***** Lmao, this is funny. Granted, I wanted a copy of one, but seeing a ton of ebay sellers selling their copies for ridiculous amounts of money only to see them fail just makes me feel good inside. Oh well, guess it is back to buying Japanese 3Dses like a legit consumer. xD
Oh crap! I own 3 of those games! I'll be rich in the following years! Starfox 64 3D was a Christmas gift. It was from Walmart for 30 bucks. Ocarina of Time 3D was 40 bucks at GameStop I pre-ordered Kid Icarus: Uprising for 40 bucks at GameStop too. But I'll never sell them. They're a gem for me.
Ninten dude789 I got the box for Kid Icarus: Uprising for $40 at Best buy. I can't see myself ever selling it, especially after spending 7-12 hours in a chair to beat the game in one sitting. Overall, it's one of my favorite game on the system so far and I'm trying to 100% it. I found a complete box of OOT3D in a video game exchange shop for about $20 in Oklahoma, I didn't realize that it was becoming uncommon.
decayedmatter It requires common sense. Like you said, how would I get rich by three 3DS games? Why would you ask something like that if you already knew?
tarabaci You guys over there in Germany are pretty lucky. Is the rumor true that amiibos are super common there? Like you could walk into a store and grab a shulk any given day?
Nope. There are prette rary Amiibos here, too. Shulk, Rosalina, the Super Mario line and every one from a new wave of course. But in the US Amiibos like Fox and Marth are rare, right? Here you can have at least three of each in every shop.
Star Fox 64 3D is Selects here in Australia (well at least it has that butt ugly Red Border around it and of course multiple copys in every store that sells games)
Great video! I own every game you showed/talked about just in the natural course of collecting for the 3DS (I'm up to about 130 games!), but most of which I never bothered to see if they're rare or expensive. It makes sense, given the swing towards digital and the niche appeal of many 3DS games. I know you're really into streaming these days, but it's always nice to see a video from you :)
PeteDorr hey dude any games you recommend i get over her in NZ? I only got around 6-7 but originly i had about 13 sold all those ones for money because i knew that they weren't rare and I got pokemon y with the money so yea :/
How much did you spend on all of these games???? So much lifetime, so much money... for what? There might be over 5000 dollars spend on that collection
Nintendo just announced that they will be closing the WiiU and 3DS eShop by the end of March of 2023 and final purchases will only be available until May 23, 2022 (using credit card) and August 23 2022 (using Nintendo eShop cards). Sad to say, all 3DS games might start to hike up in price once the eShop closes so hold on to those 3DS games for as long as you can and to those who want to still collect physical 3DS games, now would be the perfect time to start purchasing them.
Funnily enough the only one of these I have is Cubic Ninja, I got it when the 3DS first came out and I had no games to play on it except Pilotwings Resort. Also the price has risen to about $70 complete since it was pulled from the eShop and is still one of the only ways to hack the 3DS reliably because it's never getting patches to fix the exploit. It is officially the most valuable 3DS game that's not a special edition.
I have no idea how many people have told you this. But cubic ninja is being used to hack or trigger a exploit in the Nintendo 3ds. that's why it's been selling for so much more than $15 I own the game myself and its so so. Not after beating the game I traded to gamestop. Considering I rarely trade games I guess that's saying something. But the true price of the increasing is because people use it to hack their systems and play backups
Atlus games stopped being rare after the 3DS came out. They either gained in popularity or more collectors were grabbing them up, or both. But I buy games to play them, so I'm not going to complain that I can actually afford them.
Personally I think the physical copy of the Louvre exclusive Louvre Guide and the Curtain Call Square store exclusive are some of the most rare ones at this moment. The Louvre guide will be going up in price more and more in the coming years.
DID YOU KNOW I actually subscribed to your channel because of content like this? You are the rare few who talk about DS games that people don't always talk about. It's great for discovering new titles to play :)) And your taste in games is probably the most eclectic I've seen. I really really appreciate that :D thanks for always pumping out great content

When you get games in boxes it looks so good. When I got my Pokemon Heart Gold it came in a damn cool box and I just fell in love with the game. Good times.
