Cutting firewood, hauling, stacking, unloading, splitting, stacking, and restacking when it falls down keep you thin and muscled.
That was me as a teenager in the 1990s. But I'm paying for it now, with a messed up back, shoulders, and knees.

recently discovered your channel. you are living proof of "if you have the will you find a way". one of the comments you made was to "get to work". i do not see this as work, sure you are busy and clearly love what you do so therefore it is not work in my opinion. i am also in the northwest but on the canadian side and everytime i take on a project at our off grid property i can not wait to get back to it. i am dang near 70 yrs old and granted not as tuff in actual physical output these days but i still hold a lot of worth in ideas and great intentions. i also love seeing Al, he is a one in a million and gives me hope.

Diego is proof that if you are not lazy you can build anything for free with a truck and/or trailer goiyyo the forest and saving tree's from life of rot and build it yourself. Great Job, Sir!! When is the lovely lady coming for a visit?
I really enjoyed seeing this woodshed build. The cutting,measuring,notching,& fitting/nailing every board/log into its rightful place (tightly). Love the shedominium, that thing is a beast.
You should really look at getting a saw mill.
It would save a ton of money on dimensional lumber, plus you could make cedar shingles with it as well.

Great job on you woodshed I’ve been watching all of it. I’ve never given my opinion on any of your work. But may I suggest that the ridge cap would look good flat and not stacked and then put one of this drip edges over the top. Bent to shape of course
Brother, if there was a medal for full-blown beast mode, you would get the Gold medal! I have to admit, I was scratching my head asking, WHY, but I truly get it! This makes the 12 X 12 firewood shed I am currenyl building look bad, thanks for making the rest of us out here look like slackers 🤔

Get yourself some Estwing tools, especially a 'Fireside Friend Splitting Tool', (their SKU: E3-FF4). You'll like them for all of your future needs.
ALL that work for a WOOD SHED? With that type of construction one would think you’re building a Log cabin. Nice job
Ridge cap could be done differently and might look a little better and function a little better. Space two ridge tiles you made on the ridge, spaced a half inch less than the length of one apart. Then place one in the gap. This will allow a quarter inch over lap on on each end of the first two you put down. Then follow the pattern along this way. You can glue and fix as you think best. So every second one will be a little higher or lower the one before. But will be water tight and level for water shed.
I’m a big fan of all your videos but I truly enjoyed this series. The result is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship. One question: Is there a reason didn’t use any type of waterproof membrane under the shakes? Any roof I worked on be it shakes, tile, or asphalt shingles utilized a membrane of some sort. The shakes, tile, and shingles were primarily used as protection for the membrane.
The woodshed is amazing, I agree with you on the future possibilities, but continue stacking and storing for two to three years of firewood, even if you made 10’ by 4’ box or whatever fits with metal roof for the rest of the firewood. Job well done, and she’s a pretty thing to look at too! Congratulations, now rest!!!❤
