I like the floor and the furniture. Not so much the couch and chair, I think the room needs something more formal and elegant as well as cozy. But you have a really good base. Perhaps a splash of color, like dusty rose or sage green to go with the gold. Add some velvet pieces to warm up the room, for example, draperies that pick up a color from the wallpaper and go from there. Just some ideas.

Thank you. You are spot on. I have been picking up pieces. I have a beautiful vintage chandelier, a stunning art deco lamp in green and gold. I have velvet curtains already that are dusky pink. The floor I'm tiling but making my own. That's just the start. I live your tips thank you xxx

Just watched the Saturday ramble, l love following you train of thoughts how you slowly work out what and when you will continue, keep the ball rolling, or should l say, keep the balls juggling, remember, if you let one fall, the whole world could come tumbling down…. :)

Only you would love a clock for not keeping time Sarah. Victorian style tiles sound lovely but they are pretty expensive. Love them in hallways but don't think they are cosy for a living room. We have originals in our hall and stained glass windows and original door. Have you thought of a very large rug with wood flooring around the edges. My grandmother had her living room like that. Love the ornate topper on your fireplace. If you want a Victorian vibe, perhaps a period anaglypta on the bottom half of your room would look amazing. How the Victorian's decorated. They would then put stripes, floral or flocked wallpaper above the dado rail. They went for heavy velvet or brocade curtains on a brass pole and heavy lace nets. Perhaps a Chesterfield style sofa would be a good fit. I have two leather Chesterfield sofas in our living room now. They are a lovely mid brown colour, not dark at all and very classy in lovely leather and dark wood tiny legs on castors. I bought them from Thomas Lloyd when they had a sale. Look so classy and perfect for an older home. I know you will get there. You just need to picture it fully in your mind before you start the next time. Our house is a bit different because it is full of Indian art, Malaysian art and Middle Eastern art. We have a large Turkish floor lamp and our lamps are Indian brass with silk shades. We have an Indian handpainted chest and Indian sheesham furniture. I collect elephants so the artwork usually portrays them somewhere. I suppose it is the hippy vibe I loved when I was younger. Love my rock music. Take care.Wendy

Awwww Wendy your house sounds so beautiful. Yes your right about the tiles. I like the wood idea. I'm going to add it to my plan board which I'm going to create to help me stay focused lol xxxx

    Hi Sarah.
    Only just found your channel.
Have you done any videos on local Tartarian buildings?
I'm an expat of Rotherham, in Australia 21 years, and enjoy views of my homeland, but itd be interesting to see amazing local old architecture built hundreds of years ago when people " were still riding horse and cart..." eye roll.