Barbie groom and glam pups for the 3ds SOMEHOW got CRAZY in value. It's at least US$500,00 on ebay The DS and Wii versions are basically shovelware games I still don't know why this game got so rare but if someone has the information to share please tell me I'm curious
I own a copy of Tales of the Abyss 3D, holding onto as the value keeps rising with that game. The series seems to be getting more and more popular with each new game so it might have the "Fire Emblem" effect on earlier releases.
For those in the UK, Rhythm Thief has dramatically dropped in price to around £5-10. Also, you can currently get Kid Icarus on shopto for under £20. Jump on that!
I would also think that games that never got released on the EShop will hold their worth better than games that you can download from the EShop. Most of the games you mentioned are a good examples of this.
Fun Fact: The original run of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time does not have an electronic manual. So you can tell if a later copy has been stuck in an older case. Early Nintendo 3DS games still had paper manuals. The electronic manual is included on the cartridge and is not provided by any kind of software update. So glad I preordered that game back in 2011!
no mention of Alien Chaos 3D? that game is going for like $50! (it's by Ludosity, the same people who made games like Psycard, Iji, Ittle Dew, Princess Remedy, and Card City Nights)
Natalie Meyers Sorry for the super late reply, but I picked this game up for 20 dollars in the bargain bin at K Mart and was shocked to see how much it’s selling for.. the game is pretty unremarkable, but I guess it went very under the radar. It could be worth some money like 20 years from now. I’m glad I have the box and manual also.
NewCanadianTurtle Are you saying that this video is useless? It tells you how to become a game collector. Look for game with low printing and research them.
Star Fox 64 3D and Kid Icarus Uprising are among the most expensive 3DS games on Amazon from what I've seen. If Nintendo re-issued either of 'em they'd probably make a mint, especially with a new SF on the way.
Speaking of exspensive Nintendo games, even though this is kind of off topic, Conker's Bad Fur Day can't be had for less then $80 around where I live. IF you can find it.
Captain Klyde I vave oot 3d but i used to have kid icarus uprising it was the collectors edotion and the box got torn up and I lost the ar cards and stand and game but That got lost
That Dark Cloud poster in the background... I thought I was the only one that liked, let alone played that game! I wish it had gotten more attention when it came out because now would be a perfect time for a re-release or a Dark Cloud 3.
Cubic Ninja has terrible reviews. It's value is high because it contains an exploit that allows you to install Homebrew (NinjHax) onto your 3DS. Don't buy it to play it mate.
+NOOBtella It might be you that's stupid. By installing Homebrew and then using that to do the kernel exploit. You can install custom firmware. This means that you can download and run all games from all regions of the world for free. Ninjhax allows you to do this and can never be patched meaning that its a permanent exploit.
@@gerald3339 it's even more stupid that people would pay ANY money for homebrew because there are free methods available. In fact, other methods existed when the comment was posted...
Cubic ninja isnt that good and it was about 10 bucks a year ago. The reason why it skyrocketed is because someone discovered an exploit that allowed them to hack the 3ds and make homebrew stuff for it, and it used something that was in the code for cubic ninja. I think it was patched, but the price hasnt dropped since.
Oh snap, I've had Cave Story 3D with the holographic cover since it came out. Didn't know I was sitting on a gold mine with it :P Then I also have Ocarina 3D, StarFox 3D and Kid Icarus (with stand and cards, but no paper box).
I remember when I went to pick up Rhythm Thief at EBGames at launch. When I got to the counter and asked if they had any copies, they said they did, but that they'd only been sent one copy. I believe the game had a low print run due to this. Combine this with the fact that the iOS version of the game no longer exists anymore, and the only way to play the game now is on 3DS (I don't know if it's on the eShop, but that just makes the physical copies all the more valuable if it is.)
Wow! I´m a proud owner of seven of those games - Starfox, Zelda, Code Of Princess (with CD), SMT IV (with CD), Soul Hackers (with CD), Kid Icarus (with the stand and 80 cards), Rhythm Thief...,. I had Blazblue once.... but I really hated that you can´t use the slider - and it´s a pain to play with with the D-pad... and to think that Cubic Ninja and Cave Story could be bought very cheap not long ago and today they´re considered uncommon...... Great video, man! Loved it.
