What a way to kick off the New Year! I love this journal although I fear I am not organized enough to use it effectively. I do desperately need an idea/instruction journal so I will probably give this a shot. I’ll keep you posted. 😅 Please never apologize for your English, it is terrific. I can never fathom how you come up with new ideas, do two videos with one in a language that is not your native language, edit them, upload them, read comments, create digitals, answer emails, pay your bills, make for Tim Holtz , still have time to sleep and eat, maybe spend time with friends or Hubby (who is not your hubby) and now we find out play the saxophone! You are a marvel and I ❤ you! Looking forward to being amazed and inspired in 2024.
@@TrishDarbonne Brush?.......I never brush my hair. Getting help with a massage bath once a month, washing my hair then. My hair is always in a bun. Your lucky - lol♥
Louise, you shouldn't feel embarrassed about words because English is not your mother language. You should feel proud because you already speak better English than some people who live here. I wish those people would give as much time and dedication to learning to speak English.
Oh LUISE! I must be having an emotional new year. Hearing you talk about finding the right words was so heartwarming in more ways than you might think. I’m also a junk journaler and I’m an eclectic creative artist. I have my own little UA-cam channel where I get to connect with a few like minded people out there in the world who seem to share my arty inclinations too. I like the sense of being able to share a bit of arty play with a few others. It’s less lonely. The junk journaling community has been wonderful for me. One of the reasons I pursued this was because I’m a mum, but also a full time carer for my teenage boy. Both my boys have some neurodivergent disabilities, but my youngest also can’t speak. He has some words and can say some things, but finding the words is extremely difficult. The older he gets, the less patient people can sometimes be. It’s hard for him. Hearing you talk about the warmth of this community made me remember that most people are amazing - but also - what a difference it really makes when we just take the time to listen to someone and connect. He and I do lots of art together and it’s our language, along with music and movement. It’s how our whole family connects. Dad (& my hubby) is a musician & as I say, I’m an artist. Creativity keeps this family afloat & helps our hearts sing together. Big brother is a natural performer & creative too. And that creative spirit is how we all communicate with you, LUISE, too. I feel like it helps me understand you a little better thinking about your English from the perspective of my son. It makes me feel even more connected (from a distance all the way over in Australia). I know I’m very strange, but thank you for everything you bring to us 😘
I’m a follower of yours too, I also got a bit emotional hearing her talk. You’re not alone. 😊 Music and Art have always been my creative outlets (for my Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, & other health issues) and both have been ways of connecting with others. So I can totally relate to what you’re saying. Music and Art are in essence both universal languages that can touch the heart in unexplainable ways. If I had to choose between the two, I just don’t think I could do it! They’re both vital to me and my overall wellbeing. Anyways…HAPPY NEW YEAR Jen!! ❤
You sound like such a wonderful family! The rest if us cannot appreciate how differently you must have to communicate or at least the level of patience you practice. Your sons are blessed!
This is an amazing journal and a perfect storage spot to save those goodies. Reminded me of a friend's father who made a small box to put all the odds and ends of little things you find on the floor. He called it his "God knows box" because you never know what it came from when you find something.
Your English is beautiful. Please don’t worry about not saying things right. Those of us with English as a first language don’t get it right a lot of the time either! I love when you do literal translations. Never change xxx
I just wanted to let you know that we may not be biological family, but we meet on this platform as a creative family. You are an inspiration to anyone who watches you. Thank you for your creativity and inspiration. From your creative family in FL.❤
The way we say it is, “your English is good, you speak well.” You are so fun to listen to because of the joy and laughter you express. I think if we don’t watch consistently, we don’t get alerts to new content. I have been away too long i guess. You are so so so creative and in a unique way! I have missed you! You are the kind of person we wish we lived near! That we would want to spend days with doing creative things. How i would love be at a creative retreat with you! I actually do scrapbooking and not junk journals but your tutorials are so fascinating that I watch!
This is an amazing project! You are SO thorough with your explanations of why you're doing so many of the details. I recommend you to everyone for journal making. These videos always make me feel so close to others, and I consider them friends as well. I only wish we could be closer and come to each other's little messy places and play together with our ideas and beloved papers and glue. My grandparents were German and spoke it fluently. Wish I'd been taught as a child. I think probably they wanted to blend in quietly here given the time period.
