I love how small Jerry's apartment is. It always drives me crazy when TV shows have a character who isn't supposed to be making very much money living in a 12,000 sq ft apartment in some major downtown area. Also, Jerry's living room is shockingly cramped with the 4th wall shown. I always thought of it as a welcoming large area, but with the table so close to the 4th wall it feels claustrophobic. I had never thought about how the 4th wall would change the apartment. Thanks for all your hard work!
Adding the 4th wall can make such a huge difference and for just the reason you said. When we are used to seeing it without the 4th wall, we picture it spacious. I don't know what my head pictures is there, but it's not a wall. 😂
I always thought he made a lot of money, but didn't spend much. He was playing himself, flying around the country doing stand-up dates. He had plenty of money.
Marina, you've done it again! One of my all time favorite shows and you broke down the appartment for us. First rate job as always! appreciate your work.
Awesome! But a correction. Jerry did indeed have an oven under the stovetop as seen when Kramer heats his clothes in it, in the Calzone episode. Likely, the bottle of booze was in a small cabinet beside the oven.
Thanks for adding that information. I hadn't caught that scene. My best guess is it came and went when they needed it for a scene, because we can see a drawer directly under the cooktop. That doesn't leave enough room for an oven. According to other comments, it was referenced - but not seen when George put his head in an oven too.

Love it! The colors are so stylish. There’s a sort of functional New York vibe about the place. It tells the story- like you’ve said. Cheers so fun, thanks!
I really enjoy your videos. It's such great fun seeing how these homes come together. Naturally, these are film sets--and the layouts attest to that. For example, no one in their right mind would have the sofa face the wall as it would if this were actually a real apartment. However, it's essential to position it that way on a film set since that's where the audience is. I always enjoy watching whatever you lay out for us, but if I get to cast a vote, I'll make another plug for the Murder, She Wrote House.
The UA-cam algorithm sent me to you this evening, Marina. What a delight! Can’t wait to go through other videos. “Seinfeld” is my favorite TV show, and I love NYC history, pop culture, and the NY Mets. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
I was excited for this one. Once again, Marina, you've done an excellent job. I remember Jerry ordering chinese and other delivery fairly regularly. When not eating at Monk's, the Pakistani-American restaurant, Kenny Roger's Roasters or waiting for a table at the Chinese restaurant, Jerry would subside on cereal at home. He was a bachelor, but also a big kid. He had a huge assortment of cereal for a single person. And I doubt he would have known how to roast mutton even if he had an oven in his apartment.
Fascinating! Thank you! Although it’s not a home I would love to see you tackle the station from WKRP. Regrettably I believe the show is unavailable to stream (music clearance 😡), so I imagine it would be impossible. 😢
That was fun! in addition to all the other things you mentioned that made the show so appealing, the other one was Jerry's apartment. I would love to live in a place like that in Manhattan!

Love seeing you deal with the inconsistencies of the layouts of these apartments or houses. I feel the only New York City TV condo unit that ever made any sense was Paul & Jamie Buckner’s in “Mad About You” (@ least in it’s original NBC’s 1990’s airing, inconsistencies there showed up in it’s brief revival back in 2018 in that strange add-on of their daughter’s bedroom). This is one of the reasons why I really want to see you get to a tour of Paul & Jamie Buckner’s condo unit soon.

Wow! I've just started this wonderful video. How neat to see the overview diagrams and photos. Camera operators/directors must know geometry or something because on TV the apartment looks like the corners are 90% (normal). 💡Have you thought of doing Laverne & Shirley's first apartment? Thanks Marina!
For an architect there are so many inconsistencies like the fact that the outside of the building is in california across the street is a taco bell plus the way you place the nook and the bedroom makes no sense what so ever on the way you angled the nook so some is spot on and some isnt, plus jerry did have an oven
I've always pictured his headboard against the wall where you've put the double window in his bedroom, and then a window on the far wall away from the door, overlooking the street. I've also noticed recently, while watching reruns, that the simple hook next to his front door changed multiple times. Marina, I'm always surprised you're able to nail these down so well.
Fantastic. Great job. But… one thing just jumped right out at me… that floor to ceiling pipe right next to the front door. At 2:02, and other screen shots, it looks to be nestled into a strange corner where the kitchen wall ends, but doesn’t go directly back to the wall of the door, but instead looks like it goes back about 90 degrees from the kitchen wall, going back only the distance of the pipe, before changing direction again, about 45 degrees, to become the wall of the door. But in your layout, you just have it situated at the peak point of the kitchen wall and door wall meeting as just two walls, with no indented corner for the pipe to be nestled into. At 3:51 we see a screen grab showing a hook with a coat attached to the small amount of wall behind the pipe. I’m not going to judge the accuracy of anything else, it all looked great. This one detail just jumped out at me for some reason. Probably because exposed pipes running through an apartment is not common… at least in places I’ve lived. Maybe it’s common in NYC. There appears to have been three of them in this apartment, so it must be common.