Me when he mentions the 3 "rare" games: Ocarina of Time 3D reaction: I have the downloadable version of that. I wasn't willing to pay $60 for a used copy. Star Fox 64 3D reaction: Fuck! I traded that game and wound up buying a digital copy. Kid Icarus Uprising reaction: Holy shit I have that! *looks behind pillow for secret game stash*. Also, I got the full package with the cards, the stand and whatever else there was. (I bought the game for $40 new when it came out.)
I own Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure, I have both a physical copy and the eshop download. It's honestly an amazing game, and well worth the money. The characters are loveable, the music is amazing, the story is good, it's just great in general. I doubt it'll ever be reprinted again because there was very little talk about this game in the first place, and not many copies were printed, as well as it didn't sell well. If you ever manage to find a physical copy, pick it up. Or you can buy it off the eshop for $20 and give it a go.
Etrian Odyssey Untold's complete-in-box with the soundtrack Launch Edition is actually pretty rare these days. Last I checked it went anywhere from 40-60 dollars.
My friend actually gave me his copy of Cave Story 3D for free on my birthday 2 1/2 years ago. This was during my freshman year in high school, and even though I had only known him since the beginning of the school year, he gave me the game AND the slip cover that went along with it, even though he knew how rare it was. I still have the game to this day and I do not plan on selling it.
A game that has became EXTREMELY rare in the UK is Harvest Moon 3D: A New Beginning. I wanted to try a harvest moon game so I thought that with my recently purchased 3ds, it would be great starting point in the series. It took me months and eventually I had to buy it from amazon for £25. Cheaper than what I thought, but sure as hell inconvenient.
I bought Zelda Oot, Star Fox 64, and Kid Icarus: Uprising when they first came out. I kept Zelda and Kid Icarus, but traded in Star Fox to GameStop months later. But I regret it because I realized I loved that version of Star Fox 64 and so I recently bought it again for $45 unfortunately.
About a month ago I found a hard copy of OOT 3D for $40. It was in one of the rows where Majora's Mask should have been at a poorly-stocked, small town Walmart. I got it because I just bought my 3ds and had resigned myself to a digital copy. The thing had the 25th anniversary slip in the case, indicating a 2011 printing.
wow, when i begged me mum to get two (OoT3D, Uprising) of what you mentioned, i didn't expect them to be rare or uncommon. thanks for letting me know to hold on to those games for dear life
The physical editions of Senran Kagura Burst and Senran Kagura 2 will be expensive and rare as hell in the future, I guess. Don't know for sure, but the Double D edition of SK2 sure will.
Cubic Ninja is not in demand, because it is fun. It is in demand because it contains a exploit that can be used to install a homebrew channel to the 3DS.
Well I'm only missing three games out of all the games you mentioned with regards to games that I am interested in. Those games are: Kid Icarus: Uprising Blazblue Cave Story 3D Eventually I'll simply save my money to eventually buy them but I sincerely hope people aren't just fixated on the rarity alone. Those games actually have one more thing in common that a lot of gamers should take notice. For the most part, they're actually incredibly good games and if people do buy them I certainly hope they'll give them a try instead of just being focused on how rare and expensive it is.
I kind of wish that there was more promotion for 3ds titles. All you see are the usual Mario, Zelda, Smash brothers, Mario cart, etc and that's fine, but it amazes me how many games seem to go over my head whenever I look on amazon. I mean, I'd love to hear about some games such as Persona Q or other series.
i wish ocarina of time didnt get rare because i got my 3DS about a month ago and loved the game on N64 as a child i really hope Nintendo makes it again and btw right now its 51 USD on amazon
I think the most expensive game I still own, with the jewel case and booklet, is Suikoden II, for the ps1. When I got it as a teen, I never really considered about games going up in value.
I will never forget......I held Cave Story 3D in my hands in GS for around £25......and put it back as I didn't think it looked any special................T_T the word "regret" doesn't even BEGIN to explain my condition!!
I bought a digital version of KI Uprising just because I thought it's be easier to keep it with me. I regret it even more because the only full retail game I have on my 3DS right now is Smash 4, and that's enormous, so now, I can't even download and replay KI Uprising without deleting one of my favorite games.