This idea is amazing!!! I, too, feel like you are in my craft room with me. It would be so fun to have coffee with all of junk journal community and craft. When I found your channel, I was just starting to explore mixed media, and your style made my heart jump. Following your creative journey has been joyful and inspirational. May your year be full of ideas and may you never have bitchy thread again 😆
I love this idea because When I’m searching for something I want to use and I find something also, I always forget where I saw it and hours or even days going thru all my JUNK! I also like the idea of making notes like when an idea comes to me and I’m in the middle of something else I can write it down. You are amazing! Thank you.
24:38 This is how children learn their native language, through context. What an amazing job you have done in the last few years learning more subtleties of another language. Your English is pretty fluent at this point. You use words many people who’s native tongue is English don’t even know yet. What an inspiration you are to those who come to your channel! Love watching you experiment! ❤
Luise, your English is ever so much better than my German, and I would estimate, most of your viewers. I love to listen to you as you create. The occasional struggles are charming even as I try to fill in for you. Don't worry about this and keep on creating!
Oh Luise, don't worry or be frustrated about your English. We are patient and understanding. English is a weird language, that is so true. You should hear me speak German. You would get a great laugh with my southern accent. I love your creativity. You have so many wonderful ideas and are so inspiring. Give yourself some Grace. You are doing well. Thank you thank you for letting us follow you on your journey.
Love the pouches. I am the kind of person who always needs an 'emotional support bag' (or 2) with me to slide things into. Two pouches for a journal cover is adorable.
I have so enjoyed watching you grow as an artist, and I am constantly amazed and inspired by your creativity and ability to show us how to achieve what you do. You make me feel like I can do things too!
I personally think your English is spectacular! And even when you may not know an exact word or the “proper” way to say something, I think that’s it’s cute…just the way you say things, your sense humor, etc…it all just makes you that much more amazing! You’re just an awesome human and we are so lucky that you share your art and yourself with us all! Happy New Year Luise! 🎉 And Happy New Year to all my fellow Junk Journalers, paper lovers, artists, and the like! ❤
What a wonderful project. I just ordered my pouches from Amazon. Can’t wait to get started! You answered so many of my questions, some of them I didn’t even know I had. Thank you Luise for the way you strive for excellence. I have learned so much from you.
Your English is 95 times better than my German! And yes, empathetic is a word, and you used it correctly! You are so cute, and I wish I could hug you too, and spend more than a day to learn just a pinch of what you know , crafting, and German! I am only 20 minutes into your video, the bags are beautiful and to me they look like a beautiful countryside scene. Can’t wait to see what you do with it . Time to quit chatting and get back to my video!😂
Louise, I'm so glad I found your channel! I really enjoy watching your videos. Your voice and speech are lovely to listen to, and your art inspires me to try new things. Thank you for being you! 💕
Your "weird" english is part of your charm!🙂 My english is like yours😊, because I'm Norwegian. I love your videos, your style, your "scientist brain" and your humor!😊
Ok my favorite line from this video is “ don’t ask why I have so many letters leftover, I am Luise Heinzl, this can happen on my desk.” That should be in a frame sitting on your desk. “ I am Luise Heinzl this can happen on my desk.” Look at you just embracing all the chaotic wonder that breeds creativity!! I love it! This project is just what I needed right too! I think I will use Barbara’s palate bag soft cover idea with the flapped pocket on the side. 🤔 I think I will make both ends of the cover pocketed and I will take your idea for a firm spine and combine them to make this wonderful “ no idea” idea. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us in your real and natural manner and for an exciting start to 2024.
Great idea. Loved "bitchy thread" 😆. Your wish for the new year was a sincerely loving thought. Also, I totally agree English is very hard even as a native speaker - I enjoy listening to you.
When discussing the length of thread, I think the word you were searching for was “manageable”. Once again, your English is great! What a unique idea and purpose for a journal! You never cease to amaze!
