Alex, excellent choice. I ordered the same boot. The total time was 14 weeks. I went with the same leather combo but with honey vibram soles and 8 inch top. It took 75 hours to break them in about 80%.
Looks great. Four years ago I got a pair of Lace-to-Toe Hot Shots, which are Nick’s 10” fire boot. It is the same design with rough-out toe and heel counter and I find that they are great for hiding scuff marks on the leather. This past year I bought myself a 6” version (but from White’s) in distressed brown rough-out leather to allow for some variety. I found that my Nick’s took about a year of casual wear and hiking to get comfortable, but my White’s have been pretty comfortable after just a week or two. I like your pair, and I am letting the black edging of my boots wear off because I too am liking the look and contrast of natural leather.
Thanks! After all the crap boots I've bought over time, and how much I've spent on motorcycle boots, the price of the Nicks are actually low for what you get. The quality and fit from doing custom fitting is unrivaled. It's going to be tough to buy anything off the shelf again.
