You always make me want to be there NOW! But I have to wait until August! We’ll be staying between Gulfside and Tarpon beaches. Just a reminder about parking at lighthouse…. We can usually find parking at the pier lots. For those who are not aware, handicapped placards are free parking…. If there aren’t any handicapped marked slots, you can park anywhere in the lot.. just make sure your placard is visible.
I am stuck in NY while my husband deals with a work related injury and all we want is to be living in Florida. You help me keep my spirits up on Sundays. I appreciate the virtual beach time while we wait to be able to move so we can spend our weekends at the beach 🖤 thank you for your shelling videos 🥰
I waited 3 long years before we moved here so believe me - I get it! I've been here 2-1/2 years and feels like I've been here forever. I hope when you finally get here you love it as much as we do!
This was so lovely & enjoyable to share another Sunday beach walk with you! The number of urchins was unbelievable & a bit concerning; I am hoping it's just a normal cycle thing & not anything catastrophic going on. You do the most meticulous job with your filming & editing; you are THE BEST SHELLING VIDEO. And you know how much we always enjoy our Beach Time; thank you for including it, so we can just breathe in the ambiance of the beach. 🌊🐚🌅
I'm third!! Omg I was in cockle heaven here!! The hinged Atlantic and lemon obwes.. and all those huge live ones! I saw so many huge single ones.. between all of them and the juvenile ffc.. I was having a heart attack.. the surprise two alphabet cones too! And I do love the pens too!! Thank you thank you for today Sharmon!
I am originally from fort Myers born and raised. I now live in Ohio and get more homesick the older I get. Watching your videos make me feel like I’m back home. Thank you!
We just left Sanibel today after spending a week there. Last Thursday the surf was really strong and was bringing in SO many shells. There was a lot of variety and most were in great condition. We were really lucky to be there at the right time.
A lot of times that's how it works. Just being at the right place at the right time. I'm so glad you had a good experience and did manage to find a bunch of shells!
I’m in Swf too. Thank-you so much for sharing your beach time with us. Your site is the best and has helped me very much on beach searches and shell hunts. FOMS…lol😃
Thank you! I wish we had more variety of shells here in New England. I’d love to make a shell wreath for my beach themed back porch. I find these trips with you so relaxing! ❤️🐚
Thank you for all your lessons! I made the 2+ hour trip to Sanibel Island this morning and was able to get a lot of treasures! Thanks to you I knew what I was looking at/for and had a great morning :)
Hi Sharmon, It's always so much fun to go with you on your beach walk. It takes my mind off all the health stuff and chemo side affects. I love saying hi to the live critters and admire them. 😍 The shells are gorgeous! I really hope those two sea urchins with still some "stuff" in it won't smell to bad. I'm very curious what you will find on Shell Island. The name gives me high hopes! So fingers crossed.🤞🏻 Hope you have a fantastic week. Sending you lots of love and a big hug, xoxo ❤, Ilona
Wow it was creature heaven today ! I alway enjoy seeing the pelicans glide over the water ! Dolphins are always my favorite to experience and see ! Lots of unusual patterned shells today ! Loving what u found ! Thanks again for a beautiful day at the beach !
I was down there this past week -well we actually went to Naples..I wanted to go to Sanibel so bad and we couldn’t find a place to park 😞😞 So I decided we would go to Captiva, well no such luck, we saw 1 lot that was full so they closed it!!! 😩 We ended up a bowman’s beach and there was honestly no shells…if there was anything, it was so badly broken that you didn’t want it…we were there for 5 hours!!!! And I was there at the first of February, we were there for about 2 hours and found so many scallops!!! Yesterday…nothing! But my favorite places were Marco island and Morgen island. But everywhere we went-I was not disappointed!!! I love it down there, so beautiful!!! The weather was absolutely perfect!!! I love Florida!!! It’s amazing!!! I love Sundays!!! You are amazing also!!!!! 🤩🤩
This time of year the parking can be absolutely brutal! And those shells have a mind of their own - I never know where they're going to be hiding but I try my best to find them ☺️ I'm so glad you enjoyed your visits. I LOVE living here and sharing these amazing treasures our beaches have! 🐚
Those juvenile fighting conchs are so gorgeous! The patterns are so unique. And the urchins, at least in summer, can be cleaned out by the ant pile in your backyard…
I can't wait to be on the beach looking for all the shells 🐚 you show I usually spend 4 hours looking watching you every Sunday and giving me all the great tips 👍🏻 thank you love love watching where you go
At the beginning of our beach walk, you were looking at a scallop and decided to put it down…did you here someone yell “I’ll take it!” Thank you do much for taking us fans along!! Just awesome!!!
