OMG. I’m an English Teacher - there are a couple of hundred people out there who would love a Penguin series. The Flour one would make the best book end on a shelf, so many possibilities! My favourite video so far. You’ll struggle to stock enough in the Pottage for sure. You are such a well deserved success story. You go girl!
I have literally never been more GREEN WITH ENVY IN MY LIFE!!!😭😭😭 Those bad boys are COVETED and I can see why. I am so glad you got those, so happy to see you get such a gem of a mold.
Wow thank you! Yes I don’t actually know if I could make something better! They are just so glorious!! I’m hoping one day I can come across the tea canister and the lid for the flour jar! Maybe one day!
Hello! With the one that has a crack, you could just use a plastic container, even a cheap Rubbermaid - type, that could hold water so you can still use it for flowers!! Love all your "fabric" sides, SO cute!!! I'll bet you will be making many more of the small books, they will be fun to label for so many things!!!
hi Shelby, the size range went from Bread/Cakes, Biscuits, Flour, Sugar, Coffee, Tea then your Salt and Pepper. i personally haven't seen this mould set since the 90s when a lady in the swan hill area had her own ceramics shop and painting group.
I think a neat design for these would be making them look like spellbooks and maybe even using the gold luster on the words on the spine would be really pretty. I would love to have these in that kind of design for my own kitchen. Absolutely beautiful!
Welcome back! A though: use a copper pipe to make the holes so that they are always as consistent as you can make them, rather than carve them out by hand. You can get all sizes, cut some 3 inch long pieces and use them like cookie cutters to make the holes.
I audibly gasped when you revealed the Jane Austen one. I would by a full collection like that. They are stunning. I hope you use dried flowers in the flour one, it will look fantastic in the Pottage. And I really hope to see more on the website. Maybe the little ones could be done as a paint your own set? So happy to see you back
Those all came out so pretty! Maybe use dried flowers in the broken one? Or use another vessel to put inside it for fresh flowers? They're honestly all beautiful as just display :)
Yess that’s what I thought! The flour one that says ‘flour arranging’ makes so much more sense as a display than the others so I love that!! I just hope I can find the tea cannister down the line!

For a quick "fix" for putting flowers in find a glass jar that fits and place them in there, usually the jar remains unnoticed. Love the books, would definitely have a place in my collection!
I am so pleased with your book collection, they turned out so lovely. My favorite was the penguin edition of Persuasion. Not only is Jane Austen on of my favorite authors, but also my grandmother used to make a living from translating English into German after WWII. Her versions of several Austen books were published and reading them is like having my grandmother telling my the stories of my favorite author. 😊 All these book designs were so sweet and well done, that jar collection is something I would be hunting after to have at home.
These are stunning and I adore them! I think these molds would be great candidates for gold lustre. Details on the spine, the covers, maybe even some of the pages at the back, like old fancy books with gold on the outside. So delighted to see this series return, btw. I love that the Pottage has taken off for you, and have been happy to wait for the return of the series. You definitely came back with a bang!

Yes that’s what I’m thinking! Because the OGs are still the originals! I wonder whether they will make some changes to them or add extra spices and things! I’m so curious!!
I really want these in my kitchen. I do want them in a specific colour scheme to fit the style of my kitchen, so it’s so cool that these exist as moulds.
I've never really done ceramics.. I recently inherited a number of ceramics from molds made and signed by my grandmother.. lovely to see the type of process she went through to make the pieces!! I'm so happy to keep them in my home for years to come
It's amazing that this video came out around the same time as the announcement from Lenox about releasing a version 2 of the spice village! Anyway, as a bookworm I am OBSESSED with these! especially the herb shakers, if I could have like 10 of those to design for my main herbs I would be so happy!
We will always come back for this series! Love you work here! It reminds me of a medieval bud vase I saw in the Victoria and Albert. It was shaped like a book with holes in the top with flowers painted around it in gold. Love your design!
Thank you!! Hehe the haircut was a bit scary because I had filmed so much content that I hadn’t finished but I thought you guys wouldn’t mind if my hair changed in each of the new videos hehe
I have been seeing 1940/50 style women’s heads/busts with hats that are flower pots! They are selling around 300.00 for the large set! I am glad your back doing video’s, but I hope you can take some down time to enjoy your success with the pottage! On the subject of the pottage I wish I was closer to you I would be there all the time creating! When I was a young teen in the mid 80’s my favorite time of the week was when my mom would take to me to paint ceramics with her! Your videos make me think of good times, so thank you!
That little penguin book!!!! That'd be so cute as spice/herb jars, with herby book title puns (think like 'THYME goes by' and 'the book of SAGE advice' etc)!! 😍 I'm so happy you're back! I've missed your lovely videos on a weekend! Much love from the UK 😘
Oh my!!!!! Those are all absolutely adorable. With the seed shakers an idea might be to not open up the small top holes and shake them out from the base hole instead. The lid less container would be great for a kitchen utensil holder, too. Gorgeous colours and patterns. ❤❤❤
Oh my goodness, what a way to mark your return to YT with the most spectacular set! 😍😍😍 so glad to hear everything is going so well with the Pottage. Hope you’re able to able a little more down time for some well deserved R&R. Loved this video and welcome back!
