Question I know you shouldn’t pick your hair when dry, only soft so how often should I pick my hair or am I better off just combing only
If you need to fluff out your hair quick you can use a pick if you are gentle. What I do is I gently pull up from the root of my hair until I feel it snag and repeat on the rest of my head until it looks good. If you need to actually detangle your hair then yes it needs to be damp/wet, maybe with some conditioner too.

If you’re 18, you’re not fully developed yet. Wait till about 22/23 and see how you look. I’d suggest to grow out the top to even out everything. I think short haircuts are better for people with the perfect head/faceshapes