YES!!! I do think about the reaction I'll get when I decide to not bring a shell home but it lightens my work load if I leave the shells I know I won't keep at the beach 😅Thank you for coming along with me on my beach walk! Can't wait to share next week's trip!
I was sitting here, depressed, waiting for your video. I can’t find anyone to come down there with me!! I would come by myself but I don’t think the airline would allow my 9mm. So now I’m depressed again. Love your videos and all your great finds!!
Sunset Beach, NC doesnt have alot shells BUT once in a while you will see from a far a conkel shell as big as your hand just sitting there gleaming with its golden colors on the beach. absolutely beautiful. I have made some beautiful driftwood pieces with these big Conkels with it from the beach. This is where you get all of the sand dollars on the beach at Christmas time also.
Hawaii is on my list of places I'd really like to go shelling so I have to admit I'm a little jealous! I'm so happy I've inspired you to go out and find beach treasures. I hope I get to experience it for myself one day! 🌴🌊🐚
I am SO excited that you are going to Shell Island. We were there 2 years ago, but not in time for the ferries, so missed out on a shelling experience. We are planning a trip to Sanibel in November. Thank you SO much for your videos. They are keeping me excited and hopeful during this dreary Ohio winter.
I was pretty excited we were going to shell island too! And Sanibel in November is AWESOME! The shells start showing up again and the weather is glorious!
Sanibell has become very populated since the last time I went there - I guess that was in the 80's. Loved it. Got the Sanibel Stoop every time (picking up shells gives you a sore back after a while).
The population of Sanibel ebbs and flows with the seasons so depending when you come you can either have the beach to yourself (summer) or you'll never have the beach to yourself (winter). Either way I love the beauty that never changes!
* Oh, my, Purple sea urchin by a Lavender one.. So Beautiful.. Saw blue shimmering Mother of pearl from a Pen shell or something. Love the Blue colors. Not a whole shell but perfect for Art pieces.. I turn you to full screen to really LOOK at your finds.. Thanks ! ! WOW Dozens of Urchins all piled up.. There were 4 or 5 Pink small shells just to the left of the Live Atlantic Cockle So tiny & trimmed in white..
I just find it so amazing to see all those shells out there on the beach. I love seeing what shells you find. All beautiful! Love seeing the critters too.
Can I tell you that I've been going to the beach at least once a week for over 2 years and I'm still amazed at all the fantastic treasures that are out there! Especially when they wash up at my feet. I wish everyone could experience it at least once.
Your opening sequence with comments, is so funny - you could literally be out on the beach at 3:30am, and there would still be people...haha! Excellent video as always!
This time of year, I don't think I'd ever have the beach to myself 😅 A lot of people live here part-time, so I guess they get while the getting is good. Thanks for coming along!
