@@Okhanz Hi there! Thank you for the good words! I appreciate it. I can't give you the exact location out of respect for others that fish the spot. Sorry. I don't want to be know as a spot burner. I hope you understand. I will say that it is in Newport Back Bay. You might be able to figure it out using Google maps in satellite view. That's the best I can do. Thanks.🙂👍
Awesome catch Phil! May have been a product of the backbay white seabass hatchery program. What a perfect specimen. Beautiful! Nice technique keeping rod tip high to avoid rocks 🪨
Cool stuff man.. I've been fishing the harbor lately. I'm not from this area nor am I familiar with saltwater fishing but your vids helped put me on some fish around here. Thanks and keep em coming.
@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 I’ve heard a few seemingly reliable reports of Shortfin being caught in and around Newport. Rare compared to further south.
@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 I knew there was some kind of difference in the tail shape, the zipper on belly, etc… but couldn’t see the dark vertical bars like most WSB have. I was hoping you caught the more rare “Vampire”. Great catch either way!
Hi Keith. Thanks for checking out the video. I actually have a friend who has a surf fishing page. I going to do a video with him and a couple of the guys from the CSA. That was one place we were thinking about fishing for the video. I guess we'll see.
Hey there bro. It's off the 215 freeway and Newport Ave, in Menifee, CA. Not sure where you are driving from, but it's out towards Temecula. What city are you driving from?.
@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 Sweet! I'm new to the area so I'm still learning all the fishing spots. Can you tell me where this is at precisely? I would love to fish there.
Sorry I didn't back to you earlier. You know I have not caught a bonefish in Newport yet. I have seen a few caught. I caught several in Huntington Harbor and some in Alamitos Bay.

Can you still fish there ? I have yet to go since it’s surrounded by restricted areas don’t want to accidentky get a big fine
Hi Jesus. You can fish certain areas. They just don't want people tromping through the marsh areas though.
@@anglertoanglerfishing6652 that makes sense I just checked the website and it says to stay on the rocks only is it a fairly small area ?
@@jesusgaona5189 yes. That a spot is a small area.
Nice WSB, did it have a fang or two at the top of mouth? Was wondering if it might have been a Shortfin Corvina?
I think it was a WSB, the tail had a slight fork in it.
If was a shortfin that would be awesome. I don't think they are this far north.

Great video. Nice catch! New subscriber!!
Nice video !!!
Can you park down there? Or is the road closed off?
You can park. It's a small one way road with a 15mph speed limit. Just watch out for pedestrians and people riding their bikes.

Aren’t some of the spots restricted around the back bay? Which street is this near?
Hi DKSMV. Yes you are correct. Most of the back bay is closed to fishing and general foot traffic. This spot is by Jamboree.
Is that the. Est spot youd say fkr spotties an halis ma boi??
It's like most spots. Good days and bad days. Typically it's better in the winter and spring. 👍