Happy New Year! 🥳You are so amazing... thank you for sharing this amazing beautiful idea and giving us such detailed instructions on how we can accomplish it as well. 🥰💖
Oh my goodness!!!!!!! I love this idea. And there is still enough room to add a few thin papers with paper clips. And big chunky things in the ouch! Oh my goodness. I love this thing!!!!!!💚🖤💚
I love the way you speak. I love listening to you. When you don’t know a word, it’s adorable. Don’t change. There a few ppl I watch, with English being the second language and I always love listening to them. I love accents. ❤
Empathetic IS a word and it’s the correct word. Your English is excellent. I remember the first thing I thought about you was that it’s amazing that you can be so funny and informative in a language not your first. All I can say in German is “Where is the airport?” I never get to use it!
Your English is amazing! I did not know at first that there was an English version, so I was doing my best with German. You never fail to cheer me up. I am grateful to have found you.
Your English is fabulous! We should be so lucky to speak 2 languages! Love your chats and your beautiful art! Watching your videos is like chatting with a friend 😊
Hello from ☔ rainy Seattle. This is my first visit and I assure you, it will not be my last. I am new to my junk journaling. I am so happy to have found you. What a clever idea using the canvas pouches for the covers of this journal. It just great. I will be visiting often. Thank you for sharing you talent with all of us. I'm so inspired. ~Susan
Luise you are just a fabulous crafter, if you were not, your following would be a lot less. We as women should recognize this and embrass it. Never ever feel that way and don't loose your humour too, big hugs.
Amazing!! You really take ideas to the next level! You are so inspiring! I am just starting on a journey in journaling…. You channel and Etsy store are amazing. I love the idea of a pouch with my journal - a place to save little bits that help me journal. 🎉
I love that you see us as friends. You are someone who would make a great friend for us too. Your ‘weird’ English is amazing and you manage new words really well. Empathetic for example 👍🏻. I think I need at least a dozen of these no idea pouches as I have so much stuff and not much time when I can use it. Another great idea x
Of course you are my friend. I also don’t have a large number of friends. I need you to be my friend also. Love this project. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦. Happy New Year 🎆
Your so inspiring and wish you could come and spend the day with me crafting together !!! I pray your new year will be filled with joy happiness more great crafting ideas lots and lots of videos !!! I love hearing you talk !!! And so does my hubby. I wish I could think up new ways to use my papers I’ve been try to get lots of ephemeral made up and ready to use in my journals. And please don’t apologize for your English you do wonderful when you speak English ❤ love your speech!!! So glad I found your channel!!!🤗😘♥️♥️♥️🥰
Yes, "holy crap" is used correctly and in the right context. Your use of the English language is excellent for being your second language. It is my first and only language and I have problems thinking of the correct words to say. Keep up the great job. We love you!❤❤❤
Let all our ideas become even more in 2024. Louise, thank you for sharing all your imagination. It makes me so happy to see your ideas presented on your UA-cam channel. I wish you with all my heart a fantastic good continuation in 2024. Maybe there will be a dragon in your journal.
What I REALLY love about your tutorials is the details!!! Why you do something, and why we might want to. You always tell us why you’re doing something that will make a difference in the final piece. In my opinion, you are one of the BEST teachers out here. Your attention to important details are VERY gratefully appreciated!❤️👏🏻😊 This pouch journal is so creative and cool!! Thank you😊
What a great journal! I think it is a great idea. I love that you are divergent in your creating. You speaking about pink reminded me of many years ago when I was teaching a special needs class at a secondary school. I often wore pink and when I did the kids would chant, "pink is punk and punk is stink Ms I". Such a memory made me smile.xxx
Perfect timing Luise, this pouch journal would be great to take to Spain with me this winter! I just love how yours came out, it is gorgeous! Before I forget, I am so glad the Sizzix is making the birdies in a larger size, I have wished for this many times. They are my favourite dies. Your instructions are very detailed and clear so I hope many of your viewers will expand their skills and grow in 2024, we all hope to grow as artists or creators. You are an amazing teacher and encouraging person and you are doing exactly as you are meant to do! I wish you could spend a day with me and hug me too!🤣🤣 you do indeed feel like a dear friend, you and Barbara are my best art buddies! Being a native German speaker and learning English is huge, I can’t believe how well you do, you are so charming when you struggle with words, you make me smile! You have had an exciting 2023 and wish for you even more opportunities in 2024! May you have good health, peace and prosperity! Thank you for always filling my head full of ideas to try and courage to try them! Love you!💕🇨🇦
Great video to start the year! I have a thing for collecting pouches and filling them with bits and pieces/this and that. I love this idea for ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your process. Saving this to go back to again and again! Happy New Year🎉 ❤
I wish I had seen this a few months ago. I wanted to make a journal for my mother in law to use for her daily prayers. I noticed she has pictures of people she is praying for throughout her bible. They are all different sizes and they fall out, etc. I WANTED pouches but didn't know how to incorporate them into her bible journal. I ended up just adding a lot of tuck spots, etc. for her to put her pics and then write down her favorite verses from the bible. Or make notes for WHY she is praying for that particular person. But THIS would have been so perfect!!!!! I could have still included the tuck spots for people she only prays for as they need it but the pouches would have allowed her to put the pictures of her family members, etc. who she prays for everyday. I do love your "ideas" journal and think it's an amazing idea and one that I really need. So I will make an idea journal for me and maybe another prayer journal for my mother in law. Loved the whole thing!!!!
