- Why earn money when you can literally create it? Frank Bourassa always loved dangerous projects, but figuring out how to print millions of fake $20 bills cost him much more than the price of ink and paper.

The ending is GOLD. Made smile for real. The guy is a truly artist! Thanks Jack!
He made away as a bandit, escaped jail time and got 50mil in the end
@@jonwho4231 A movie should be made of this episode! NOW :)
@@jonwho4231 30c on the dollar, so $15M, still did really well lmao
Lmao fr.. so cheeky. Almost like an ocean 11 movie
A genius. In all these stories we hear about people being caught because of third party and thrown to jail. This is a rare situation but a welcome ending where people outplayed the government.
This was insane. Jack really has outdone himself. And Frank is absolutely wild.
Jack is the best technical story teller you can find. Especially in matters of dark web and hacking crimes. I look forward to watching his rise into great things to come. I am a retired Network Engineer now, and there are few that truly understand the intricates in this industry like he does and able to convey it in long form with such quality.
My favorite thing about him is how he takes the time to explain exactly how things work, even just as a refresher
He does explain his stories perfectly even for people without the computer science backgrounds !
He is really good at this, I agree.
Nobody else does it like him.
He is great. What a privilege
The laugh at the end is really him having the last laugh😂
I've watched this whole video, and can confirm this is a certified Darknet original.
“They should probably look for that” bro is very secure, there was definitely more than that too 😂😂
The only crime being commited here is this channel only having 290k subs! This is one of the greatest content creators on UA-cam. Hang in there Jack, your time is coming.
Well said.
Plot twist. He really printed 400 million in 20s and just told them about 200 million lol
😂😂 ye for real that ending is so funny
fr "consulting" is a good idea for money laundering too...
🤣🤣🤣
I'd be surprised if they're not still watching this guy though lol
This what i was thinking. If he smart enough ti finesse this much he prolly did something like this aswell.
The box truck at the end absolutely terrified the police. Imagine if some random person managed to find the boxes and just vanish with the money for a few years?
They could’ve just set a earlier drop date
The U.S. Secret Service would inevitably show up at their domicile or place of rent, family members' property, or couch they were sleeping on. Straight to jail... end of story...
@@DeBergeracs-s1n Yes, definitely. It's not like they ever do mistakes, to be honest.
@rumplstiltztinkerstein Mistakes... of course, they are human. But the thing about law enforcement is they can swing and miss all day long whereas opposite only takes a couple of mistakes.
Frank Bourassa's story is fascinating for how far someone will go to achieve their ambitions. It's impressive that he was able to essentially start up and run a highly sophisticated printing operation. It's also interesting that he was able to leverage his skills into a new business later on. His perseverance and resourcefulness are quite remarkable.
What’s with the Ukraine flag? It’s 🇮🇱 now - keep up with the current thing 🤡
Its a ukranian nees channel chill out gramps 😂😂@@wulfsorenson8859
Not only that, he had already previously run a highly successful business to be able to fund the 300k+ in startup cost for it.
For some reason the ending of this made me think of the scene from '2 fast 2 furious' - "pockets aint empty cuzz" lol
Thank you for another amazing episode Jack.
😂
I remember when i was diagnosed with panic disorder. It made things so much clearer to me, and it helped me put together some resources to help myself out of attacks. All my close friends knew i had a playlist to put on if they saw me freezing up, and other than put an earbud in, to just leave me alone. Ive gotten better over the years, and theyve become fewer and less severe.
Panic disorder is no joke, you feel like you're going to die when an attack onsets
I had my first panic attack resulting from rebound anxiety from sleeping medication the day after, so it was totally bizarre and scary to me especially as I wasn't actually consciously worrying about anything when the attack came on.
It took a fair bit of convincing and research to get me to accept it was a panic attack as, at the time, it made no sense whatsoever to me that I was in a state of panic without anything to actually panic about apart from the symptoms of the attack itself. I've had a couple of attacks start since (due to actually stressful triggers) and knowing what it is, focussing on my breathing and taking a time out has been successful in halting them thankfully.
@carnivorebear6582 breathing exercises are definitely helpful, I tend to hyperventilate during my attacks. The issue for me is I will lock up and my body won't listen to my brain.
