when looking at the correlation matrix for the 3 items, what was it about i1 and i3 which indicate they need to be recoded?

However, Should we proceed with Correlation & Multiple regression analysis with the reverse coded data? or it's only for reliability analysis?

Essentially every analysis (correlation; multiple regression; t-test; etc.) should be conducted on the reverse coded data, not just a reliability analysis.

Thanks. Michael Furr has a good book that introduces psychometrics. I don't think it demonstrates SPSS, though.