You are using english words that most Americans never use. empathetic… I only found you this summer with your amazing Halloween Tim Holtz altered book makes….I can put miniature vignettes together easily… Now I am trying to lean how to “build” paper journal pages from you. THANK YOU from Destin Florida!
Blessing and the best for you in this new year. This is such a great idea! Not because I do not have ideas, but because I have so many ideas, I can't keep track of them. Yes, I will make a Many ideas inventory pouch journal. ❤
This is a great idea! I have so many inspiration pieces that as you said get hidden from sight and forgotten! Thank you for taking the time to explain how to decide how many sheets per signature, how to space them etc.. I have been watching JJ videos for years and have made four or so but still learn new things every day because people, such as yourself take the time to teach from experience!! TFS! Hugs!
I love this! What an amazing idea for a journal and honestly I am most intrigued by the pouches and the way you altered them. That just looks like so much fun! Beautiful work!
I’m WOW’d again by your genius! I so wish I had your creativity finesse. Can’t wait for the next adventure you take us on in our world of junk journaling.
Great idea. I often find things in my stash I want to use while I am working on something else. This journal would be a great place to put them until I finish what I am working on.
Creativity requires FEEDOM. I always wonder why they didn't kill Hieronymus Bosch. Strange world we are livin' in. Because you always have fantastic ideas, I wish you health to be able to live it! Hugs from Berlin!
Oo that could be a cool journal theme - Faux leather & paper lace 🤔 Ok random thought aside, you totally underestimate how amazing your English is! And how much those of us who don’t speak German, truly appreciate that you make two sets of videos so we can all watch them comfortably, instead of trying to keep up with subtitles. I don’t know any other creators that do that. I know a lot add English subtitles (& weirdly there are a few German creators whose work I love - more than from any other non English-speaking country) but then we can’t watch their videos while crafting. So the effort you put in is just amazing! Not just making two projects but voicing, editing the works. Amazing! Wunderbar sogar! 😁
I would love to have a coffee with you ! I would be honored to be your friend. I love the way you speak English. You are constantly improving. And yes, the nose of a bird is a beak. 😂
This video reminds me that i totally understand why but wonder if you realize how highly you are thought of in your peer community. Taking what i consider 'plain' pouches and raising them to the highest art form proves you worthy of your reputation. You would be a success if you didn't open your mouth! But we thank God you do. Sending❤ from mere mortals.
I'm working on my first junk journal and have been struggling trying to figure out the binding. I have watched a shit ton of videos and still not getting it. Here I am trying again and start watching your video and it finally all made sense, i just punched the holes in and everything lined up just right. Finally I can sew my signature in. Thank you so much. Love you and your videos so much.
I feel that I watch your channel to learn new ideas. Uou are always doing wonderful things on your channel. So I, for one, will be continuing to watch your channel. And yes, empathize and empathy are both correct. I feel like as a viewer and creator, it is important to be kind to each other. So we definitely want you to be appreciated! I'm very glad I found your channel.