I own 3 of the games showed here, being: Ocarina of Time 3D Kid Icarus: Uprising Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure All of them were just casually bought at a random store, shortly after they were released.
I'm keeping my BlazBlue, also it's probably highly sought after because of the American cover if it's BlazBlue collectors. Because of it's lack of popularity when launched and being out of print. It's more rare than any region and the cover makes it collectable.
In England I found a preowned professor layton vs ace attorney in a game store going for £35 ($54), although games tend to be way more expensive here anyway.
I still have the box, stand, and cards for Uprising, glad i held onto them. I also thought SMT 4 collectors edition and Soul Hackers would be worth something. Still glad i got them.
I certainly own StarFox 64 3D, Kid Icarus Uprising and Ocarina of Time 3D boxed. Rhythm Thief... I'm so glad you mentioned that. It's such an underrated little gem on the 3DS. I remember seeing the trailers on the eShop back in 2012 and I really wanted to play the game. It seemed to have an interesting premise. It wasn't until recently that I managed to get a hold of a copy, but the reason I didn't before is because I already had plans to get more of the "bigger" 3DS games, so I stalled in getting Rhythm Thief. If anyone's considering it after seeing this video, I can't recommend it enough. It has a compelling storyline, and interesting mini-games. Though, you might find yourself walking around the map half of the time and that's when I think it falls flat in that regard. Oh and isn't Kingdom Hearts 3D rare now? It wasn't in the PS3 remastered versions, and I've seen copies online for about 30-40 pounds. I own a copy. I always wanted Cubic Ninja too, despite the reviews-- I at least wanted to try out the game but oh god, then all the exploits surfaced, and despite Nintendo patching it, the price isn't going down at all. I guess it's because people are not planning on updating their system, so that they can hack it.
Your predictions were spot on you were just a little early lol think this vid needs an update been recently picking up more games for my 3ds collection would love to see your current collection
Cubic Ninja went crazy in value because it could be used to hack the 3DS.
empire Nice, no wonder! I'm not into the hacking scene. Still looks like a decent game though.
empire oh wtf I have Cubic Ninja.. I played it for 10 minutes before putting it on the shelf
empire I am glad you said something. Yeah the only reason it is worth anything is for hacking. There are tons of copies out there.
empire I believe Nintendo has since patched the hack, rendering Cubic Ninja kind of worthless, unless you have never updated your 3DS.

It requires common sense. Like you said, how would I get rich by three 3DS games? Why would you ask something like that if you already knew?
decayedmatter
And you knew that they're dumb right?
Pass those games down when u have kids..im sure they will love to play them
Strange. Here in Germany Ocarina Of Time 3D and especially Star Fox 3D is very common. You get Star Fox for like 10$ in stores.
tarabaci Looks like you could make some cash picking them up for $10 and selling them on ebay in the US.
David Eastwell Region lock.
tarabaci You guys over there in Germany are pretty lucky.

tarabaci Let me guess. Ocarina of Time in Germany has German only language...
And after 1 year and 5 months the legend of zelda ocarina of time and star fox 64 3d are nintendo selects:D
geileskind64 Star Fox 64 3D is also a Nintendo Selects game? I haven't found it.
Cookie026 no, Star Fox 64 3D isn't a Nintendo Selects game.
starfox 64 isn't Nintendo selects lol
Star Fox 64 3D is Selects here in Australia (well at least it has that butt ugly Red Border around it and of course multiple copys in every store that sells games)
I just bought the starfox 64 nintendo selects today for 8 euro's here in holland.

Nintendo just announced that they will be closing the WiiU and 3DS eShop by the end of March of 2023 and final purchases will only be available until May 23, 2022 (using credit card) and August 23 2022 (using Nintendo eShop cards). Would really like to see this same video but focusing on the DS..a lot of games starting to get pricey!!
Good stuff Petey!
Warning you guys. Shantae and the Pirate's Curse as a physical copy is going to hit the EarthBound range of price.