Music helps a lot because I can focus on the tune and try to align my breathing with it. The first song on my Playlist is cigarette daydreams by cage the elephant, since it's fast enough to slow down to, but slow enough I can get useful breaths.
I documented what was happening to me after it happened for months and took my journal to my doctor. I had 5 months of recorded panic attacks being usually daily, sometimes multiple in a day. I had a list of possible triggers and symptoms, so the doctor was really grateful and confident in the diagnosis. He put me on an SSNRI and that's kept me from most attacks since then
If I'm ever in trouble I want this guy's lawyers.
Respectfully, for a guy who suffers from panic attacks, he really did not make the best life choices lol
Probably has panic attacks because he made really bad life choices.
@@caseyjc5 well from the sounds of the interview, the panic attacks are what inspired him in to counterfieting lol
I wouldn't say that being left with $40 million clear & free sound's pretty good to me🤔💰💫
@@caseyjc5seems to have turned that around pretty well free & clear plus an alleged $40 million, recon that's cured his panic attacks, I know it would me🤔💥🤫
This story has been incredibly impactful. I didn’t know what I’ve been experiencing but from this story I’m fairly sure I’ve been suffering from panic attacks. His symptoms are exactly the same as what I’ve been experiencing. His story is extremely relatable. I mean from overworking and all of sudden experiencing panic attacks; not the life of crime part lol. I’ve shaken so much people think I’m on drugs which further intensifies it. Now I can work towards a resolution. Thank you so much for this!!! ❤
Thank you for existing, Jack 🙏
You’ve got me hooked. I watch uploads within the first 24 hours. Not many people get that from me. I’d say Cody Ko and Mr.Ballen are the only others
Thanks for sharing your favs
best way to find some
im trying to think of some now...I assume everyone else is watching them
I may be wrong
I was watching neither you provided..
thanks..
I did an apprenticeship as a printer a few decades ago and I seem to recall being taught that banknotes were printing using the intaglio (gravure) process rather than the offset process.
Jack upload days are the best days ❤️
This story should made into a movie. This is one of the best stories I have heard yet. Frank has out played everyone in this investigation.
I would love to see this on screen.
Remember it was in a box truck with 200 million in $20's
It's similar to Catch Me If You Can
One of the more surprising aspects of this whole episode to me was that he essentially had to barge into the best doctors office, all without an appointment, just to be told he was having panic attacks. This was after going to MANY other doctors.
Welcome to the Quebec healthcare system…
not much better in the US@@Mbramr2030
@@Mbramr2030exactly lol not surprising at all
The presses being huge is an understatement. We have 3 offset presses where I work. They're about 15-20 feet tall,10 feet wide and 400 feet long.
Offset Web?
Do your thing champ
@@fookingsog yep. 2 sanden's that use dies and plates as Jack described, and 1 Konica digital that's basically a glorified laser printer that prints rolls instead of sheets.
@magiwarwolf1 Konica-Minolta makes some pretty nice color copiers/printers too!!!...especially when paired with a Fiery Controller! Yet, even if they don't have a Fiery attached, they're still great machines!!! I used be a copy machine technician, and they quality machines!!! I much more preferred working on a Konica-Minolta to working on a Ricoh/Savin and Kyocera/Copystar!!!
Heidelberg makes smaller sheetfed offset presses. The biggest paper is 40" wide so 12 feet tall by 30'-40' long by 5' wide. Approximately. Ive worked on high quality Heidelberg presses. Just saying, youre probably taking about a roll fed.
I heard about this guy ages ago. I'm amazed you landed this interview with this legend! What an amazing story. I'm honestly surprised about the police paranoia at the end. What would blowing up the police do for him? He never had a history of violence. It's like they thought he was some kind of bond villain!
It's that or it was such a big case, evey police unit wanted in on it. Bomb squad, dog squad, air unit, traffic... Heck I reckon a few police accountants strapped on bullet proof vests just to 'check on the money'... Shame they missed the other pile of money... I wonder what happened to it...
This story is the most epic of all time. I felt the same as watching a movie of a hero🔥
That guy Frank could sure plan some great strategies. Glad to hear he put his talents to legitimate work in the end. Excellent video Jack! Keep up the good work.
