I have a Schwin stationary bike and it might have similar system, because it's quiet and get VERY hard. But my new, ok 2012 Sole Elliptical is like above. I have to open it to see what is going on. I bought it used, but the resistance is so little, maybe it's normal or not. I can't tell. Thanks for showing the whole system, it's a great concept of engineering. It's easier to troubleshoot when you know what it's supposed to do.
@@signedelacroix7213 There are a lot of models on sole that have the same light resistance issue if it changes some from 1 to 20 maybe that’s what it is. You can try and adjust the steel cable that goes from the gear motor to the flywheel . Sometimes you can adjust the small holding nuts on the cable itself. It can help some
I just purchased a used E25. Its probably ~10 year old unit if not a little more. Pre bluetooth. Got it home turns on fine console operates, no errors etc. However, trying to increase the resistance I feel no change, hear no sounds. How should i approach troubleshooting this? What might be the most likely culprit? Thanks
@@squad3417 Well is it very little difference? Or none at all. And listen closely for a slight sound of gear motor trying to move If no change at all and no sound at all . I would start with the gear motor we have them on our website Fitnesspartspro. Com
Thanks for the excellent videos. I have a 2016 Sole e25. The resistance cable broke. I have a new one. It seems I have to pull back the flywheel assembly as you did in your flywheel replacement video. Is this correct? (or am I missing a simpler way?) I assume that I install the cable with the level at 20 (max) and fine tune from there. Any links or videos you might know of would be welcome. Thanks again.
I think I answered this question? But you are perfectly right you have to pull the flywheel lever back . And start in max resistance, to give you as much cable as possible
The cable that attaches the flywheel to the gear motor broke nearest the gear motor for me. What is the part number for it if I’m lucky enough to find it online? Wasn’t sure what the nomenclature is for when looking through the manuals or googling…
Well we have them on our website Fitnesspartspro.com under sole steel cable if you can’t find model just leave your serial number at check out we will look it up thanks Dave
The thumbnails are helpful. They seem to tell me what I need,.. I think. Unfortunately I seem to have a weird model (e35,.. but i think it is 2012) I don't see my resistance motor cable setup in any videos., I am going to try locking my metal cable 'sleeve' to the motor 'bracket' .. so the cable will go 'through' it,.. instead of just pushing it away? :) THANK YOU :)

Question... resistance is no longer responsive on my E35. Motor works fine and I can see the magnet lower on max resistance. Is it possible magnets have lost their magnetism?
Well that is odd I have only seen magnetism loss on treadmill motors !due to how hot they run .I would think even though you can see lever move there are two sets of magnets inside flywheel maybe one side is stuck and not moving
Hello, very informative! My question is similar to that of Omar Rashid below. I do not have a Sole but purchased the Sportstech LCX800 and am very disappointed with the resistance. Level 1 is pretty much the same as level 32 (maximum resistance level). I'm not in super shape, but would expect level 32 being much more difficult than level 1. Any pointers?
Hmm I am not sure what type of brake is used. I could help if you send me a pic of system. In general it would depend on how many magnets they use .And how much they move from flywheel
I just got an e35 and the max resistance stinks! Max incline and level at 20 gives me 140 bpm. I'm in decent shape, but average 160bpm when running outside at 10 min miles (pretty slow)... my point is that I don't think the magnets are going all the way out, or they aren't strong enough. Is the 25lb fly wheel just too week? Can this model accept a heavier fly wheel like the one from the e95? Compare my crappy schwin bike... I'm max heart rate at 75% (175-180bpm). On the E35, In eng mode, the level 20 reading is 916. Can I bump it up? Levels 1-10 all change the cable motor in 30-40 unit increments but no real feel in resistance until about level 10. Could one of my magnets be stuck? Would I feel a wobble? It is definitely very smooth right now. Bottom line, this thing should be wearing me out for 1500 bucks! Did I pick the wrong one? Is it just designed weak?
Hmmm That is a good question when your new elliptical does not give you enough resistance it is the fault of the amount of magnets in your flywheel. To change this you would need to change unit you would have to ask sole which models carry more magnetic load 🤔
Hi I was having trouble with my brake system on my Q37e. It was originally stuck on high resistance (level 20). We have fixed it where it is working but the easy resistance is now reversed meaning level 1 is now level 20 high resistance and level 20 is now level 1 easy resistance. How do I reset my machine to correct this problem?
ap1nnell well what do you do to fix it ? This is normally due to gear motor working backwards to fix this you would have to run gear motor cable over white pulley on gear motor were as it normally runs down or under . You can see clearly how motor works on video marked how to calibrate sole elliptical !Hope this helps Dave
OR perhaps you spooled the 'cable-wire' onto the motor's End Cap, going Over the Wheelcap instead of Under... It should (looking sidelong at the motor with the cable to the right) go left, under the spool then up and around then in it's little homeslot... (unless mine is put together wrong that way too! ;)
Very much impressed with your knowledge and willingness to share with us. Thanks so much.
Thanks for making the video, it helped me confidently fix my E95.
Thank you