I have a 3DS game that is not at all rare but the packaging is, The Omega Ruby Alpha Sapphire double pack
***** it is noob, noob.
Double pack?
ky Both games in one pack, and both games gives you 100 potions for free.
Every Pokemon game holds some value regardless.
@@reidcircuits826 . i agree. Because pokemon has a big fan base. Around the world.
Fire Emblem Awakening, the game doesn´t down of the 40 bucks
I think it is fair. I saw it on Gametop but it was pre-owned for the same price. It means it is rare for collectors.
True, Xenoblade Chronicles too. On GameStop it doesn't get lower than 50.
@@claymore339 I know this is old but I got Xenoblade Chronicles 3D for $20 at my GameStop
Isnt pokemon heartgold/soul silver Expensive if it is in the box with the pokewalker?
EDIT: I just remembered that this is a 3ds one
Lol
Inhave both hg/ss boxes are in minet condition and have both pokéwalkers :D
In the U.S I seen them for 60+
I've*
The non used ones with a pokewalker are worth alot
You are definitely right about Kid Icarus Uprising. I've had a lot of trouble trying to get a copy of the game here in Australia let alone for cheap.
Zelda's 70-80 dollars? I saw it on amazon for $18.89.
Chris Garner it was probably because of Nintendo select
+Ryner Lute
I actually found Tales of the Abyss for around 10 bucks on an local reseller, He seemingly had no idea he could charge much more for it^^
The only reason "Cubic Ninja" is anywhere near rare is because it was the game used to hack 3DS's.
Feels like the 3DS was released just yesterday. Man time sure does fly by quick!
Id love to see you recheck the prices for 2021.

Wow Rhythm Thief Sealed is absolutely rare now.
Kingdom Hearts is rare? You can still get it for $20 pretty much anywhere.
kingdom hearts dream drop distance?
Drini Krasniqi I didn't know there was another on the 3DS.
I heard that one was good
Mighty Yellow it is
Well if I liked the KH games on the DS I can't wait to play that one on 3DS!

6:52 That's what I thought for Senran Kagura 2, I thought the boxed version was rare at one point, but I actually found it for very cheap!!!
Videos like this are like porn for OCD. My wallet has a small panic attack every time I see your face in my feed.
Star Fox 64 3D and Kid Icarus Uprising are among the most expensive 3DS games on Amazon from what I've seen. If Nintendo re-issued either of 'em they'd probably make a mint, especially with a new SF on the way.
You look and sound like a really calm AlphaOmegaSin
Speaking of exspensive Nintendo games, even though this is kind of off topic, Conker's Bad Fur Day can't be had for less then $80 around where I live. IF you can find it.
Wow I got Legend of Zelda Ocarina of TIme 3d when it was $20.00 and same with Kid Icarus X(kid icarus was $40)
Captain Klyde omg i want it
Captain Klyde I vave oot 3d but i used to have kid icarus uprising it was the collectors edotion and the box got torn up and I lost the ar cards and stand and game but That got lost
Captain Klyde op
i got Legend of Zelda Ocarina of TIme 3d for $22
crashyourca r
omg i love that game and nice buy on it for $22
That Dark Cloud poster in the background...
It can cost you like 70-120$. So for those people who spend this amount of money to hack their 3DS, well, these people are pretty stupid
+The Silver Tunist if you think he has bad reviews search up"gligar 13 bad games"
Worn-Out Shuu But they weren't a primary exploit. Only Ninjahax was.
What would you rate Dark Cloud?? I give 10/10
dark cloud series were awesome
Oh snap, I've had Cave Story 3D with the holographic cover since it came out. Didn't know I was sitting on a gold mine with it :P
Then I also have Ocarina 3D, StarFox 3D and Kid Icarus (with stand and cards, but no paper box).
Is Xenoblade 3D rare
Um no I see it at almost every game store I go to
The original game is rare. I had to import it from overseas to get my copy.
And now it's on Amazon for $80, at least a new copy.
@@damiangracia8111 i got it for 4 dollars at eb games for there xmas sale
The cleaned up look you're sporting is great Pete, keep up the professionalism, it will open doors.
Two words:
Cubic Ninja... That game goes for 100+ on amazon right now because of a 3DS Homebrew Hack exploit
Loved it.
