B-17 Bomber Sally B Flying Fortress - SANICOLE 2024

In 2024, the area around Sanicole airfield will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Allied Liberation, marked by the presence of the iconic B-17 Flying Fortress “Sally B” at the International Sanicole Airshow on September 21 & 22. The B-17 played a crucial role in weakening enemy industry and infrastructure during World War II. "Sally B," the last airworthy B-17 in Europe, is maintained by a foundation led by Ellie Sallingboe. The aircraft honors the heroic sacrifices of Allied aircrews, with the foundation continuously raising funds to keep this historic plane flying at airshows across Europe.
