Awesome job you inspire me to tear down my sons yz85. When's the next vid coming of the start up?

So many projects, so little time. Hopefully upload the next vid this weekend. Had a few issues with the gas tank during start up ...namely cracks and niagara falls sized leaks that were hidden under layers of paint.

My 2010 yz85 had a leak in the jug witch cased the piston to cease, I took my engine off my bike to find out my front sprock welded on how should I go about it?

Your drive sprocket is welded on? Never ceases to amaze me what some folks will do to a dirtbike. Best bet would be to grab a dremel tool or similar and carefully grind away the weld. Unfortunately the likely problem is they stripped the end of the output shaft on the transmission or splines. Not an easy fix unless youre willing to split the cases and replace the output shaft. There are probably tons of used parts for it though the YZ 85 is a very popular bike.

My clutch lever has no tension. Thought it was my cable broken but it is not. What could it be ???

Does the clutch lever on the cover move when you pull the lever? If not check the 'bracket' on the engine side, common for them to break off and the cable to move around. On this machine I cheaped out and made a new bracket that has worked for...3 seasons now so I must have done something right.

@@SchnebsGarage no tension on cable at all. That arm by hand you can lift all the way up and push down w/no resistance.

@@DirtbikeDad Sounds like you need to pull that clutch cover and get dirty. Something has gone awry in there, my bet is it'll be pretty obvious once the cover is off. In my experience these things are often JB welded or held together with chewing gum and tape if you've bought it used. So dont be shocked to find all manner of oddities under that clutch cover if thats the case.