Me when he mentions the 3 "rare" games:
Ocarina of Time 3D reaction: I have the downloadable version of that.
(I bought the game for $40 new when it came out.)
all most all those games are easy to find and cheap at wal-mart, toy r us, or EB games in Canada
souperman72 Yup.
Any Etrian odyssey games are now considered rare
I bought ocarina of time for $76 brand new on eBay and I still don't regret it lmao
Ultimate NES Remix is holding its price & is becoming rare in the market. Its an old school type of games during early 90's.
when i found kingdom of hearts for super cheap i made sure i snapped it up!
I learned what a lenticular surface was in this video. I had come across them for my entire life and never knew what to call it
wow, when i begged me mum to get two (OoT3D, Uprising) of what you mentioned, i didn't expect them to be rare or uncommon. thanks for letting me know to hold on to those games for dear life
Cubic Ninja was one of those games that went for like $3 before it was discovered to be usable for 3DS home brew hacking.
Funny thing is that out of all of these games Soul Hackers is now the 2nd or 3rd most expensive if complete in box.
Those games are:
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Blazblue
Cave Story 3D
Eventually I'll simply save my money to eventually buy them but I sincerely hope people aren't just fixated on the rarity alone. Those games actually have one more thing in common that a lot of gamers should take notice. For the most part, they're actually incredibly good games and if people do buy them I certainly hope they'll give them a try instead of just being focused on how rare and expensive it is.
Thanks dude I have 3 of these. Also worth mentioning that game from the Lourve museum in France has to be the rarest 3ds game out there.
I think the Atlas games have become common because the digital versions go on sale for $15-$20 regularly.
That Dark Cloud poster though. Dope game. I need to get a hold of that and a PS2 again.
i wish ocarina of time didnt get rare because i got my 3DS about a month ago and loved the game on N64 as a child i really hope Nintendo makes it again
and btw right now its 51 USD on amazon
I think the most expensive game I still own, with the jewel case and booklet, is Suikoden II, for the ps1. When I got it as a teen, I never really considered about games going up in value.
I love how meticulous you are with the games. I love art books and I honestly pick up a lot of random games just because it comes with art books
Congrats on 100'000 subs!!
Keep up the great work
I will never forget......I held Cave Story 3D in my hands in GS for around £25......and put it back as I didn't think it looked any special................T_T the word "regret" doesn't even BEGIN to explain my condition!!
i used to own starfox64 3d when i was younger and i love that game so much. multiplayer with my brother was a blast
I bought a digital version of KI Uprising just because I thought it's be easier to keep it with me. I regret it even more because the only full retail game I have on my 3DS right now is Smash 4, and that's enormous, so now, I can't even download and replay KI Uprising without deleting one of my favorite games.
I own 3 of the games showed here, being:
Ocarina of Time 3D
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure
All of them were just casually bought at a random store, shortly after they were released.
Gamestop sells used Ocarina of Time for like $54, but on the Nintendo eshop you can buy it digitally for $39.99
ocarina of time is still for sale everywhere here in Canada. Every Walmart has a ton of copies from what i've seen
I'm keeping my BlazBlue, also it's probably highly sought after because of the American cover if it's BlazBlue collectors. Because of it's lack of popularity when launched and being out of print. It's more rare than any region and the cover makes it collectable.
I have Cave Story 3D WITH the slip!
And Ocarina of Time 3D!
AND Star Fox 64 3D!
Man, I am SOOO lucky!
superdavid14Gaming RIP to the ocarina of Time rareness.
I guess it's because people are not planning on updating their system, so that they can hack it.
paid $75 for my OoT 3D.. bought it in time to cash in on the club points too, really appreciated the points weren't used!
When I got my copy of kid Icarus with the box, stand and cards, I got for $35.00. This was about a year ago and I can't believe how the price doubled.
Hah, odd, I think I found Rythm Thief in a bargain bin
Your predictions were spot on you were just a little early lol think this vid needs an update been recently picking up more games for my 3ds collection would love to see your current collection
Theatrhytm is a rare game - the original, that sells for more than its retail price even though the sequel goes really cheap now