So he farmed out the manufacture of the plates to a third party, and nobody thought "this dude is counterfeiting money"?
Maybe he told them he was printing prop money and only ordered the front from that company. Some prop money is one-sided.
This is one of the best Darknet episodes. Beautiful storytelling and narration from both Jack and Frank. This Frank dude is insane!
Thank you Jack, listening to your stuff really helps me going through university work
How many other people get to say that they got police escorted in a box truck with over 200 million and a printing press that they illegally used, what a story...
I freaking love this show..!!! Hey Jack, you should consider write a book!!!
Facts, that would be a really interesting read
A best of Darknet Diaries book with some more in depth information about some of the cases Jack has covered is a book I'd definitely buy.
@@GodlessScummerWith some photos, excerpts, and interview with related people, it would definitely be a great book to read.
@@kyouhyung definitely a best seller, these are some very interesting stories and the knowledge we gained is very valuable.
I think he should print it! 😉
You definitely get some good stories on this channel, also edit and direct the stories in a great way.
Loved the ending for the story. Great way to wrap it up while leaving us wanting more. I enjoy these so much I'm going to send some patreon cash Jack's way. Worth it.
I thought for sure there was jail time in this guy's future.
The man is the story telling king
You got me hanging till the end! Great episode, as always. Thank you:)
Damn, his laugh about the other 50 million at the end gave me chills. Walter White over here.
Incredible story man....your podcast never fails to entertain
This is an interesting episode especially the mismatch part😂, reminds me of (catch me if you can) movie
this episode is my favorite for sure ive listened to it before and now again. Absolutely love your show.
Seriously great episode. What an interesting character.
That ending, masterful! Frank is a legend
So many amazing stories on here, Jack! Blows my mind you're able to find all of these awesome guests. You're doing some great work!
Amazing story Jack! This guy is amazing, a movie should be made about him, it's absolutely impressive that he had so much drive to build such a sophisticated operation and use his own paranoia to stay several steps ahead of the police. How he offered the money as bargaining chip and how he figured out to move it before he mentioned it is absolutely genius! Also, that lawyer is the real MVP, what a legend he must be, that would be the lawyer I would get to stand up for me if I lived in Canada
This might be the best one yet. Frank is a legend!
I remember hearing about this guy. Crazy! Cool interview
I am only 37 minutes into this. I am listening to this and thinking "NO FRANK! DONT DO IT!!!!" He is so talented, and yet....
and yet, the end... priceless!
Why would he keep any fake money or equipment at his house? Thats where they nailed him.
Love the late night / super early upload for us early risers ❤
Every story on this channel is better than whatever the writers in Hollywood are capable of imagining
Dude sounds like an older xQc with more braincells
What i fail to understand is that he printed perfect $20 bills, undistinguishable from the real thing, so basically he had 200 million in perfect money. Why sell it for a third of the value and risk getting busted? Just spend it a little at a time for your own needs. It's not like spending 75 million is any easier than spending 200 million eighter.
He didn't want to be caught on the off chance with the fakes. Also even 75mil in hard cash is next level impossible to Lauder. He'd need several high cash only businesses
If you get caught with one bill and they search and find the stash, you're going away for a LONG time.
Dealing with criminals is easier. Either they do straight business or just rob you, but either way you're a free man.
Try buying a home or car with $20s
Best endIng I've heard, especially considering the few words to took to convey the come up summary.
Lmaooo I loved the way this ended. Frank ur a mf legend bro
How did you even find this guy. incredible stuff
This man is a legend.
This story deserved a deep dive like this.
You’re amazing Jack! I wish I was interesting enough to get to talk to you for an hour! 😊
Great story! Better than most crime shows and movies out there.
Small city of 130,000 people !? Where I come from small cities have 20k or less
What a fucking legend broo I had a big smile on my face the whole episode. That ending tho man that's his rainy day funds
This episode is definitely one of my favorites!! What an exciting story!
I can't help but think Frank didn't skip straight to the money, the level of work and time this guy put into it... It's almost the same as you put into producing a legit product.