Louise, English is a very weird language. I am dyslexic, I know if a word is spelt wrongly but often really struggle to find the right spelling. So many words do not sound like they are spelt. Your English is very good, you always make it understandable and that is the main thing. Well done ! Your videos are amazing, thank you. X
Dear Luise Happy New Year to you and your beloved ones and everyone else, I hope that all of the people in the whole world will have a wonderful and blessed year and the most important wish: I wish all the peaceful year, no more stress and war, nowhere. Just love and peace and understanding which I believe is the only way we can live together in this planet with happiness. Love you and as always thank you for sharing your amazing tutorials last year, I appreciate your efforts ❤
No idea pouch journal is such a good idea! Especially for traveling. For home I personally have a small basket with an-easy-to-open-and-close (hinged) lid. I drop my ‘no ideas’ there. To write down unexpectedly appearing thoughts about next project I use Evernote app on my phone as it is (with its built-in wallet) always with me. Still I see a lot of applications for a pouch journal and would hand-stitch the pouch and built the zipper into it gladly (sewing machine is not an option for me). Thanks for this idea!
Where to start.. - Very creative idea and good up cycling! I started looking around for something I could use! - Never be embarrassed by your English, we can easily get what you mean. -I love the grid paper idea. I have lots of trouble with more than one signature. -I’ve never thought to use one thread to sew in the signatures! Cleaver!
Oh my gosh. I was gifted several of these bags by my daughter after she finished last years Christmas gifts. I wasn't sure what to do with them, and now I have an idea. I love the whole premise of this journal in keeping things for later. Thank you
I Love listening to you. I know you struggle with your English but we can understand what you are talking about! I love the idea using the pouches. I do have these pouches so I am going to give this a try❤❤❤
my English is really bad, so I used a translator) I apologize in advance if he translates as badly as I do😁 I just want to tell you, Luise, that you are incredible! You are my muse☺️ thank you for your work, for sharing your knowledge! I wish you all the best and hug you tightly🤗
Love, love, love this idea! So inspirational for me. Ideas are gathering in my head. I have never thought about using the instrument pads in art either. I am excited to see how you use them. In our house we have quite the collection of them in many sizes and varying materials.
I freaking LOVE the pouches as a cover! I have my nanny’s old buttons (I love buttons) and birds are one of my favorite things. I need to make this….I’m going to make this. I love everything about this project. I already use a common place notebook to write down ideas, but perhaps it needs a new cover. Thank you for all you do to share your ideas with us. Happy creative new year!
I always look forward to your videos. You have wonderful ideas and I love your personality! Your English is great! I feel stupid that I only know one language. 😂
@louise -- Last year my daughter moved near the Black Forest in Germany. You were talking about learning English and it reminded me of how she is immersing herself into the German language and has come across such nice people who are very encouraging just as you mentioned for your experience. I love your art. Beautiful and I like how you come up with solutions as you go.
We love you Luise!! I'm still working on the Envelope Notebooks that I started last year! I'm finally binding the ones I made, then want to make more. (I want everyone in the household to have one!) I was going to make them for this past Christmas, but ran out of time. Now I have a year to finish them! (Yeah!!) You keep making videos & we'll keep watching them!!
Wow you are such a wonderful teacher in making a junk journal and all the important things to remember especially for those of us who are inexperienced in this process. Someday I hope to make one and I will be rewatching this for your helpful tips and instructions. Thank you so much!
One more idea I would put Scotch Guard on the fabric after spraying or dying it to make it waterproof then if it gets something on it you can simply wipe it away. This is just a thought.
Luise, thank you for the gift of your videos! You have a friend in Baltimore, MD, and I'm sure many other places as well. And I agree with all who say that your English is absolutely better than most Americans! :)
Your English is better than some native English speakers. Truly. I love your accent. And, yes, empathetic is the word you wanted. You got this!
I totally agree
You apparently don't understand how amazing you really are as a person and an artist!!! I am so glad I found you way back when!!!

Ok my favorite line from this video is “ don’t ask why I have so many letters leftover, I am Luise Heinzl, this can happen on my desk.”
That should be in a frame sitting on your desk.
Your card with the letters looks like how my mind feels when I have no ideas! It’s perfect!
this is so fun to watch you and you have no idea how very well you speak English!!! you really do!!! So be at peace. Love this journal, very cleaver
I love this idea for a no idea book! I will make one for myself. Thank you!
