I wouldn't, not going with modern standards. Camera is awful at times, horse control is clumsy and dated. I feel it's artistic vision is so strong people are blinded to it's direct gameplay failings. A perfect score in 2006 though, I can agree with.

I agree. I've never had an issue with Agro or the camera. If either had been changed for the remake, it wouldn't have been the same game. The camera is a character. As for the remake itself, so much time & care went into making the game look the best it possibly could in 2018, it's really hard to complain. PlayStation has been doing well with the remakes. First ratchet and Clank then Crash Bandicoot and now this. Next up is Final fantasy VII hopefully that won't disappoint.

As the reviewer said, the PS2 handled it but it DID suffer in the framerate department at times. Hopefully you still go through the same awe most of us did when you play it for the first time.

Very true. "Shadow Of The Colossus" has a certain magic that no other open-world game has managed to capture. However, "Praey For The Gods" is a nice spiritual successor & the closest thing we've gotten so far to a game that's similar to that of Fumito Ueda's masterpiece. Made by 3 dev's over a 6 year period & fully crowd funded, "Praey For The Gods" needs more love & a physical release. It's certainly a game that fans of S.O.T.C. should enjoy.

Edmond - Excellent video. I had not considered the fact that some of the colossi do not even attack Wander. It is an excellent observation that helps explain why the game is so effective, i.e., boss battles are usually a means to an end (e.g., to save Princess Peach), but in SOTC the narrative causes them to become the end in themselves.
Watching this review took me back when I was younger playing his epic for the first time. It was just amazing. Can’t wait to play it! Simply breathtaking!
Thank goodness they Kept Kow Otani's Original Soundtrack! Personally, unless they added the "missing" colossi from the Art Book as unlock-able content, I'll be keeping my old PS2 game. Call me old school but I liked the PS2 struggling to keep up with the sheer scale of the game. Also, I HATED the slow-down effect they added in the HD re-release when you killed a Colossus.
I really feel bad about the way I played this game, since I did end up using a walkthrough a few times for figuring out how to beat some of the more complex colossi, primarily the third one. I really feel like I didn’t play the game properly and feel bad cause I feel like I didn’t get the true experience it was going for. Still, an amazing game nonetheless

Beautiful game! Both visually and emotionally. Felt Really bad for the colossus because they were just minding their own business and I went to kill them. Plus, I’m used to killing humans in games and we humans are a selfish species that brings harm to everything we touch.

The only game that an empty world actually makes sense and made it more eerie.

Beautiful remake, but clunky unresponsive controls make replay a real issue for me personally.
