This is such a good idea! Thanks for sharing the whole thing. I've been working on putting together some simple Christmas craft kits aimed at younger children and I'm looking forward to seeing if they're popular or not at my upcoming markets.

Thanks so much! From what I've seen around here, craft kits are a really popular item - I know at least 2 businesses locally who specialize in them for kids and this time of year they do so well! I hope you have amazing results with yours too 😊

Wow Rebecca you have such great ideas!! That is such a clever painting kit. I am looking for ideas because right now I make painting videos and kits and spend so much time on them I was wondering how I could shorten how much time I am spending making them. People have enjoyed my painting supply kits but I was sending customers half pans and it was a waste of that much paint! The dots are much better for doing a painting or a few. Thanks for sharing, your drawings are so cute, what a fun kit! I would love this and my kids would def want this too if they saw it :)

Thanks so much! I'm really interested to hear how that worked out for you because doing half pans or something similar was also my first idea - then I saw a paint company (can't recall who) that included samples of other colours in their orders using this dot method. They demonstrated how big a surface area one dot could paint. So it made sense for kits! So glad this was helpful 🥰

Rebecca, thanks for this cool idea! I wanted to make some as holiday gifts.
What weight watercolor paper are you using?
I tried using 140 lb 300 gsm watercolor paper (Canson XL And Fabriano) in my Ecotank ET-2850 but it's too thick 😅
    Thanks again!

So glad you liked the video! I had to use a slightly lighter watercolour paper for these exact reasons, so I'm using a 90lb/190 gsm watercolour paper. I should have mentioned that in the video, so thanks for asking! I find this weight a good middle ground where it still feels professional enough. And I did include some tips on how to flatten a watercolour painting if it buckles in the instruction booklet, just in case! ☺️

What kind of printer do you have? Mine won’t accept watercolor paper because it’s too thick. I’ve tried so manny times and it just won’t take anything thicker than a medium cardstock sheet. I was bummed too to find that out the hard way especially when I just upgraded my printer to a more expensive one that was a refillable ink tank one. I the then tried to take it to Procreate and then into Design Space to have my Cricut draw it out for me directly onto the watercolor paper in pencil, but then I ran into problems with converting the files over from procreate into Design Space and would mess up my designs one way or another. It’s been frustrating to say the least and IDK what I’m doing wrong there.
Also, what kind of paper do you use? You mentioned your costs are about $5/kit but I’m wondering what paper you use to be able to use more than one piece of paper per kit since I know watercolor paper can be expensive especially if you use 100% cotton paper.