Thanks for another day at the beach. Really need it today. I think the pen shells are interesting. And all the cockle shells really had beautiful colors. Looking forward to next week already😊
Did it again. Accidentally hit the send button... LOVE that whitish CS! You really scored on the orange CS's! Pretty yellow PC pair! That snowy egret looked like it has it's mating plumage. There are usually a host of brown pelicans at the end of Honeymoon, along with the gulls and terms and cormorants. You can't even get a couple hundred yards away and the gulls start their non-stop warnings... Those dolphins were in pretty close! Interesting... didn't know dolphins live that long. Thanks, Sharmon! xxoo
I so wish I could carve out the time I need to take the Florida Master Naturalist classes I want to take. I have to choose between making the videos and taking the classes so I'm just teaching myself along the way. ☺️
These fighting conchs are so cute! I have seawater tanks and in one of them i keep different kinds of fighting conchs. Sometimes they climb to the surface of the water and reach out with their little trunks. I give them some nori seaweed if i see them do that and they slurp it right up. :)
I am so jealous!!! I would love a couple of those gorgeous little critters as pets. I found a live one recently and I got to see it smack it's lips! It was wild! I'll be sharing that in a few weeks.
Thank you for another excellent video. Your video is very educational. I liked the explanation of the different pen shells. It looks like you have a new shell scoop.
I had to go and buy a new scoop as the one I had finally died. During the height of the pandemic I could not find one to buy and a neighbor was kind enough to give me theirs. Thank you so much for watching!
Woooohooo! First to view and comment this week, lol! A few more weeks and I’ll be there! Thank you for inspiring me with your wonderful walks and finds.
Awesome beach time and what a fantastic haul! It truly is the hunt that makes it so much fun. And I love seeing the local wildlife in the air and water.
The hunt is the best! Discouraging when you're not finding anything but I always manage to find a few interesting things to share. Thank you for coming along!
Glad to hear you are going to "Shell Island" with Reel Kind. My sister and I went 2 years ago in Feb with Reel Kind and it was a great experience. Also we lucked out as the night before there was a thunderstorm. Can't wait to see your trip!
Oh you were SO lucky! I chose them because of the tide and it was only myself, the captain and 2 other ladies on the entire island. It was fabulous and I can't wait to share!
That’s unusual, no sunshine. Much more my kind of weather. Bet those pen shells would, when broken down, make awesome jewellery. I like the urchins too. Nature is pretty clever making all the different stuff. Looking forward to next week. Stay safe x
I’m so ready for another beach day with you friend!!! I look forward to them so much. I can’t wait until we get to do a beach day and shell hunt together in person one day. 🐚🧜🏼♀️
So many urchins and turkey wings!! Weird! I only found 1 Turkey wing and only broken urchins when I went. It was red tide though. Tons of pen Shells and fighting conchs though.
Hi there, I absolutely LOVE our beach walks together, stunning, just stunning. You have mentioned a few times about keeping certain shells for projects, I have looked backed through all your listed videos and can only find 2 or 3 videos on your projects. Do you have any more? Asking hopefully 😀X
I wish I had more time!!! I've only made those few beach things when the beaches were closed during the pandemic and my shell mirror. I do have more projects lined up but I just can't seem to find the time to get to them!
I love your videos. I was wondering if you ever find scotch bonnets? I did not think they were in the gulf, but watch another sheller that found a couple of them on Sanibel. I’ve never seen one in the gulf.
I found one, really beat up one that was a pride and joy of my shell collection until I went over to the East Coast and found 5 in one day. Go figure! It's not impossible to find them over here, but it's pretty rare to find them in good condition.
@@SWFBeachLife well I've never gone to the beach that early in the morning so maybe there's something that you can find if nothing else Clearwater Beach is a beautiful beach just not great for shelling as far as I've seen.
I was supposed to be in your neck of the woods this week, but life interrupted those plans….so I REALLY enjoyed this video. That amazing mass of cockles was so cool to see, and all those urchins too! Loved seeing the dolphins as well. I look forward to seeing what you find next week.
I love your videos, very relaxing and totally informative and i enjoy every one! . Thanks for all the work of filming and editting in order to share with us. YOU ARE AWESOME !
Ah, another Sunday treat! Thanks for taking us along on your beach adventures, Sharmon ❤️ And YES……. 2022 is going to be a great year 👏🏻🙌🏻👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻 (I’m actually leaving for sunny Florida tomorrow for work but alas, no beach time 😪😪).
