This was the MiG-35's scheduled display for the 19th of july of 2017 in the MAKS airshow flight program in Zhukovskiy, Moscow region.
Mikhail Belyaev (Михаи́л Алексе́евич Беля́ев), test-pilot of the 'Mikoyan Gurevich' design bureau and Hero of the Russian Federation really knows how to pull an exciting flight performance out of these MiG jets!
The MiG-35 two-seat multifunctional frontline fighter is designed to engage air targets in any weather, day or night, destroy moving and fixed ground (surface) targets, as well as to facilitate in-flight training of flying personnel.
The MiG-35 can effectively accomplish a variety of missions, including combat air patrol, air target interception, escort of attack and military transport aircraft, striking against ground targets, air support of ground troops and landing forces, battlefield air interdiction and aerial reconnaissance.
The fighter carries modern targeting and navigation system, quadruple redundant fly-by-wire flight control system, radar and optical locating systems, helmet-mounted targeting and display, communications and self-defense equipment, cockpit instrumentation and other aids that working together provide high flight safety, effective use of weapons, as well as precise navigation. Its arsena includes short and medium-range air-to-air missiles, air-to-surface missiles, guided aerial bombs, unguided rockets and bombs, and an internal gun. Owing to a wide range of weapons coupled with its excellent flight performance, the MiG-35 offers high combat effectiveness.

Часто приходится слышать не верные представления о МиГе 35. МиГ-29М2, собственно это и есть 35-ка. Давайте по началу. Конструкторы во всем мире пришли к мнению, что многоцелевые ударные истребители должны строится по принципу спарка. С двумя пилотами. МО заказало и КБ Микояна исполнила заказ в МиГе 29М. Потом был вариант корабельный с литерой "К". Индусы захотели 29К, но в сухопутном варианте. Тогда и был сделан МиГ 29М2 для Индии. Истребитель получился легче, за счет иъятия из конструкции тормозного гака, соответственно и консолей для складывания крыла, шасси было переделано (усилено) для посадки не оборудованных электричеством аэропортов и просто на отсутствие посадочной полосы. Оставленно было специальное антикаррозийное покрытие. Была заменена полностью старая на новую авионика и силавая установка РД-33 МТ. Вот этот истребитель носит теперь литеру 29М2. Конструкторы признали его новым самолетом и назвали его (в русской версии он не много отличим от индийского) МиГ 35.
После демонстранционных полетов мировые конкуренты от омерики до китайцев обрушились на МиГ 35 с надменной критикой мол у него щелевая РЛС "ЩЕЛЬ - ЗУМ", что силовая без управляемого вектора тяги (и кто бы верещал, только не амеры, позорные). На самом деле у 35-то стоит АФРАР (активная фазированная антенная решетка), и без него новая авионика будет слепа и глуха, о чем знают прекрасно конкуренты. Плюс к тому, помимо воздушных целей 35-тый видит надводные корабли - большой корабль на 250 км, а малый ракетный катер на 150 км!!! На новом двигателе действительнл нет всевекторного отклоняемого сопла, но именно на этот тип двигателя он устанавливается без проблем. Все прекрасно знают акробатические номера МиГ-29М/ОВТ. Это именно тот двигатель и оборудован с всеракурсным отклонением. Китайцы предъявляют к вооружению 35-го, но китайские подделки амерских ракет хоть и отличаются на 20 % выше точностью, но летят 18 км от нашей 40км. Не в этом суть, но все же.
Главная цель КБ МиГа была достигнута во всех 29-ках и 35-том. Один планер, с минимальными конструкционными изменениями. У первых 29тых даже рама от плафона одна и та же с МиГом 35!!! А второе место пилота достигнуто за счет уменьшения топливного бака кабины на 250 кг. Это дает возможность легкой модернизации всех МиГов до современных многофункциональных истребителей 5 поколения (я не ошибся с поколениями, потому что скоро мы увидим модернизированную 35-ку в пятом поколении!!!) Да, в 35-том четыре генератора. Два стартера, которые могут дать возможность проверить все агрегаты истребителя, без подключения внешнего электричества и самой работы собственного двигателя. То-есть полная автономность в обслуживании.

Еще раз спасибо за видео. Добавлю еще немного. У МО РФ очень большие планы на МиГи 29К и 35 и на заложенные в них перспектиное развитие. Так что многих "хоронильщиков" КБ МиГ ждут "неприятные" сюрпризы. Как говорили мудрые японцы -- Все что красиво - правильно!)))))

Немного не так. "ЩЕЛЬ-ЗУМ", это не РЛС,а нешлемная система целеуказания! РЛС на МиГ-35 планировалась из семейства Н010,а именно изначально заявляли о "Жук-А" с АФАР,но в серию пойдут скорее всего, версии "Жук-М" с щелевой антенной,как и на МиГ-29КР/КУБР. Всё дело в том,что "активный Жук",пока задерживается. Существуют только прототипы,которые пока ещё далеки от идеала. Хотя может, быть и успеют довести до ума. И двигатели не РД-33МТ,а РД-33МК.

I bet the Russians will be glad when they can actually put the MiG35 (and the similar Sukhoi 57) into combat service. They've only built about ten of these things since 2007 and as far as I know, pre-production testing and trials is as far as they've gotten with them as of December 2020. Continued engine and avionics issues seems to be what's holding them back. Good looking piece, though.
The 57 is in active service already. The MiG-35, well... will have to wait a bit longer I guess. Bet Russia already spends a lot in fighter jets and the 35 wasn't at the top of their priority list ;)

Just can’t understand why the MIG has not yet gone to thrust vectoring which is becoming a common place characteristic of the modern fighter jets?
Thrust vectoring adds complexity, increases costs of operation/maintenance and adds weight to the airframe. Since the RuAF is already heavily equipped with thrust vectoring aircraft, it is probably wiser to diversify and get a 'cheaper' modernized version of the MiG-29 -> The MiG-35.
It's a pitty though because the MiG-29OVT was a BEAST with the TV nozzles!

Lo he visto referido tanto como MiG-29M2 como MiG-35. Básicamente son el mismo avión.

I have no idea why the americans consider their F22 and F35 (stealth) fighters superior to the Migs and Sukhois.
Well, technically speaking stealth offers advantages.
Assuming that these advantages will be the turning hand in each and every conflict is short-sighted IMO.
Applying F-22/35 concepts to other aircraft seems more reasonable to me ;)