Sum Drucker's store - etc. Or how about a cartoon? (Ha!) Such as the Jetson's home. Or here's a curve ball for you: a layout of the "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" submarine! Thanks for all the hard work you put into these. Any update to the amusement park idea?
I've gotten The Jetsons partially started. Up next though I think I'm going to be doing Green Acres, so you may get part of that Henning world after all.

I've always thought the bedroom window was on the wall where the nook window is, thus it would be on the wall where the headboard is. The bed would then be where you have the widow. In the episode where Kramer and Newman are playing Risk and Newman sneaks into Jerry's apartment, he climbs out the window and up the fire escape, which in the exterior shots is on the same side as the nook window. I find it frustrating that the exterior shots of most places, on TV and in movies, doesn't match the interior layout.
You did a great job showing us the apartment. That show was most unusual. I always sat on the fence whether I liked it or not. All the actors themselves were great, but their characters were so shallow. I always thought, grow up! Carol from California
You did a great job on this one (well, all of them!) We laughed as hard watching your description of the scenes as we did watching the actual episodes. Please, please, please do the golden girls. And please explain the front exterior as well; I don't understand it based on indoor scenes.
Thank you. I love that it made you Crack up, just reliving the scenes. I plan on doing The Golden Girls. I already know the exterior simply cannot match up with what we are shown on the inside. I have a feeling it will be the TV home with the biggest inconsistencies.
Marina, I love Seinfeld and love your research and attention to detail as always is outstanding. I get your rationale for the window placement in Jerry’s bedroom; HOWEVER if you notice the shadow from Jerry’s pillow I would guess that the window would have to be placed on the opposite wall-to the viewer’s left (Jerry’s right.). Just an observation. I Loved the Easter eggs…I only caught two: The time magazine and Jujyfruits box. I saw the pretzels but didn’t make the connection. Brilliant! Your background research gets more detailed each time!
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I also thought of Raymond's house from Everybody Loves Raymond, especially the episode where his mother Marie backed her car into the house

Jerry had an oven In the episode where George's Parents decide to get a divorce George opens the oven door and sticks his head inside. I think it was the one where Jerry dates a Chinese woman who turns out not to be Chinese Donna Chang or Chang-stein/ There was also a controversy about Kramer's window re: Kenny Rogers Roasters and the layout of the the apartments and how he is on one side of the building and Jerry is on the other yadda yadda yadda.....