I make books that are bound in fabric or beautiful designer paper and there is a whole community around what your concept is right here. It's called junk journaling ! I absolutely love these! They are stunning!
Shelby I LOVE this book set. You could also remove the titles and make it so whoever paints them could do their own titles or you could do a pre-order that would allow the customer to write in the titles they want and either you or a staff member could add the titles before it gets fired that way they could be used by different people in different situations like a teacher and the books could be different subjects. They could hold different types of materials a teacher might use like pens, pencils, clips, markers, stickers, labels for folders or tabs that are added to notebooks or a binder that has lessons for different parts of a unit, planners and grade books and many other things that they need to organize their materials. As a former teacher I would have loved having this in my classroom either on my desk or a bookcase next to my desk or area where I did assessments and various other tasks. They could be used in a home office or craft room sewing room. A writer or other professional could use it to hold office supplies or anything related to their work. You might even be able to modify a lid so one of them could hold tissues. The one without the lid could hold a small plant if you glazed the inside and possibly added drainage holes on the bottom and created a waterproof tray to the bottom to hold any excess water after watering your plant. With your skills and talent you could easily make one. They would also make cute cookie/candy/treat jars and you could customize it for whatever pets people have like cats, dogs, birds, etc... It would also look awesome to make some that look like vintage books such as classics like Jane Austin, LM Montgomery who wrote the Anne of Green Gables and a few other series of books. It would be really fun for someone who sews to hold their various supplies like pins, buttons, clips, special marking pens, and other tools like scissors, cutters, measuring tapes, quilting supplies or tools. There are so many different ideas on how you could use them or market them. When you got the call about the shed full of molds and such that the new property owner discovered you found a kilin in the shed at the time you said it looked almost in new condition, did it work or was it broken? I remember that you were excited about it when you discovered it while clearing out the shed. Whatever happened to it? Could it help you with firing the pieces done at the Pottage or in your studio?? I saw your post where you mentioned that you needed a larger kilin and that yours was having a hard time keeping up with the demand for firing new pieces and pieces after they were painted and glazed. Glad to have you back and seeing what you have been up to because I have missed your videos. So sorry that you have been dealing with the "influencer" who was creating drama and being rude over a mug. She clearly showed her ignorance on many different things in her comments and videos. It was very clear that she was trying to get attention and views and didn't care who she hurt in order to get what she wanted. Her behavior and actions/comments would definitely not make her parents proud of her and what she said and did. She was obviously ignorant of how large a following you have compared to her. It's terrifying to think that she is an example of the younger generation and how they treat/use others to make get attention or clout at the expense of other people and they don't care who they hurt along the way.
Never have I wished to be near you more than now! I would do whatever it took to attend the Pottage and make myself a set of these! Your designs turned out entirely too adorable! The idea of doing them up as actual books is perfect - it would be lovely to see a set of them where the book title actually incorporates the name of the spice/contents of the cannister.
I am beyond happy to see you back on the platform with a book serie ! As a future bookseller I would love love love to offer a collection of these as vases or book ends. I feel as if your craftmanship refined with the years and your use of colors is sooooo delicious. I'm in love with this serie.
I saw the shorts and needed to see the full video ❤. I think the little houses are cute but I’m a book girly, so I would love to see and hopefully own little books that are spices. Like all spices not just the main stream one’s. Imagine each spice book with the spice flower or plant that it’s made from? Love this ❤
These are so cute!!! I think they would be great to keep absolutely anything in and you have loads of creative options with them! Please share if you do more of them.
What a cute collection! Fingers crossed that the flour lid will show up and possibly the tea canister. Love how you decorated them and such a great idea to make seed shakers.
Shelby, you could recreate the lid for the flour canister yourself. You have two examples, and you're definitely talented enough to make a mould for it.
My mom has the entire House Lenox collection from the 90s. The collection also has two flower planters, the canisters, and the spice rack that comes with it too. It is my favorite in her kitchen ❤
I actually got teary eyed seeing these! My Mamaw had something very similar in her home and it made me think of her and how lucky i was to have her. I didn't have the greatest parents but I did have great grandparents. These are just lovely! My favorite so far.
Your artistic expression is so fun and your videos make me smile. I LOVE your artistry! It's been wonderful watching your journey through these molds. Thank you for creating this channel!
These are GORGEOUS!!! What a great find!! I was curious and searched online, the set (with the tea canister, but minus the shakers) is selling for $3800!! I love your channel! You are just such a ray of light and it is a joy to watch you create. Love from Labrador, Canada! 🇨🇦💗
My husband and i love to read and really like to cook together. A set of the small books for all our spices would fit us perfectly. But alas we are stateside so appreciating from afar is what we'll have to do for now. You do such lovely work.
