I recently rebuilt the motor on a 2004 YZ250F dirtbike. If you own any larger cc dirt bike, chances are a valve adjustment is coming up around the corner for you. DO NOT NEGLECT YOUR VALVE ADJUSTMENT. Failure to stay on top of a valve inspection service can cause your bike to be extremely difficult to start or can wear engine components out prematurely.
enjoy!

Excellent straight forward tutorial!
Will have my son sub immediately.
Thank you.
2:43 Using the side of the big flathead blade usually works too. It’s longer than the blade tip and tapers to fill the slot.
Great vid. I "need" the cam chain tensioner lock. Where do I find one? Thanks!
I have 1997 Honda shadow 1100 replace coil packs, spark park, wires and spark plug now not getting spark plugs to the front right of the motor and it’s backfiring right at first start multiple times after idles when it’s warming up giving it gas it doesn’t backfire when I use the choke after it warms up and idles down it backfires multiple times then once to try to cut off, but if I put it back on choke it will run need help please
His beard is so good now that he has stopped brushing it
That thing still needs a new countershaft sprocket! :)
This thing needs a lot.
Very nice video
Cody what are your thoughts on setting the lash to the loosest end kf the range …. Am I too fussy or would it be worth it for a DIYer to do it now since I would have it sort of apart….. thoughts?
Loose is fine. Typically valves wear inward. Meaning the clearances will
Only get tighter with wear. Especially for shim under systems where the most wear takes place at the face of the valve instead of the tip like tappet systems.
@@TheMotorcycleMDthanks for the response and the how or where part of the wear of the two systems. Bonus info as always.
Todo bien, pero es importante aclarar que diámetro tienen las monedas.
