I would totally run mtg assistant to support the channel, but then I'd see how terrible I am at this game with more detail O.o Edit: I downloaded it and saw I have all the cards for mono red. Now look what you've done CGB xD
You can dance if you want to... Lol you were crushing it with all of the 80s and 90s song references! Now I have to listen to some 80s/90s classics haha
You can dance every dance with a guy, who gives you the eye let him hold you tight... Man I love playing doomdecks. Not because they are so good, but they can be so satisfying. Keep your good work CGB!
just started watching my favorite spice-boi after a break from Arena. i come back to find the same humor, same ballin hair, but a new sweet set and a chair fit for a god. My man is going stronger than ever!
I heard about mtg assistant here, and I love the help it provides me. My main uses for it is the deck tracking, so I know what is left in my deck. The other thing I love is the help for drafting.
I just love the dance of the manse decklist and it feels really good that you can counter almost the entire meta if you build with the right cards around it :D
I just built a deck quite like this, even though I chose yorion as my companion. Added a bunch of 3/4archons that spawn little pegasuses as well and they do some serious work in the deck
If anyone is interested, I had I tough time finding a deck that worked since the bans, and I tried THIS deck, replaced the conundrums (no more ramp) and it has been killing it. FYI!
I like the part where you’re singing the dance song as your opponent’s head explodes. Like some kind of serial killer with everything going as planned.
To be fair, the deck is pretty hard to pilot. I agree that it’s broken, I’ve cast 4 Ultimatum in 1 turn, but it’s definitely not brain dead, especially in the earlier turns
@@brianv3ntura it's brain dead in the sense that the floor of the deck is pretty low, so one could take a lot of it doing poorly, but it's ceiling is definitely one of the highest possible
brianv3ntura, like the other guy said. It’s brain dead because a person who doesn’t understand the cards at all can play the deck and stomp someone with a non-ramp deck. Is there a skill curve? Yes. But that doesn’t make it a 10,000 IQ deck. You literally just get enough mana to play a Genesis, and win by filling the board with free creatures using free mana from omnath. It’s definitely not a hard combo to pull off.
@@ryanbolson23 I mean at that point the only decks that aren't brain dead are way intricate combo decks. Like nearly all decks in mtg are pretty simple to play at a basic level. At least omnath has some depth if you wanna go that far with it. No I don't play omnath, just a bit tired of seeing people call whatever makes it to the top brain dead no matter what
I’ve been away from magic ever since New Phyrexia. Due to a friend, I’ve been playing arena. It’s been difficult keeping up/getting competitive since honestly I’m unfamiliar with the newer cards. With that said, I’ve been enjoying/watching your content. Keep up the great work!
Funny... last week for FNM I was playing Azorious yorion (which has a bunch of enchaments to blink) and I had two dance of the manse in my side board specifically for mill opponents.
I got the habit of checking CGB's profile on aetherhub every day to see what's coming up. I love this deck, have played some 20 games and about 95% of the time the opponent scoops when Dance resolves. Oh and I wish I could see their faces after they try to Fable Passage and end up with one less land.
You're having better luck than I sir, and I'm middling in Gold tier. I have a horrible W/L rate with this deck. I made some modifications based on the end of his video where I added another heartless act or 2 and put in another sweeper because I would be okay until the mid game and then just flounder out while my opponent did much more powerful things and I'm still struggling to win much. In my experience The Meta is just too quick to keep up with Adventures and counterspell decks can sit back and wait to counter Dance of the manse or Doom whild you kind of just stall out. I'm still learning how to play the deck and I've definitely made some mistakes but any advice you can provide would be great.
BRUH THIS IS SO SIMILAR TO MY DECK!!! The only difference I have is I run 2 Necromentia and 2 Ashiok's Erasure + 2 Archon of Suns Grace instead of the 2 Golden Eggs, 1 Confounding Conundrum, and 3 removal spells! This looks like an upgrade though!!! Edit: I love you CGB! ROCK ON!!!
Would you ever be willing to do a video on your thought process behind which/ how many lands you choose to use when building a deck? I'd love to understand the science behind it better so that I can craft my own home brews. I'm decent at building decks, but usually only go with one or two colors because three or more gets confusing for me.
It depends on whether you are building in paper or MTGA and what kind of deck you are trying to build. For most decks in MTGA, you want more than 24 (40%) lands unless you are building aggro. Decks that require more than 4 lands to function need to be running between 25-28 lands depending on the average cost of the deck.
"I've put out Dance videos before". Don't play with our hearts CGB, show us, show us the spirit of the dance! *Smash cut to Napolean Dynamite dance scene*
I've been playing this in Bo3 for around the past week + a few: I'd recommend swapping out Golden Egg for Mazemind Tomb personally. The mana fixing once in awhile is nice from Golden Egg (1 mana sac) but the 4 scrys just help a TON to find answers and/or specific lands. Outside of that, small differences, this deck has been doing well for me as well =)
With Golden Egg in the build you could potentially play Jegantha. Would also be confusing for the opponent to see it as your companion. And who knows, it might just save you once in a blue moon...
Looks almost identical to my main deck. I just run that artifact that lets you draw for two, then you can sacrifice it and pay 2 more to draw again (helps with 2 tap land opening hands that don't have Yorion). Also run instant speed removal for omnath/cobra. Shatter at 4 is a requirement against rogues and red. Also baby shark is nasty with dance.
@@EricM93 I won't be home till tomorrow night but I'll log on and drop it here. I've been tweeking it every set for the last few sets so it's pretty tuned.
Edward Freda thanks so much. I guess he doesn’t play shatter because of double white? Possibly he thinks doom foretold + heartless, elspeth nightmare, and drown is good enough? I’ve been maining azorius and it’s basically draw shatter and win vs rogues and red, don’t draw it and lose

This has been the most fun looking deck I’ve seen in Zendikar Rising Standard. Is there anywhere I could find a deck like this but for Bo3
You can just see the happiness on CGB’s face when winning against rogues lol.
I’ve actually been undefeated versus rogues with this big red deck in BO3. Turns out storms wrath and Phoenix of ash is pretty sweet
Hahahah i love that men without hats!!!
I added a couple of skyclave apparitions and a lithoform engine so I could copy doom triggers or spells in general.
I nominate " Danse Macabre" as the victory song.
I suppose that I can expect to fight this deck a lot the next few days.
Nice reference to Phil Collins CGB!!
Hey CGB, have you played Pioneer a bit? Was wondering if that sweet Doom deck would be a thing in that format also, nice video keep it up!

Been playing this (more or less) in plat 1/2 and diamond. It rocks at 70% win. Only struggles with mono-red on the draw (evidently)

It's fun that you can tell what order CGB's videos are in by what rank he is towards the end of the video.

what about this deck with the new bans? any chance to compete with rogues or gruul or milll?