Oh don't give up on the Flour vase. I'm sure you can find a clear sealant for the bottom. I do remember seeing the advertisements for that Lenox spice line. I didn't get any, young kids other things to buy. I've liked many of your pieces. But I think this is up there with my favourites. You a very cute design work on the covers.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹📚
Oh I haven’t!! I just need to figure out a way to rescue it!! I think I could put a water tight sealant in there or a tub like someone else suggested! Thank you so much for the love!! You are so kind ❤❤
I am so so happy that the pottage is doing so well and that you’ve been busy with that, but gosh, I missed you and your videos! Thank you for squeezing this in to your schedule for us! Your videos really feel like such a treat 🥰
I think it would be so cute if you made a spice series that were all different species of mushrooms. That would look ADORABLE on a wooden shelf. Very whimsical.
For the glazed over holes, I have had luck using a drill and normal (small) bit. I have a second person hold carefully while I drill. I love these by the way! Precious set!
Thank you for this suggestion!! Yes I think I might try it! It’s not the end of the world as the salt and pepper ones are fine! But the seed shaker ones are a little bit funky!
What a fun find! Would your clients let you show their creations? It would be a fun and inspiring video to see a batch of the Pottage pieces. 😊 My nieces and their families took my sister and me to my own at a shop and we all painted pieces. Such a great day.
I reckon the gold luster on the book pages would look amazing also. I remember as a kid, having a couple books (1 was the bible) that had the gold page edges, and I loved flicking through them and watching the pages flash gold. I love this set! And I love that you drew inspiration from the vintage styles with the material/patterned covers.
The shape of the cannisters with the front being smaller and the back being wider leads me to see them making a rounded shape when they're next to each other. It makes me think of them tucked back into a corner on your kitchen counters - in a spot that might be too deep for items that you need to get to often. These are stunning, Shelby. Well done!
You can use the cracked flour jar for things other than flowers, like extra paint brushes. But you can also make a bunch of ceramic flowers to put in there!

Aw, kitty loves the pottery! Great collection and I love the little books! Always fun to watch you create amazing designs from plain clay!
The Coffee of the World book?! 🤯 it’s beautifully perfect 😍
These are my absolute favourite pieces you have ever done
So happy that you are posting your pottery making it brings me so much joy and this artery work is so beautiful it’s giving me country vibes
I have missed your videos so much! Congrats on all of your professional success and bravo for finding the balance for your health and personal life.
It would be cute to do a full spice set of just the blank ones, paint them according to what spices they hold and put them on a bookshelf rack! 😍
Your artistic expression is so fun and your videos make me smile. I LOVE your artistry! It's been wonderful watching your journey through these molds. Thank you for creating this channel!
Absolutely fantastic - I’d love them in my kitchen
You and me both! I just hope I can eventually source the rest of the series!
I'd LOVE to have these in my kitchen! I'm a book lover, so this stuff is right up my alley.
Oh don't give up on the Flour vase. I'm sure
you can find a clear sealant for the bottom.
I do remember seeing the advertisements
for that Lenox spice line. I didn't get any,
young kids other things to buy. I've liked many of your pieces. But I think this is up there with my favourites. You a very cute
design work on the covers.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🌹📚
Oh I haven’t!! I just need to figure out a way to rescue it!! I think I could put a water tight sealant in there or a tub like someone else suggested!
Thank you so much for the love!! You are so kind ❤❤
I am so so happy that the pottage is doing so well and that you’ve been busy with that, but gosh, I missed you and your videos! Thank you for squeezing this in to your schedule for us! Your videos really feel like such a treat 🥰
The spice books would be so cute as single stem vases for tiny flowers too! Obsessed with your book cover designs! 😍
I think this is one of the most favorite things you’ve done.
I think it would be so cute if you made a spice series that were all different species of mushrooms. That would look ADORABLE on a wooden shelf. Very whimsical.
These are adorable - as is your enthusiasm for bright colors and patterns. I love watching this!
Oh Shelby you are so talented!!! Everything is so creative and beautifully done. What an artist you are. ❤
Thank you ❤❤❤❤
What a fun find!
Would your clients let you show their creations? It would be a fun and inspiring video to see a batch of the Pottage pieces. 😊
My nieces and their families took my sister and me to my own at a shop and we all painted pieces. Such a great day.
Oh absolutely! We actually share a lot of people’s works on The Pottage Instagram page!
Well done!
Shelby, could you pour slip into the bottom of the flour canister to make a base to create a top? 😉👍❤️
You can use the cracked flour jar for things other than flowers, like extra paint brushes. But you can also make a bunch of ceramic flowers to put in there!
My mom worked in a library (and still works with kids) and I myself am a preschool teacher! These are perfect!!
