I love specific car dealerships. To me that shows someone's passion and knowledge of a automobile. They are just trying to share the love and keep great cars on the road!
Hey all, just noticed I said 70 series fronts - to clarify, I meant 60 series! Hope you enjoy another shop tour, so many of these niche workshops dotted around Tokyo, let me know if you have any suggestions on ones you'd like me to visit!
Dino, Utilitas in 東京都小金井市貫井南町 may be interesting. They sell Land Cruiser but also Nissan DR30. Just found your channel today. Bought the Speedhunters book years ago and still enjoy that.
I love resto mods and appreciate that you cover this type of vehicle and not just street, tuner or high end cars. Big fan of the Hiace. Keep living the dream Dino. Cheers
OMG YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH THIS MEANS LOL. I've been following all the flex Japanese pages because of my love for this retro landcruiser. I couldn't find any English videos on it and I'm so glad I've finally found you
Super interesting, thanks! I'm loving your new content and you are killing it with the subject matter, b-roll, music and explanations. It's a pleasure to watch something without a lot of the usual vlogger ott enthusiasm and hype but just interesting material.
It boggles my mind how the land cruiser is a very large vehicle and it's being driven around small japanese streets. Again that you very much for the video Dino!!!
They are actually not that large compared to new cars, an 80 series is only about 3" wider and 3" shorter than a new Camry, and narrower compared to some other sedans. Still not small, but they are smaller than they look.
My ND MX5/Miata was wider than my 60 series, though no where near as long obviously. The 60s and 80s were big for their time, but I guess car manufacturers have to account for increasing waist sizes of today. New civics and corollas are almost large sedan size of the 90s.
Because Tokyo's LC's do a lot more full-lock turning than their Aussie brethren, their steering joints tend to wear out comparatively quickly. Ask me how I know. 😃
Incredible. Thank you so much for sharing. Love the orange FJ70 with the white raised roof. I am a LC200 owner and would love it if they made FJ70 like-grills for the LC200s.
It’s about time you had your own channel. I’ve been a fan ever since SpeedHunters (You were the 1st one to put RWB on the map internationally about 10 years ago?! Way before Nakai had his World Tour on building RWB’s) and still you are in the “Land of Tomorrow”. This channel should blow-up soon enough, again at under 9K subs, I’m a lil late to this channel as well…..but if anyone knows about “never too late” for anything, it’s me. I have no channel or anything; just a guy who has always been into “speed” and dances a little….A Salute to you sir!!! Underrated channel but Legendary content via SpeedHunters. Going through all your videos now. Thank you Dino.
I was so happy to see this video, I love LCs... i love my 100 series but those 80 and 60 series are so tasteful. Love the upholstery! Great video... i hit subscribe right away!
I bought a fj62v(red one) at 3:51 from this shop 10 years ago when I was 20 years old. Actually this Flex group is known as notorious LC shop in japanese LC community. My FJ was found totally bad condition after purchase…and i didn’t have any knowledge… My friend got 60 series from here and delivered with one wrong size wheel lol But unfortunately this shop has most of old LC series in Japan and they increase the price so customers are hard to find nice LCs from another shop. but its all good memories tho…lol still love the old fj series so much! great video! thank you!!!!
These specialist garages are awesome... looks like they create some unique quality vehicles. I have subscribed in the hope you'll share more garages like these!
Bonjour. Je suis tombé en pamoison devant cette superbe collection de Toyota. J'ai eu naguère un HJ 61 comme ceux que l'on peut apercevoir . Est ce que l'on en trouve encore des neufs ? Merci .
Can't say I like the 60 face on 80 thing Was in Japan when these were new. Doing a 60 body on a 80 chasis/ 1hdft drive train atm Japan is a super cool place
Hey Dino love the video content. Only just stumbling on your UA-cam but I’ve been following your written content since the early 2000s reading HPI in Australia as a kid
Oh man that's awesome! I loved all those years spent covering cars in Japan for HPI, it was a good mag with cool people. Happy you found me on here and thanks for the follow!
@@dino_dc the V8 is not as good as you think it stupid fuel hungry around 15l/100km with a good tune 13.5 - 14 if you drop 1/3 of the power you can get 12. the 1HD-FTE is far superior.
Hey Dino, as an 80-series diehard, Flexdream is one of my favourite detours. Interesting fact, Flexdream and Flex are different companies, doing the same Land Cruiser conversions-no love lost apparently. Flex is by far the bigger network, and fabricates the conversions out of sheet steel-try lifting the hood/bonnet and you’ll know what I mean😂. Good luck with your channel mate.
Here I am before this channel's skyrocketing. It would be nice to see a video about Japan's mafia style car scene like the classic murdered lang mercedeses and lexuses. They just look so cool on the clean streets of Japan.
The faceswap vans look like the new front is about 30 cm too high (probably headlight compliance) If the headlights and bumper were lower they would look amazing imo Landcruiser hold their value very high in Australia
Back in the day trading in the 60 series for an 80 series was like going from a truck to a sports car. I’m on my second 80 series and this one has only done 112,000km in 25 years.
This makes me jealous. I did went to Kyoto Offroad Center, a small shop but fun. There I saw a super rare 70's serie that had the exterior of a 40. Only 70 of them had been made. I would like the 80 with a 60 front end. But I think that Hilux Surf was also modified?
Dino you should start collecting these 60s and 80s like the Gtrs you've got. They are gaining popularity now in the US for being minimalistic and easy to drive. I've seen people paying close to a hundred grand for these beauties. Nice video though
Sine 2015,if you want to drive old diesel cars in these big cities ,you would spend lot of money due to emission regulations. Thats why is harder to see some off-roads in Tokyo.
Love the chill vibe content! Do you even shoot the b-roll on the iphone? I'd totally go for the 2 tone landcruiser in the front lineup, dig that style a lot ✌️
i love ❤️ 💕Japanese Toyota Land Cruiser since i was a child & had driven my father's Toyota Land Cruiser 82 Model which company had given to my father #
I love specific car dealerships. To me that shows someone's passion and knowledge of a automobile. They are just trying to share the love and keep great cars on the road!
Yep and as new cars become less inspiring or EV, anything restomodded will continue to get more popular
Not all some do it beacuse easier for parts to sell
Hey all, just noticed I said 70 series fronts - to clarify, I meant 60 series! Hope you enjoy another shop tour, so many of these niche workshops dotted around Tokyo, let me know if you have any suggestions on ones you'd like me to visit!
Love the stories. 👍💪✌️
Dino, Utilitas in 東京都小金井市貫井南町 may be interesting. They sell Land Cruiser but also Nissan DR30. Just found your channel today. Bought the Speedhunters book years ago and still enjoy that.
@@gkanai1400 Oh I know the guys from there, their R30s are killer. Added to the list for sure!
This is heaven heheh

