Excellent points here!! Rule #1 - never Assume!! We all know what happens.
Bearings ARE Cheap, BUT (and I say this on LESS than a shoestring Budget), GOOD Bearings don't have to be replaced as often. They're not that much more, and are worth it in the end.
Also - I'm SURE that you noticed, but that Transmission was *DRY!!* 😫 The Factory rarely puts enough Grease in them when new, and several "newer experts" tell you to use Grease SPARINGLY. *NO!!* WHY? In a racing Vehicle, heavy Grease WILL cost you a Win... But Crawlers - the whole Drivetrain spins SO much slower, that it won't even know that you added extra Grease!! 😊👍👍 Seriously.
I've mentioned that I only use Marine Grease. It doesn't turn into a Brown GOO when it gets wet, and properly used, can even keep water from getting INTO the components! This Grease does an excellent job of STAYING where you put it.
I always put some around both sides of the Bearings.
I put it around all input/output Shafts.
And a good coating (not globbed on), on the Teeth of the Gears. Something you're not told often enough... By Design, Gears will eject any Grease that they don't need. So even if there is some initial drag.... it goes Away!!
You're ALWAYS better off with a little too much, than not enough.
I was a Team Driver for Associated in the 80's, and Team OFNA in the 90's. Over greasing was something we would NEVER do then! We even took the Grease out of our Bearings, and replaced it with LIGHT OIL. 😵😱 Anything for that extra 1/2 second Lap time increase.
Of course, Light Oil in the Bearings of these heavier, dirtier, more stressed Rigs, would be certain DEATH. 🆖🌋
So yeah, don't be afraid to use a little extra. Your Rig will thank you!
My only Rig is an Axial Wraith. I built it 3 years ago, and has not needed a SINGLE new Bearing. I also used Fast Eddy Bearings when I built the Kit. 😉

I learned that when I buy my scx10 2 I'll need to open up the tranny and diffs and make sure they're greased up and water proofed before driving it :)

More than likely after the first of the year. They may release a different body by then, which I hope they do. Frankly I'd love an scx10-2 with a complete honcho body on it :)