Love my Sunday evenings so that I may live vicariously through you. Our trip to the area last week left a little to be desired. It was probably just bad luck and timing. But we will be returning to the area and will opt for a shell tour to one of the islands. Hoping for one to Caya Costa! ❤
Also, in CA I learned at least with the abalone, their shell color depends on the type/color of algae they eat. So I assume that similar for some other species as well, which maybe why you see the pink sometimes??
I was just talking to my husband about that. I am not oblivious what is going on, but I want my channel to be a place to escape and enjoy just the beach and all it's beauty. You'll NEVER find me bringing any negativity to my weekly walks - I promise!
Another enjoyable video! One thing I did notice about the juvenile fighting conchs is that some shells are thicker than others. Is that just variation among shells? Love those sea urchins!
I think once they reach a certain age their shells will start to thicken a little. Allegedly there is only one species of fighting conch here, but there are so many variations in the shells from thickness, pattern, color to shape. I guess it's just genetics making all sorts of variations for me to love 😅 Yes, the urchins are pretty awesome too! I'm beyond glad they don't sting like the evil ones in the Caribbean do. I got stung once in Jamaica and that is no joke of a sting!
Overall best🏆📹🎬🔎close ups & story telling🤗😍😘 SOooo many beautiful🐬🐬🐬🕷️🦀 critters..... 🤦🙆💖📹🎬SNOWY EGRETS....calming beach Walk🏖️ Of course ANOTHER FANTASTIC COLLECTION of 🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚 Thank U 🤗🤣🤗 🙃😳
I loved the Snowy Egret--soo pretty! I have a question on the "ceret" (sp?)...are those also called augers? Those are some of my favorites. Also, your alphabet cone...was there some damage to that shell at one time and it healed itself? It looked like there was an extra "seam" on it and was wondering what would cause that.. Also, THANK YOU for talking about the pen shells. When I was in FL I remember asking people if they collected them, how to clean them, etc. The insides of those shells have an iridescence to them that I like. Thanks also for showing us the huge slipper shell. I like those, too, as they are so different from any other shell with the critter sitting on the shelf inside the shell. It'd be interesting to see a live one if you ever find one.
The ceriths and augers are definitely different but I've been getting a lot of questions about them so I do show you in an upcoming episode the difference between them. And yes, if you see a "seam" or a line in a shell with additional growth around it - something happened to the critter and it managed to repair its shell. The slippers I find alive all the time - but they are always stacked on top of each other in their little slipper pile. It wouldn't kill them to remove one from the pile, but I would feel so bad disturbing it! Great questions!
This is the app I use to plan my beach visit and to keep an eye on the tide while I'm out there: ua-cam.com/video/skpXEeeU9ZU/v-deo.html Stay warm beach friend!

FANTASTIC info that I forgot to include! I've "pinned" this comment so hopefully others will see it. THANK YOU!!
Thank you so much for your videos....I'm so tired of winter 😴 weather and I need a break from depressing News. ❤ from Ohio
February is not that good this year on Atlantic side. Only good thing was 2 days of strong eastern winds brought all those rare seeds on beaches.
I look forward to our "beach time" every week. Thank you for being there for all of us.
☺️ Thank you for coming along with me!
We are so excited to get down there. We went down in November to visit and cannot wait to get back! 🖤
Thank you so much for the lovely comment and thank you for choosing to spend some of your Sunday with me at the beach!
Just booked our August trip to Marco Island - 5 years in a row. Can’t wait! Your videos are such a help, now I know what to look for when shelling!
That's wonderful! I hope you find a whole bunch of souvenirs when you come!
Well apparently I am way passed third.. but loving being here never the less!!!
No such thing as being late to UA-cam 😅😅
I always think of you when I see those hinged cockles! Hope you have a fabulous week!
the spider crab was my fav this week!
Aren't they fabulous? Thanks so much for watching!

We just left Sanibel today after spending a week there. Last Thursday the surf was really strong and was bringing in SO many shells. There was a lot of variety and most were in great condition. We were really lucky to be there at the right time.

Thank you! I wish we had more variety of shells here in New England. I’d love to make a shell wreath for my beach themed back porch.
I find these trips with you so relaxing! ❤️🐚
We do have some glorious shells here. I've seen wreaths made from only oyster shells and it was lovely!
Thank you for all your lessons! I made the 2+ hour trip to Sanibel Island this morning and was able to get a lot of treasures! Thanks to you I knew what I was looking at/for and had a great morning :)
That's fantastic! I'm so glad you found great treasures - congrats!
Wow lots of awesome shells. I enjoy your videos so much, thanks for taking me along. I can't wait for our next trip to sanibel.
I enjoy your Beach Walks. Your videos satisfy my missing going to the beach. Thx 😊
Hi Sharmon,
It's always so much fun to go with you on your beach walk. It takes my mind off all the health stuff and chemo side affects.
I love saying hi to the live critters and admire them. 😍
The shells are gorgeous! I really hope those two sea urchins with still some "stuff" in it won't smell to bad.
I'm very curious what you will find on Shell Island. The name gives me high hopes! So fingers crossed.🤞🏻
Hope you have a fantastic week.
Sending you lots of love and a big hug, xoxo ❤, Ilona
We know all too well about chemo, and scans, and tests and even spinal taps, so I'm sending you buckets of love and strength from Florida! ❤️❤️❤️
Wow it was creature heaven today ! I alway enjoy seeing the pelicans glide over the water ! Dolphins are always my favorite to experience and see !
Lots of unusual patterned shells today ! Loving what u found ! Thanks again for a beautiful day at the beach !
Thanks for taking the trip with me!
Awesome finds as always💕. Love learning about the different shells, birds and areas. Keep up the great work🦀🐚

Me too! Like a ruler straight!
Those juvenile fighting conchs are so gorgeous! The patterns are so unique. And the urchins, at least in summer, can be cleaned out by the ant pile in your backyard…
I'm always afraid a raccoon or something will take the urchins but if I just can't resist some icky ones, I'll be sure to give that a try!
I had a wonderful Time and appreciated your tips!! Looking forward to returning again soon.
I can't wait to be on the beach looking for all the shells 🐚 you show I usually spend 4 hours looking watching you every Sunday and giving me all the great tips 👍🏻 thank you love love watching where you go
I absolutely love the calico shells they are my favorite. The pinks and purples are so beautiful.
Sanibel has THE best scallops!
Nice beach scenery ,many birds around the beach

Thanks for another day at the beach. Really need it today. I think the pen shells are interesting. And all the cockle shells really had beautiful colors. Looking forward to next week already😊
Thanks!
THANK YOU BEACH FRIEND! ❤️

Very cool color on that first sharkeye! Gorgeous CS at 6:37! I love the juv fc's with orange 8nside too. That is a LOT of urchins!
I thought of you over the weekend. I found a crazy colored turban that I've never seen before. The beach continues to amaze me!
@@SWFBeachLife The beach here has not been very good the past couple of days, but I found a nice AM this morning!
That’s unusual, no sunshine. Much more my kind of weather. Bet those pen shells would, when broken down, make awesome jewellery. I like the urchins too. Nature is pretty clever making all the different stuff. Looking forward to next week. Stay safe x
Nature is clever indeed! Hugs to you my island beach friend!
I’m so ready for another beach day with you friend!!! I look forward to them so much. I can’t wait until we get to do a beach day and shell hunt together in person one day. 🐚🧜🏼♀️
Me too mermaid! ❤️
THANK YOU
My family and I are going to FMB on March 7. Cannot wait to go shelling!
That's awesome!! I hoe you have perfect weather and finds lots of great stuff to bring home!
@@SWFBeachLife Thanks
Always look forward to Sundays. Great as always!
