I liked everything up to the “great value” coffee oh my 😝 I don’t know if half and half can make it any better 😂 just kiddin thanks for the video great tip for the seal….happy drinkin!!🥳
Guilty! Yeah, I actually now own a grinder, though I still buy GV or Maxwell House. In my defense up until the last few years, all I drank was INSTANT! My parents had me make it for them as a kid, and it stuck. It stuck good :)
@Ikura Prime Did yours originally come with a rubber seal? The one on my early 1940's era Cory is still flexible enough to work, but I'm worried about once it cracks.
This was specifically designed as gasketless. There is a company called Dayseal that makes after market replacement gaskets for vacuum coffee makers. I haven't used them but have read they work.
@@xetaprime Thank you very much. I'll have to check them out. I also have a 1950's era Pyrex siphon pot with a rubber gasket ... altho it feels a bit stiffer, so I tend to use the Cory when I want to show off for friends and family. 🙂
When art and science merge to make great coffee! Thanks for this video, one of your best! The music is epic!
Thanks! I really loved making this video. Yes! Jade by Scott Buckley is awesome! :)
Again, the music is 👌
I know right? :) Jade by Scott Buckley!

Do you know if I can use a DCU and a DRL to make it gasketless?
Unfortunately no. You need the flat satin finish on both upper and lower for it to make the seal.
@@xetaprime ohh so it has to be exactly these models?
DNU - DNL
DCU - DCL
DIU - DIL
@@DruidVorse Yes :)
These are so pretty, they look like hurricane lamps. I was wondering what you were using to seal the rims.
A video on Aladdin Mantle lamps would be cool! Another great vintage item that still works well and is very interesting...
Being heat proof I bet you can stick a candle in there... hmm :)
Heading to ebay to look at aladdin lamps! :)
@@xetaprime My grandparents had some we used them when the power went out, they could keep a small room warm and provide lots of light.
Yes Her Doctor! Yes!! It's alive! it's ALIVE!! with caffeine...

I have a Cory DNU and DCL. Any idea how I can get the correct bottom for the DNU or correct top for the DCL?
Only way I know is to just keep searching ebay. There is a dnl right now on ebay.