Your English is amazing! I did not know at first that there was an English version, so I was doing my best with German. You never fail to cheer me up. I am grateful to have found you.
Great idea! Beautiful cover! Pouches unique!! Love it❣️
Perfect for half an idea 💡and just the way my creative brain thinks too, I love it!
Your attention to important details are VERY gratefully appreciated!❤️👏🏻😊
This pouch journal is so creative and cool!! Thank you😊
Thank you so much ❤️
What a great journal!
I love the ideal of using the zipper pouches. I’d put pen and pencil washi tape maybe a small ruler.
Thank you, Louise, I love this idea! perfect for a travel journal, to store supplies in one pouch and collage materials in the other! Happy 2024💫
Love you!💕🇨🇦
Your English is so very good for it being your second language.
It is a crazy hard language.
Great video to start the year! I have a thing for collecting pouches and filling them with bits and pieces/this and that. I love this idea for ideas. Thanks so much for sharing your process. Saving this to go back to again and again! Happy New Year🎉 ❤
I love this idea, often we come up with an idea but not one space to keep it. and I love the pouch/pockets to go with it.
I think the under side of that orange and brown circle looks more interesting
I’m WOW’d again by your genius! I so wish I had your creativity finesse. Can’t wait for the next adventure you take us on in our world of junk journaling.
Great idea. I often find things in my stash I want to use while I am working on something else. This journal would be a great place to put them until I finish what I am working on.
Love your work and love your accent you are fun to learn with and make it enjoyable I hope you all the best for 2025 inspiring
Creativity requires FEEDOM. I always wonder why they didn't kill Hieronymus Bosch. Strange world we are livin' in. Because you always have fantastic ideas, I wish you health to be able to live it! Hugs from Berlin!
Luise, thank you for sharing so much with us! i discovered my calling as a mixed-media artist. I am forever grateful.
This idea of your's is not only genius but a motivation!! Im definitely making one of these. What a great way to kick off the New Year!! Tyfs ❤❤
I would love to have a coffee with you ! I would be honored to be your friend. I love the way you speak English. You are constantly improving. And yes, the nose of a bird is a beak. 😂
Wonderful use of the pouches. You are amazing. The way your brain works is wow. I can’t find the words to describe it.
What a fantastic journal construction! Thank you for sharing a great process video...very well explained in English as always! 🥰🇨🇦
I love the idea of making a nothing journal as I have no ideas
Oh my goodness gollee, can I just have 2% of that creative brain of yours. Awesome and I’m definitely going to try my hand at it. Happy 2024
Luise, it is such a treat to watch your videos and store up your ideas. I wish my German was 1/2 as good as your English!
Best New Year wish for everyone ever!!
That's a very good idea, nice, I shall try it and show you when I'm done
Dear Luise Happy New Year to you and your beloved ones and everyone else, I hope that all of the people in the whole world will have a wonderful and blessed year and the most important wish: I wish all the peaceful year, no more stress and war, nowhere. Just love and peace and understanding which I believe is the only way we can live together in this planet with happiness. Love you and as always thank you for sharing your amazing tutorials last year, I appreciate your efforts ❤
Hola, te saludo desde Chile... Me encantó el diario No Idea... Excelente idea y bello trabajo .. gracias por compartir y bendiciones ❤❤❤❤❤
This journal is amazing! Can’t wait to create my own
Where to start..
Cleaver!
I love your English 😊
Yes, English is a weird language.
You are an amazing artist, I enjoy your channel so much
Oh my gosh. I was gifted several of these bags by my daughter after she finished last years Christmas gifts. I wasn't sure what to do with them, and now I have an idea. I love the whole premise of this journal in keeping things for later. Thank you
Your book idea in lieu of a book cradle is brilliant! It would work like a charm..
An amazing project Luise ❤ thank you for explaining everything so thouroughly
Ooooo you could use Tims new pouches and try new techniques in the journal with notes. ❤️❤️
Luise, thank you for the gift of your videos! You have a friend in Baltimore, MD, and I'm sure many other places as well. And I agree with all who say that your English is absolutely better than most Americans! :)
Creative…coming up with this idea of No Idea journal…luv the idea of the pouches for covers. ❤
Fabulous! You are so right! The English language is weird but you are doing great! Thank you for sharing your creativity.