"That 70s Show" is a cool set!
One of your best!!! Well done.. now do Kramers apartment.. 😂😂
I wish her luck with that. There's so little ever seen of his apartment.
Thank you for an excellent video. I always enjoy watching your videos. They’re fun and entertaining. And I would love to see the Golden girls house next.
Thank you. I am currently planning on doing Golden Girls someday. I just have an ever increasing list of homes I want to do. I wish I had a clone or two. 😂
Love it! The colors are so stylish. There’s a sort of functional New York vibe about the place. It tells the story- like you’ve said. Cheers so fun, thanks!
😊
I really enjoy your videos. It's such great fun seeing how these homes come together. Naturally, these are film sets--and the layouts attest to that. For example, no one in their right mind would have the sofa face the wall as it would if this were actually a real apartment. However, it's essential to position it that way on a film set since that's where the audience is.
I always enjoy watching whatever you lay out for us, but if I get to cast a vote, I'll make another plug for the Murder, She Wrote House.
Thank you. And suggestion noted. 😊
The UA-cam algorithm sent me to you this evening, Marina. What a delight! Can’t wait to go through other videos. “Seinfeld” is my favorite TV show, and I love NYC history, pop culture, and the NY Mets. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Thanks. Glad you found the channel. 😊
😊
I LOVE it! Superb job as usual!! Thank you for what you do, it's so amazing to see these places in depth.
@@HappyWednesday13 Thank you. 😊
Fascinating! Thank you! Although it’s not a home I would love to see you tackle the station from WKRP. Regrettably I believe the show is unavailable to stream (music clearance 😡), so I imagine it would be impossible. 😢
I've had so many people ask for that one. I didn't know it wasn't streaming anywhere. Bummer.
That was fun! in addition to all the other things you mentioned that made the show so appealing, the other one was Jerry's apartment. I would love to live in a place like that in Manhattan!
@@JeffReed-c4o Yeah. It would be fun. I have made many other homes, too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ua-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
Thank you Marina.
😊
Great video.
I would love to do that one someday.
Great idea for a channel. You are very talented. Thanks for this.
@bobmilleit1976 Thank you. I'm glad you found the channel. 😊
When they "watch" TV, it's always straight on, not at an angle. I love the set.
I love the house on Charmed. That would be an interesting one to see you do. All the stained glass and that kitchen was lovely.
I've had quite a few requests for that home. I hope to get to it.
I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ua-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
You do such a great job with all your videos! I think doing the WKRP studios would be a great addition to your collection. Thanks!
Thanks Merina. I just recently completed Seinfeld on Netflix. Never really watched it when it was originally on. I'm ready to start again. Great tour!!!
Thanks. I had fun rewatching it to make this model.
I'm so glad you took the time to make these videos. I thought I was the only one who wondered what the rest of the "houses" look like!!!! I can't wait to watch more.
Love hearing that.
I'm not alone. 😊
One of my favorite shows! Thanks for this. Can’t wait for KofQ as well!!
I look forward to your videos, they are so well done. I had to laugh with that scene of George hanging out the window when he was in charge of moving the cars for alternate street parking, that was one of the many favorite episodes. I don't know if you did That Girl so I will check to see if you did. But if not maybe in the future? Thanks for a stellar job.
@Rocky-ry6uw Thanks. I plan to do That Girl, but haven't yet.
exactly! I think that friendship dynamic was a big part of
the success of Seinfeld.
I know I would have loved a group of friends like that. 😊

7:15 Music is giving serious Local on the 8’s from the Weather Channel vibes. 😂 Loved the vid as usual!
😂
Been waiting for this one. Great job as always. BTW s6 e4 The Chinese Woman, George puts his head in Jerry's oven located under the range top.
Thanks! Yes. Thanks. I wish I had caught that. Others on here have mentioned the scene where George sticks his head in an unseen oven, but the oven is implied because we hear an oven door open. Yet, we see a drawer underneath the cook top and there wouldn't be enough room for an oven under that. My guess is that when they needed an oven for a scene, they acted as if one was there. It definitely makes sense to have one under the cook top. Most apartments would have one.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane You're right. There was never one there.
Your passion is infectious! Keep it up!

BTW, I had some of those pot holders that hang on the fridge.
😆
Another Beautiful Presentation Marina :) The Safe Haven Feeling in the Inner Circle is My Fav 🥰I Became apart of Gang Indeed . Love to all of them & you Marina 💖Pray all are doing Well .& Thank u ... Suz
You are lucky indeed if you have a tight, safe friends group. 😊
Wow! I've just started this wonderful video. How neat to see the overview diagrams and photos. Camera operators/directors must know geometry or something because on TV the apartment looks like the corners are 90% (normal). 💡Have you thought of doing Laverne & Shirley's first apartment? Thanks Marina!
Yes. It's on my list.
For an architect there are so many inconsistencies like the fact that the outside of the building is in california across the street is a taco bell plus the way you place the nook and the bedroom makes no sense what so ever on the way you angled the nook so some is spot on and some isnt, plus jerry did have an oven
Another great job! Thank you! 😊
😊
I've always pictured his headboard against the wall where you've put the double window in his bedroom, and then a window on the far wall away from the door, overlooking the street. I've also noticed recently, while watching reruns, that the simple hook next to his front door changed multiple times. Marina, I'm always surprised you're able to nail these down so well.
That layout makes sense.
Fantastic.
I absolutely LOVE when others get into the details of these TV homes. Thanks for pointing this out. And, glad you liked the tour.
I have made many other homes too. You can see all of the other TV and movie home tours I've made here: ua-cam.com/users/MarinaCoavideos?view_as=subscriber
Boy, do I enjoy these tours!
I have lots of requests, but I'll limit it to just a handful for now:
You could explore the Paul Henning universe ... Beverly Hillbillies mansion ... Shady Rest Hotel ...
Love to see this. One that my family would love to see is the house from Home Improvement with Tim Allen.
I loved that home. 😊

