We came in March 2024 staying at Outrigger in Kaanapali. Whalers Village was busy, and we especially loved to see how the excursions were able to operate. We come almost every year and am glad to see it being rebuilt.
Love your video. So sad that the beaches are not full. How i hope all those fantastic hawaiians who lost a little, a lot or everything are being taken care of and know that we love them all!!
Thank you for posting this video. I booked our flights and our room just three days before the fire. We are staying at the KBH (you skipped right over it in the video! :) ) I was conflicted about going but now I feel better about it. My heart goes out to all the people effected by the fire.
We had a great time. We visited the memorial fence and donated to the relief center. The locals we talked to were glad we were there. Over all positive vibe everywhere we went. @@JesseGWald
Love this hotel. I’m glad it’s able to reopen. Of course my heart breaks for everyone impacted by the fire in Lahaina. Devastating. For the economy I am relieved to see people visiting and I will be in 2 weeks. I am looking forward to this trip very much. Thank you for this superb video. I will share the video for sure. 🙂 You are very sensitive and thoughtful in your videos Jesse.
I will run the 1/2 marathon next year on April. I signed up months before the tragedy. After thinking about it I just booked at OUTRIGGER Kaanapali Beach Resort yesterday. I want to support the island visiting. Can you please confirm if this hotel is open to the public? You didn't mention it in this video. Thank you so much for the update. The beach look amazing!
We are staying next week at the Whaler for the first time since 2022. It will be sad to drive by Lahaina. We miss the Banyan tree and the street life around it.
JUst come away after spending 9 glorious days at the Alii all I say is if you go to west Maui be kind respectful & show Aloha this town & its people are raw with understandable grief dont go near front street & other burnt areas BE RESPECTFUL
I've stayed at the Marriott twice but it's too expensive now. I stay at the Kaanapali Beach Club or an Aston property 😕. $600 for a room and a bed is just crazy when I only use it for 8 hours to sleep.
So sad as this time of year the beaches would be lined with people. I would never go to Maui out of respect for the residents of lahaina. The damage in my viewpoint not natural. There has to be an investigation as if everything starts reopening people will normalize this catastrophe. And I will have no part in that.
I agree. They know that in time people forget. Those people affected in Lahaina will never forget. I love that beautiful place but I want the people back where they belong. I don’t want it to turn into some things I’ve heard.
Still feels disrespectful while there is so much disparity for the people who are still misplaced, missing and still mourning the loss of loved one’s. To see to date that there is still much clean up needed is mind boggling.
Just look at that beautiful water! That's a great beach, too. Soothing sound and a very nice video. Thank you.

I left my heart at Maui. I can't wait to go back and visit

The Outrigger Ka’anapali Beach Resort was missed in your ‘mentions’! Our favourite place to stay!
Bingo
That's the hotel I am interested in also.
Going there in a few weeks for my honeymoon yay
Just flew Hawaiian to Kauai via Maui I was pleasantly surprised to have extra room due to empty seats but eventually realized why.
Amazing the rich houses like Oprah’s house didn’t get a scratch
That's because he house is on the south side of the island

Is anyone checking water contamination in that area? Is it safe to swim? We are thinking about staying at Hilton Vacation Club Ka'anapali Beach
No fly zone? I've seen many people fly drones over Lahaina since Aug today is Dec 30.
was there fires in kihei as well? how have clean up and rebuild efforts been so far? my condolences to to those who lost loved ones
Was Aston Kaanapali Villas Hotel in the view?
How do we locate information about weekly rentals of these condos?
@mickfoster4936 VRBO.com is a great place to start.
I'm more concerned about those who lost everything in Lihina
How in the hell did those deaths happen ? The road is right beside the ocean?

"I would never go to Maui" That's just what local businesses in Maui need! SMH...