Thank you! Will try 🙏🏻
I'll take an 80-series with the 60-series front end conversion, and I'll also take more of these uploads, thanks Dino!
Working on it!! Thanks for the feedback!!
OMG YOU DONT UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH THIS MEANS LOL. I've been following all the flex Japanese pages because of my love for this retro landcruiser. I couldn't find any English videos on it and I'm so glad I've finally found you

Thanks Mark, love the feedback and it's something a lot are saying. Just can't do the fake OTT so I just do it in the best way I know how...
your channel is going to grow FAST if you keep this up!!! I would love to see all the cool car shops in tokyo!
Oh man thanks for the comment, it's feedback like this that fuels me to keep pushing! Much love!
I recently purchased a LC Prado 78 from FLEX. I wasn't planning on buying a LC but I love how they customized it and ended up buying it.
Oh nice!
Fantastic video Dino! It is very interesting to learn different parts of the car culture in Japan!
Thank you, so happy you like it! More to come so keep coming back!
My dad land cruiser 😢
Really good memories.
Thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it
Just discovered your channel. This was an awesome video showing the things they do in Japan. Fantastic
It boggles my mind how the land cruiser is a very large vehicle and it's being driven around small japanese streets. Again that you very much for the video Dino!!!
Yeah they do well here, always have, even the go completely against the Eco movement all manufacturers are trying to jump on!

That's what I like it!! I don't know why but the hiace always felt cool to me.
I really like the Hi-Ace myself, they are just too bouncy with those solid axles & leaf springs
Oh yeah! Hiace and Toyota land cruiser are so popular in El Salvador!
Thank you for sharing! including the Hilux pick up
Wow El Salvador! Thanks for watching 🤙🏻

Hi do you know if there is a similar for example for Nissan Patrol please, if so would you be able to do a video please.
Not on this scale
the Landcruiser of that era arrived to the middle east area loaded with top options .. even better than these ones in Japan
Yeah and you guys got the bigger 4.6L V8 on the later series while Japan got stuck with the 4.3L! Damn Toyota lol
