and formed their own label in 1991 so they could have total control and have been putting out hits ever since.
I saw this selection, and with your personality...I was like, Oh, she's gonna vibe to this 😃

Howard (moustache) is the oldest and David is the youngest. David wrote the song "Spiders and Snakes" that Jim Stafford recorded and sold 3 million copies.
I had the opportunity see them in 1976 in Sacramento with Mac Davis.

You must react to "All the Wrong Reasons" & "If I Said You Have A Beautiful Body ( Would You Hold It Against Me?).
To me, I always thought their music has an island vibe
Check out the cover of this song by Ray Charles. RIP brother Ray
Want groovy? Try "59th Street Bridge Song" by Harpers Bizarre.
It was written by Paul Simon but this group had a big hit version.
Well done, great review. If you want a fun country song to do you might try Joey and Rory doing cheater cheater. It's a fun song i think you'll get a kick out of it!
