Thank you all for the feedback and concern, I genuinely appreciate it ❤Just to re emphasize; this is a very temporary tank, I wanted to start small because pea puffers can be finicky eaters especially when young and having a smaller space helps keep tabs on them and engage their eating behaviors, but they're ready for a new tank now :) And I'm preparing a 55 gallon aquarium for them as we speak
Love y'all
thanks for the update. Lets gooo!!! this tank will be good for them. will most of the animals that cant co-exist go in a different tank?
*READ TO THE END ITS VERY IMPORTANT) les go a upgrade, tho the only thing u should change then are the plecos, they will get absolutely house and bigger than that 3 or 5 gallon tank so i dont think it’ll fit in a 55 gallon either, also make sure not to have too strong filtration in that new tank, yes its a big tank but pea puffers arent really that great at swimming. also make sure to feed them less bc u added wayyyyy too many brine shrimp, anyway good luck with the new tank! i’m sure you’ll be able to pull it off. if u overfeed them SOOOO much ur also gonna ruin the water quality and the snails will overpopulate and ruin the water quality
Most thin fragile fin's of fish or frog would have a hard time with the puffer as-well
because they could get bullied along with a few other things in the tank.@@torosmm2
Let’s go!
And what is the excuse for putting the REST of the fish in that tiny tank? My solo Betta has a tank bigger than that thing. Kuhlis need a minimum of 20 gallons as they are very active. Corydoras like the albinos you picked up are schooling fish. They NEED groups of 5+ and tanks 20 gallons plus or they will stress and die. Those guppies are going to get nipped to heck. Also those puffers look absolutely EMACIATED. They need to be dewormed or you will likely lose them.
This COULD be an ok temporary tank without literally EVERYTHING ELSE in that tank. There is no excuse to abuse the rest of the fish
I'm glad you made this video so that I could use it as an example of what not to do for future aquarists.
i was sitting here like ok this is going to be cute... then BOOM overfeeding after over feeding, then overstocking the tank... F in chat...
I'm a new aquarist and I'm just looking at this shocked.
@@amberalbertinia1286 my jaw was hitting the floor the entire video LOL
@@Red_Scorpian it's insane. Spending literally an hour on the internet researching would have saved all these animals from being tortured in their own waste.

@@masterpython there something called growing out fish till there to big and getting them a bigger home. And here’s proof. 0:15
@@philseiberling9933 But here is the thing, he already maxed out his capacity. It doesn't matter that he is putting them in a larger tank later. With the amount he already has, he shouldn't have even put them in the tank to begin with. He also says he thinks it would be healthier for them to live with other creatures.... these are pufferfish. He clearly does not know how territorial they are in general. And they consume snails, so I don't even know where he was going with that. That is not a tankmate, that is dinner. But he claims he got them to keep stuff clean so that was not his intention. He also put in guppies which is one of the WORST things you can pair a puffer with. Those things are going to lose their dang fins.
@@philseiberling9933he has 16 pea pufferfish in this 8 gallon tank they are gonna rip each other apart before he even has the chance.
Nice job I own a pea puffer as well and there really cute but the tank is really small and a lot of the animals can't co-exist, and the large sum of food could cause an ammonia spike as well. and six kuhli loaches need at least 20 gal for 6 alone. and the pleco's grows massive average pleco needs tons of space. one pea puffer needs at least five gal and 3 gal for each extra one because they can be terrestrial. The dwarf frog and other fish could possibly get bullied by the pea puffer as-well. and the tank needs alot more plants so the fish feel safe. and Cody catfish feel safer in a group of 6. The crayfish could potentially attack others in the tank and needs to be separated. With about a 20 gall just for those fish is not enough for them and overstocked. LOVE YOUR VIDS THO!!
EDIT: I have just realized you said you would remove the plecos.

Nicely said. Those puffers are very aggressive even though they are so cute and tiny 🥹 I used to have one too. It was a 10 gal tank with just one puffer and the snails he would eat. So much attitude in such a tiny body 😂
@@ominous27idk if there aggressive, my neon tetra bit it for some reason and it swam away😂, but one of them did scare my Cory away even tho my Cory could absolutely body slam the puffer 😂

