Airforce Texan .308 SS 1-Year Review with Modifications for Winter Coyote

- A year ago I began looking for my perfect Coyote gun. I tested the Huben .25, AeA challenger in .25 & .357, Pitbull .357, and RTI Prophet .30. I found the Pitbull and Texan were the only one that could Handle the cold winter weather because they had no regulators.
After my Texan mods, I found it was the one for me. The gun is essentially regulated, but without a regulator. Don't belive me, watch the video!
Congratulations on the EBR!
You got me thinking about a bottle upgrade. Seeing you run low single digit Standard deviation numbers was amazing!
I have seen what you’re talking about regarding increased shot counts on the 60-70’ish grain slugs. I’m trying to cast all my own ammo and I’ve not found a light bullet mold my stock Texan .308 really likes at 100 & out. My rifle does like 65 grn NSA and will group those under 2” at 100 yds. Still need to test AVS slugs.
But again staying with the “roll your own” theme, the standard 34” Texan does likes the Lee 120 grn mold. Typical golfball size groups at 100 yds with between 4-5 shot & make over 250 fpe. Definitely uses way more air than lighter slugs. My fill pressure for the NSA 65 slug is 1800 psi. The fill for the 120 Lee mold is 2800.
But anyone interested in casting, the Lee 120 mold is a keeper.
Thanks for the info Jeff. I got your 72 grain. I'll try to test them this week. Yea, full sized 100gr above, ss 75-110 it seems
Best video I ever watched
Thx!
Great video as always. I just want to say how much I appreciate your consistency and informative information that you give. Always very straightforward to the point. I definitely learn a lot.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Thats the bomb buddy, very awesome Nathan.
Thank you! How the Lelya doing?
Great Video Nathan ! And congratulations again on your excellent EBR shooting !
Thank you Joe! I appreciate that from you a lot.
Dude that awesome. A little more accurate but I haven’t found the right ammo. The airforce looks nice 👍🏻
Tom yes ammo is a big deal. I really spend a lot of time and $ on ammo before I pick one.
Nice, very nice!! You got a new subscriber. From New Mexico, Stay safe and stay blessed.
👍🇺🇲🤙🇺🇲✌
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! A lot of goo airgun shooter down there.
Hi you helped me once with suggesting the active 8 bipod your still using. So I'll pay it forward. Get the RMPA( rocky mountain precision airguns trigger with a ball bearing/polished trigger and a talon tunes light weight first stage spring. Worth looking into. Thanks.
Oh yea, already got it! Going to install after coyote season
Awesome video Nate
Thanks! Good simple rifles
Where could we find that same tank you purchased? Love your videos man!?
Thanks. I put a link in there

great vid. i cant wait to see some coyote hunting vids. what is your starting zero yardage?
Oh yea, I've been trying to get one every spring for 3 years. Now, I'll be out during winter. I got a feeling it will be this year, keep tuned.
Hey, I can tell you've doe the work to help me answer a few questions. I have a.45 cal airforce texan suppressed and i've noticed the lack of accuracy from time to time. I've nabbed a few coyotes at close range but want to improve because i've missed a few really close range shots too. Is there any way you've chat with me over the phone? I've been consistantly hunting with it for 2 years now.

@@easternblocairguns2728 Thank you, will send message to to today.
Love it!!!
Thanks!
Great Information, thanks
No problem!
Did you have to do anything to your barrel? Fire lap or slug it etc?
No, not this one. Never did that. I did one deep cleaning. I thought there was grease in the barrel.
Hey man late comment but would you say the SS or LSS in .308 is backyard friendly/quiet enough to shoot in my backyard without disturbing neighbors/getting cops called? Thanks
Yea, if you tune it down and shoot 75grain or lower. I took a rabbit in town. It was just a soft "thud" sound.
@@easternblocairguns2728 Awesome! Thanks! What’s the best for power/accuracy/quietness? LSS, SS, or Carbine
Thanks for all the help I really appreciate it
@@elohist I shot 75 grain at 940fps, that was my most accurate. Tried som 65grain too, was good. Put wheel at 30% for 75 grain.
Without dialing it in would there be a lot holdover from 50 to 150 ?
Yes, like 20moa
@@easternblocairguns2728 last question maybe lol so this will kill a coyote at 100 to 150 body shots?
Hi how you doing?
Nice gun, how much would you sell it for?
Lol! Not for sale. Sorry.
@@easternblocairguns2728 understandable, if I ship you my Texan SS would you tune and customize it
Sorry to keep bothering you, but is this it?
TUXING 4500Psi Carbon Fiber Air Tank 1.1L 67Cu in 1100cc Pcp HPA Bottle, Gas Cylinder, Sacuba Tank, Paintball Hunting for PCP Air Rifle Gun Daystate and FX Thread M18 * 1.5
It's metric m18-1.5
Yea, 4500psi have metric. Low Prussures are mostly paintball, is in standard threading
Texans/condors have metric. But the talons has standard, I think
@@easternblocairguns2728 I have the Ss 308 an it says m18 -1.5 so The 4500 psi will work on your rifle that’s the one that you got correct?
What kind of 11mm to picatinny conversion mount is he using? Where can I get one?
This one. www.ebay.com/itm/NcSTAR-3-8-in-Dovetail-to-Picatinny-Rail-Adapter-Rail-Short-/255155902527?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0But I swited to dovetail scope ring instead.
Hey there, what does the whole package weigh?
try setting the camera on manual focus.
Yea will do. I'll look for that on it
joss master
Yea, it a boss master!
It's sounds like it's in tune if that makes sense but in the uk you need fire arms certified licence for any air gun shooting over 12fp. Gutted I managed to fix my r5m down to not having the air tank hex done up the wrong way shcool boy error 😢. Have you got an email address or a better way to contact you. Great blogs haydyn.
Yea, davidson_nathan_g@yahoo.com
What kind of air tank is that and how much it hold
1.1 liters @ 4500 psi
Where can I get the bigger bottle like you got?
They are hard to find. Here is the link to the one I got. But it is not available.

How about fx impactmark 3 in 30cal?
Yea, that would be great gun too.
Why do you still have the safety?
I delete the safety on all my Airforce bunters
I've been planning on taking that off. I told myself that I'll do next time I have it apart, I'll do it. Then I got accustomed to it.
What bottle did you upgrade to?
I'll find it for you 5m8n

Be nice to if a donny moderator can be attached to loud for me
What Gauge did you upgrade to ?
I still use the .308. But I also use .357 for coyote
@@easternblocairguns2728 sorry I meant to say what pressure gauge did you upgrade too ?
Meu sonho é ter uma PCP dessa é uma pena que aqui no Brasil não vende , ainda mais com esse desgoverno que está no poder agora
aea challenger 30 cal has close to 300 fpe...the texan 30 cal is not the most powerful 30 cal air rifle
Okay, not arguing power. Power means nothing. With the Texan's in Line valve, you can achieve powers at lower pressures. Belive me I had a .357 texan carbine, and a challenger .357. I need to full my Challenger up to 260 bar, Texan 200 bar to get the same power.
I'm not taking about power, I'm talking about air efficiency, docile shooting gun, time at the range shooting, saving $ on air.
@@easternblocairguns2728 Right on
Saving money on air? I mean...isnt that why we have compressors and hand pumps? No one wants to use a hand pump but thats why you get a compressor. @easternblocairguns2728
