Great video Series. Thanks for doing these. I recently got a second hand machine and the resistance is not working. I have used your videos to open the machine expecting to see the cable snapped, but it is intact and working . I can see it moving the clip in the wheel. That should rule out the gear motor and cable.... where to next? Thank you!
Thank you. Sounds like it’s kinda working. So if the motor is pulling flywheel lever back and releasing it Two possibilities if is always heavy then the cable inside holding the magnet has broken. If it does move and is always light feeling this maybe the way it is made! Some units have less magnets in side. See video on understanding sole break system
@@FitnessTechnologyServices Thanks for the quick reply! So the system is always light. This is the E-35 unit. Sorry, I forgot to mention that earlier. I tried putting my screwdriver up against the fly wheel and get NO magnetism. Everything else seems perfect on the machine. Is this even possible? Could the magnets have broken and fallen out or something similar? What would be my next step? And thanks again for all you do here!
@@PhillipM.-cn5zw well you won’t feel any magnetism on the outside of the flywheel unfortunately you will need to look inside and see if you have magnet load on the magnet it’s self. But if you can feel any difference between I and 20 it might be the model. You could also check your steel cable see if there are any adjustment nuts on the cable
@@FitnessTechnologyServices OK. Thank you again. I will have to find time to take it apart again. There is no difference between 1 and 20. The start of the serial number is 5350141408, if that helps. The cable just fit into a slot in a small metal plate (wish I had taken a picture of it). There is an opening where you could see the plate move. the plate started about 1/2 in the middle of the opening at 20 and pulled back past the opening at setting 1. Not sure if that tells you anything? Again, I really appreciate your help and all your videos!
I have an e 35 bought in 2016 this morning I heard a nouse like something fell in the machine. Now I can use it but no control on resistance. Is that the cable or the belt? Thank you in advance
Well normally if the steel cable breaks it is always hard. If the belt falls off it won’t pedal anymore. Or at least it will feel very awkward
My e35 is a 2016 I recieved the cable i oreded from you. But I am stuck at how to removing the disc. It's different than the one in your video. Any suggestions? Thank you.
I Michael I am not sure if I answer this on email so just in case my video on changing sole elliptical drive belt covers it. Or replacing the incline controller

I texted earlier that I heard a thump. Wheel turned hard. Bt turned you suggested check cable and belt. They both appear to be ok. Does that mean it's the resistance motor? I cant get my level to change when pressing the level up button. There is no sound like it's making an effort. Thank you
Well most likely then does the motor make any attempt to move
@FitnessTechnologyServices no. I hear a slight sound when i press the resistance level up. Elevation works on other side wheel does move

Hello. My resistance cable broke at the flywheel end. It is the type where the flywheel mechanism is towards the front of the machine, so I believe I have the cable without the metal bend in the sheath. My Sole E35 serial number is 535016. Do I simply need the Sole Spirit Xterra Fuel Steel Cable for Gear Motors - E35 from your website?
Since it broke, I did not get a chance to see how the adjustment nut and sheath mounted to the flywheel. Do you have an image of that arrangement?