But when i print millions of dollars suddenly its a big problem for the gustapo. 😂
“Where’s the other 50 million” that shits buried in his backyard for sure😂
This is the truly the craziest pod so far. My gosh.
He speaks really good English, especially for someone born in the 1970's.
He must be half English. Because in Trois-Rivières the only place where you hear English is on the radio, in pop songs.
His girlfriend was English and a school teacher. Also, a lot of the mob in Montreal speak very good English so it’s kind of essential to learn the language of business
For me, this is one of the best episodes.
Oh man this was a great episode. Frank is 4 steps ahead
Amazing story and very well told. Rare to hear of one that got away with it.
in the start he doesn’t want to do a lot of work but then he did this
The ending 😂 What a legend.
omg so there was 200mil in a truck in the streets , pffffffff high anxiety level
I was around when his bills were being passed through the rave scene by outlaw bikers. They used to be sold for $10/each on the streets and most of them ended up at garage sales and bingo halls. I lived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and the black market was owned by Quebec bikers after an extremely hostile takeover.
Feel into this rabbit hole.... Last two days, good you are great at docs keep it up...
I heard this one on spotify waay back
Had to listen again
What a great episode .
Irony USA is bankrupt and prints money like its water.
Yep backed by nothing fiat currency
@@abigalanderson7494every currency is backed by nothing
He takes all these precautions and then gets caught with a million fake bills AT HOME, in a vault he had at the house of his girlfriend, who he wanted not to know and to be totally separated from the operation?? And he even had actual counterfeiting equipment right there! Another thing that does not fit is that the story at first tells that he only wanted the bills to be EXPORTED, to Europe and otherwise abroad, but when he starts to circulate them 'they started to show up at strip clubs' and so forth. Then there are two more things that don't seem credible to me: according to the story the original security strip says "USA 20' even though his own one only said '20', but nonetheless his bills supposedly were undistinguishable? And he supposedly had printing plates OF ACTUAL BANK NOTES made with a regular company and they would not have thought something was off?? I for one cannot believe that!
When things feed each other and grow in amplitude, that's not a negative feedback loop, that's a _positive_ feedback loop. The results be me subjectively negative, but that doesn't make it a negative feedback loop. Negative feedback is where parts of the system react to increases by other parts by decreasing ('negative') their own output/feedback, thus stabilizing the system overall.
This story needs to be made into a movie.. Not that anyone would believe it's a true story
Plot twist, his legal team was paid in phony bills.
Another great episode BTW. Jack you're the best! ❤❤
truely
Thanks Jack you outdid u ourself again
Thank you for creating this masterpices 🖤
Best podcast ever ❤
32:48 That’s a good idea to find a company outside of your own jurisdiction so that there’s no prosecution
They ought to turn this into a "Catch Me If You Can 02." He could craft a screenplay and sell it to Hollywood, making for a truly captivating watch.
@27:13 Anybody else get Catch Me If You Can flashbacks? Hanks interviewing those two guys
Guy 1 "Heidelberg"
Guy 2 echoing "Heidelberg"
1 "4 colors, a monster!"
2 "Monster!"
I cannot believe the whole money was in the truck lol, god bless his guy who moved it
Giugliano, near Napoli is the Capital of fake 20 euro bills. Neapolitans famously managed to peddle a 300 euro bill, in Germany. Frank, you got Skill! Sean from Naples, Italy
And that is why I only trust in 15€ notes... I exchange all my money to them with this friendly guy I met.
I worked on printing presses for a couple of years. The printing money joke is really frowned upon.
Holy Canole! I didn't think it could get any better.. then it did.
Amazing episode, thanks jack!
This guy is cool, love the ending!
Thank you Jack and Frank for telling the story.
Another tour de force. Excellent!
"Gonna look into that" 😆
Such a great story, 👍🏽

Love the pod!
Absolutely incredible content.
Love this channel. Thanks for the great entertainment.
Perfect timing once again
Adding visuals would be nice
Bro had the greatest opp sec this podcast has ever seen. He stayed 10 feet ahead 🤣🤣🤣
Dude should have just gone into legit printing at the point he had the press. I'm a flexo label press operator and the owner of the company started with another guy in his garage. Now he's completely hands off and let's his son run the current plant.
