For example I run an pnline bathbomb business and make a steady income . from what I'm gathering would I be able to come there, find a place to live ....n then Go register? I'm most interested in the school system for my two children. I absolutely will not put my kids back in an American school.

    Sorry for bothering, ive watched many videos but the amount of information confuses me and give me headache. is there a simplified list somewhere of the steps i need to take to move to finland? basically what im intrested in is ive saved enough money to purchase a house there but i am living in the Netherlands and i have a ID (Not the passport).in what order do i have to prepare to come? 1. find work/ 2. register residency / 3. buy house/ 4. get Finnish ID/ 5. get Finnish bank account? i have many more questions this is how unclear it is to me

    • @AleksiHimself
      @AleksiHimself  4 місяці тому

      1. Apply for a right of residency registration on Enter Finland. As an EU citizen (if you're Dutch), you need only sufficient funds to support your life in Finland; you don't need a permit.
      2. Book a meeting with Migri's service point. You get a Personal Identity Code during the visit.
      3. Get a Finnish bank account.
      4. Register residency with DVV
      5. Buy a house.
      Getting a job is recommended tho.

    • @damien523

    Aleksi.... I wish there was a private way to ask this question. You have a wealth of knowledge and insight. You also address questions in a very straight up way. So, I am in the process of applying for a "returnee" type visa (my grandparent was Finnish by birth and migrated with his family as a child). With my "returnee" type visa, I will be accompanied by my wife and our 3 teenage children. I am former military with tertiary degree in psychology (10+ years experience). My wife is a Phd Psychologist (with 20+ years exprience). We have strong English language skills but NO knowledge of Finn language. Putting aside all else, do you believe our tertiary qualifications/experience will help us in any meaningful way?

Do you think I could easily find a job in Finland with my degree ? If so, do you have any tips about where should I look first ?

    • @forestmanzpedia
      @forestmanzpedia 4 роки тому

      As far as I know degrees and graduations are generally accepted within EU countries... but not everything gets accepted. It could be that your degree gets accepted only by half, which means you can do additional work to let it fully recognize later on. That is because countries have often their own terms and conditions when it comes to various degrees. So in this case, you need inform yourself and ask Finnish agencies. In case you are an EU citizen, then you shouldn't have much trouble or none. (: I know a hungarian teacher, who moved to Germany. Her degree was only recognized by half and had to do some extra work (to fulfill the terms and conditions) to get her title as teacher accepted.

    I'm Croatian & have EU citizenship. I'm a freelance graphic designer, and I hope that's enough to move to Helsinki. I know the Tax is high, but I'm not even sure how they would tax my income as I work for myself but don't exactly have a business aside from my Etsy store/website.
    I'm going to e-mail an immigration specialist, but I'm hoping to hear good news. I can't stand living in the States anymore.

      If you have an EU passport you can move to Finland freely. Basically what you should is just to set up a business (proprietorship or limited liability company) and you will be taxed as an entrepreneur.

      @@cruentorum9509 with EU citizenship you can travel in any EU country freely for 90 days. If you want to stay longer, you need to register your residency in that country but that's very easy n quick to do.

      Like I said I'm no immigration specialist, but my guess is that church records would only prove your relationship and not the fact that your grandparents were born Finnish.