"What’s worse is, he has 16 pea puffers in a tank smaller than 10 gallons, and I don’t want to hear the argument that he is gonna move them to a bigger tank. He should have started them in a bigger tank; there is no excuse, and most likely, most of these fish will die from an ammonia spike or each other."
Pea puffers will nip on everything with fins (guppies) and they eat snails.
mine [I've got 9 of them, and we call them pygmy puffers in england] killed and ate an apple snail, which was the size of a fist.
They are voracious and will eat anything that moves. Mine are used to frozen bloodworms.
My pea puffers is friends with guppies
Also snails often carry parasites, they are bad for tanks
Just because it says fin niper don’t mean the fish will do it..
@@RookwingsKirk snails I can see that happening.
The rule for pea puffers is five gallons for the first puffer and +3 gallons for every other puffer you get. Pea puffers are also fin nippers and those guppies won't last long
Are pea puffers a freshwater species or do they require brackish water like the other puffers?
@@ProgressiveDiscussions pea puffers are a true freshwater fish and make a great pet. I strongly advise not following anything this dude did in this video because 90% of it is plain wrong.
@@Spark_Here I noticed that all of these videos uploaded and live streamed by so-called experts in the exotic pet an aquarium Hobby are all Overkill. All of the elaborate setups are for impressing people on the internet. All Aesthetics. Fish, just like reptiles amphibians and invertebrates only respond positively to the simple Basics needed for survival. Most of these Geeks are just showing off. By the way, are pea puffers communal fish or are they solitary like betta and paradise gouramis?
@@ProgressiveDiscussions
While most 'so-called experts' go overboard with things, there is a method to their madness. For example, plants in tanks are very good for the tank because they can remove nitrates from the water column that could hurt your fish. Think of plants as a natural filter. With a decent amount of plants, you can make it so you don’t have to do a water change as often. This is coming from someone who has 10+ years in this hobby. Also, your question about if pea puffers are social is that it all depends on what you are stocking them with and their temperament. Some puffers can be more aggressive than others, and even if they are not as aggressive, they have to be kept with fish that would not see them as a quick meal. So, anything fast-moving and peaceful would be a good choice. I’ve had good experience keeping them with danios, so I recommend them. But if you are just starting out with puffers, a species-only tank would be the best option for you. And it’s best to give each puffer 3 gallons, so a tank that’s like 15 gallons you could keep 5. Hope this helps!!!
@@Spark_Here I have plenty of aquatic plants in mine and you are correct about them.
I think the best way in a freshwater tank to deal with algae is using a lot of plants. Otherwise it can really get out hand and you might get some more unwanted algae that most fish aren't interested in. On the plus side having a lot of plants helps with oxygen and keeping the water clean.
A lot of non water plants are absolute monsters. Pothos are really cheap and easy. I took a bunch off a tank once and the tank within a week was blooming with algae and quickly got out of hand and I had to reset the tank. Showed how strong those things suck up nutrients.
I think that's too many fish in a small aquarium. Looks great though
He will give the fishes bigger tanks once they grow out of it
@@Definitely_SD_Ndosen’t matter pufferfish are territorial these puffer fish are prob left with themselves and there family for allege just introduce more plants bc there might be to much and there will be some the fish aren’t interested

did you know that in Danish the Yellow Box pufferfish is called the spottet suitcasefish, normally in danish pufferfish are called ballfish, but sinse this one is more box shaped we choose suitcase insead of well box or square wich would have both been more on theme as some would argue that a box is a shape, but it isn't it's an object and boxes come in all sorts of shapes. You might also have noticed that for some reason the Danish languege decided to focus on the fishes black spots rather than their bright yellow color. There could be a couple of reasons for this, the first one being that another yellow pufferfish species exists, but they aren't as spottet (meaning they do have black spots aswell, but not as many. Not that they aren't seen as often), the second reason could be that we looked at it and thought yellow pufferfish was to obvious a name, so we went for the black spots wich are a quite pretty feature of the fish. The third and most boring option is that it was discovered and named before we started printing/drawing in color, meaning that the danish guy who was shown a picture or drawing of the pufferfish wouldn't have ben able to tell that it was yellow, but could tell that it had spots. Ofc the 4th option is most people who name shit don't give a fuck. Like butterfly, it's not made of butter, but it does fly, though it is not a fly and in danish it's called a sommerfugl or summerbird, wich again isn't a bird, but they do come out in summer exept for the places where it's hot enough for there to butterflies year round, thank H.C. Andersen for this danish word that makes almost as little sense as the english equvilant

I love your videos, me my son and my mother are all fans and the tank looks really nice but i do have a few things i think you should think about. I really hope you cycled the tank before adding the fish cause that ammonia spike could be fatal. As others have said the tank is really over stocked, those puffers need a lot more space and can become aggressive towards tank mates and other puffers. That big snail wont last long with those puffers, they will pick at it until its dead. Also i believe your over feeding the puffers need at most 2 feedings a day or they will gorge themselves. Everyone makes mistakes in this hobby but we learn 😊