Yay, thank you!
So many urchins and turkey wings!! Weird! I only found 1 Turkey wing and only broken urchins when I went. It was red tide though. Tons of pen Shells and fighting conchs though.
Lovely and great information. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
All your finds are beautiful!! 💚🐚
Thank you very informative on this one…..See you next week
Going to Sanibel in March
YAY! I hope you have a great time!
Love that alphabet cone and orange scallops!
Wonderful video. Love the insights!
Thanks so much!
Great job!
This was an outstanding trip. I’m looking at a few hotels on Sanibel. Love the dolphins and the shells and enjoy the critters!
Wish we got all those beautiful shows up here by Clearwater!
Don't tell me that! I want to visit up there to check out the beaches. I guess I'll set my expectations low and hope for the best!
I guess the next best thing to being here is being here virtually but I hope you're able to reschedule and experience this paradise for yourself!
@@SWFBeachLife Thank you beach friend, I'm determined to make my annual visit sometime soon, lol.
I love your videos, very relaxing and totally informative and i enjoy every one! . Thanks for all the work of filming and editting in order to share with us.
YOU ARE AWESOME !
❤️ Thank you so much for coming along with me on my beach walks!
Love, Love, Love FLA and the beach. Been subscribed and viewing for a while, but I've never said "Hello". Thanks for the vitamin 'sea'!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a little note beach friend!
Thanks for the videos!
Glad you like them!
Thank you so much for your videos..I love them ❤ ❤❤
This is where I’m going for my feild trip
As always another awesome videos. ✌❤
Well I hope the warm weather and palm trees give you at least a little boost while you work!
Love my Sunday evenings so that I may live vicariously through you. Our trip to the area last week left a little to be desired. It was probably just bad luck and timing. But we will be returning to the area and will opt for a shell tour to one of the islands. Hoping for one to Caya Costa! ❤
That's the advice I've been kind of giving. Try the beach, if it's a bust, try a shell tour. I hope you next trip is fantastic!
Also, in CA I learned at least with the abalone, their shell color depends on the type/color of algae they eat. So I assume that similar for some other species as well, which maybe why you see the pink sometimes??
I hope so too!
Beautiful shells!!! A trip there is on my bucket list! 😎
Very nice beach trip, sure is nice to venture with you being that so much is going on in the world thats not so nice, its a great escape :)
I was just talking to my husband about that. I am not oblivious what is going on, but I want my channel to be a place to escape and enjoy just the beach and all it's beauty. You'll NEVER find me bringing any negativity to my weekly walks - I promise!
@@SWFBeachLife Well, you suceeded Sharmon!
What a great beach…..thanks💜
Overall best🏆📹🎬🔎close ups & story telling🤗😍😘
SOooo many beautiful🐬🐬🐬🕷️🦀 critters.....
🤦🙆💖📹🎬SNOWY EGRETS....calming beach Walk🏖️
Of course ANOTHER FANTASTIC COLLECTION of 🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚
Thank U 🤗🤣🤗 🙃😳
Thank you so much for taking the time to come along with me on my beach walks!
I love the turkey wings. They remind me of Breyer's Vanilla Fudge Twirl ice cream.
They do kind of have that dark chocolate and vanilla looking colors don't they? 😃
Hello from upstate NY in the Fingerlakes region
Hope Spring comes soon for you!
Well it's only 23 degrees out and it snowed. Spring can't come soon enough.
Love your channel and love to collect. Can you share what kind of bag you use to collect shells.
I showed in this somewhat recent video the shell bag I use: ua-cam.com/video/gI8tavKdqSg/v-deo.html
I love Sundays! I look forward to your videos! Can you please share what app you use for the tides? Thanks again for making my day here in cold PA! 😀
This is the app I use to plan my beach visit and to keep an eye on the tide while I'm out there: ua-cam.com/video/skpXEeeU9ZU/v-deo.html
Stay warm beach friend!