I like this idea for the layout. 😊
Your videos are pure joy and you've inspired me to start paying attention to set layout and design. I always look forward to your next video!
I'm so glad! 😊
Omg! I am so excited to have found your channel! Love it!!
Yay! I'm glad you're having fun here.
You did a great job showing us the apartment. That show was most unusual. I always sat on the fence whether I liked it or not. All the actors themselves were great, but their characters were so shallow. I always thought, grow up! Carol from California
It was definitely one of a kind.
Married with children and ALF!! Love the channel!!
Glad you found the channel. Thanks for your suggestions. 😊
Thank you so much!@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane
I love your work. The apartment I would love you to do is Doris Day’s apartment in The Doris Day show.
Good suggestion. I love so many homes from her movies, too. She had "a type."
Marina, you're brilliant
Thank you!
Such great work Ms. Coates. I always enjoy your tours. Thank you.

I'd definitely love to see the Golden Girls home. It's so iconic! ^_^ Thanks for making these, they're so much fun & so interesting.
@@JHowesitgoing123 I'm glad you're enjoying them.
Good observation! And thank you.
Thank you for creating this, Marina. I have the suggestion for the house from the ABC sitcom Family Matters, which I watched growing up as a kid.
Thanks for the suggestion. 😊
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I also thought of Raymond's house from Everybody Loves Raymond, especially the episode where his mother Marie backed her car into the house
@@blue387 You're in luck. I've already done that home.
Another awesome tour, Marina!
Thank you!
I’d love to see you do the house from Reba. The inside and outside always crack me up because they are clearly not even close with how the front door and porch are but it would be fun to see you create it.
Sounds like a fun one to tackle. Thanks for the suggestion.

Lol. This is great bcz the inaccuracy of tv sets drive me nuts. 😁👍🏼
They seem fairly normal when you're just watching the show, but when you analyze the floorplan, it gets crazy. Every time. 😊

@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane Yes! Everytime. 😁 And in Golden Girls, they all often walk into that ‘first door’ to the right in the hall. Even Rose. Thats not Roses room! Not to mention you should be able to see Roses room thru the lanai window but its no where to be seen. 😆 NUTS! 🤪
@melanieramon6738 I haven't researched the home yet, but Golden Girls is the set that gets brought up the most on here for it's crazy inaccuracies. I can't wait to explore it.
Love the video! You really do your homework.
Wow, at first I didn't even remember the kitchen remodel, but now it seems vaguely familiar. Lol
Thanks for all your hard work, even though I'm certain you're enjoying every minute of it. 😊
Have a great week!
Thanks. And I am enjoying every minute of it. 😊
This channel is my favorite I love Marina her craft is amazing I used to say what is taking so long for new videos now I see she’s giving us the best. 😄 I would love to see the good Times house that’s my mama’s house the Cosby show house the mamas family house. Well I can go on and on and on 🤣 because the reason why this channel makes me happy is because this is when we had real television and the homes are being shown from real television generation. my generation , no crappy reality shows
😊 You made my day. And I sure wish these didn't take me so long. I have so many homes I want to do.

I loved 😍 the way Kramer 😂 came in 😂
Me too!
ROSEANNE NEXT! :) That's one where the interior actually seems like it might work in real life, although it probably doesn't match the exterior
I'd love to tackle that one someday. 😊
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane thank you for the amazing videos.
Do a tour of the Monkees Pad !!
I plan on it!
Windows on sets for tv shows seem to be in incongruous places often. In "Bosom Buddies" the window to the fire escape would actually be in the apartment next door.
😆
Loved it!! I’d love to see the home from The Bernie Mac show.
I think that's the first time that obe has been suggested. Thank you.

Yes. Thanks for adding that. Others have mentioned that too.It must have been one of those magical TV things that appears when needed, like the piano on All in the Family. 😊
Neat channel ❤. Maybe you should try a more modern TV show like The Office? Arrested Development? The study room in Community? Or maybe even something that is still on the air - the bar in Always Sunny? The house in What We Do in the Shadows? Or the home featured in Rick & Morty?
Thanks for the suggestions. I do have some more recent shows in mind on my list now. "Only Murders in the Building," for one.

Good to see a video from you. Ha ha, I live in Manila and I don't have an oven either , except I do have a toaster oven.
Do you just get used to it after awhile? We lived in a home for 6 months without one. No toaster oven either. I got creative with a griddle and crackpot. But, boy I was glad when I had an oven again.
@@MarinaCoatesMockingbirdLane I am used to it now. I've never seen a kitchen over here with an oven. I'm an empty nester so I don't bake or cook big meals any more. Mostly broiling meat , steam vegetables or stir fry. I can't wait to go back to the states and have an oven.
