    I'm literally crying in a café having my dinner now. I truly empathize with him. For those who have struggled with low self esteem, addictions and self sabotaging patterns, it's really difficult for us to believe and see that healthy way of living and being at one point. Now it's so lovely to see him overcomed his demons and it's such a hopeful story to share. Thank you for sharing this story with us!

    This is my story about my drug addiction.
    I have been battling drug addiction for 23 years and was fortunate not to be caught up with the law.
    However, what made me stop doing drugs was a heart attack following a binge use for weeks without much sleep.
    From the bottom of my heart, I urge everyone not to even dabble into substance use. It robs you of everything in life. you will suffer the inevitable mental issues related to drug use. You will lose your friends, family and career.
    I’m clean for 6 months now and thank god I am able to kick the habit. Unfortunately at this stage where it’s too late to turn back my body and mind from the damage inflicted by the decades of abuse.
    So please stay away from drugs. It’s really not worth it.

      I wish you can be kinder to yourself bro. Obviously, the choice to consume drugs wasn't simply yours to make, else you wouldn't have taken them for such a long period despite suffering from the side effects which only made you feel miserable after each use. Life is hard, and sometimes drugs are necessary to get us through the day. I hope you have found sustainable and healthier substitutes for drugs, my friend. Take care, and God Bless.

    Children at school who feel it is OK to bully and berate other children should be made to watch this!

    • @shariffaabdulrahman2516
      @shariffaabdulrahman2516 2 роки тому +6

      Actually it's their upbringing that makes them become bullies.
      Parents are to be blamed,.
      Many years ago I saw a mother telling her children to throw stones at a stray cat , she should at least tell them not to hurt any body even animals.

    • @seaglass22
      @seaglass22 2 роки тому +2

      @@shariffaabdulrahman2516 Whaaat? That mother would have been given a right old rollocking by me too! Well done Shariffa! So I agree with you totally, but I would add that at school kids sometimes succumb to peer pressure when it comes to bullying other children.

    Timely video, just finished the CNA series on life in max security. It seems a common theme among such success stories is the fact that they have someone
    ; a family, loved one to support them throughout the process of becoming a better person. However alot of ex-inmates and drug users come from broken or strained families. Such can be seen in a few of the inmates who have been featured who only have a single person to rely on. Once the thread that is holding them away from crime is broken they will very easily spiral back to their old lives.

      I beg to differ on this. Drug addiction does not choose its victims. Anyone can fall victim to addiction regardless of family backgrounds and stereotypes.
      I know doctors, lawyers and people in high places who are addicts.

    Wow Genn is extraordinarily strong. 👍👍👍
    Some people may think: he was weak, that's how he was taken over by a drug addiction. But no.
    Glenn had fallen so deeply into a pit, but managed to climb his way back out, turn his life around, and then go and take care of his parents!
    It takes incredible will power to get out of the drug addiction cycle. And then take on responsibility for his Dad & Mom. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍
