I have an Alpine radio that has a voltage display in my Civic and notice that with ECO activated the voltage drops to 11.9 V when on the throttle and at idle, and it immediately goes up to 13.8 V when off throttle and coasting. With ECO off the voltage stays constant at 13.8 V. I noticed this when in bumper to bumper traffic and the wipers were very sluggish.
@TeeFat no im talking bout eco mode. itll throw less fuel which will cost your spark plugs to burn out more, n rings to not have the fuel it should. plus tranny finna change gears before it has to frequently before needs to baxk n forth waisting synchros n if belt just gon tare it wit time. eco only good if u gonna drive out few miles n are on the freeway. not worth daily use light to light stop n go. same goes to idle stop not worth it

I get better gas milage with it off.. I drive city and start stop a lot. So econ ends up hurting me under those conditions

That may be true for new Hondas but I have a 2017 Fit and Eco mode consumes more gas and much less response than off.
Same even i have a crv hybrid, with econ mode on i get 33 mpg turning it off gives me 40 mpg

Yes you can turn on/off anytime
eco mode damages the motor coo if crusing be reasonable wit it dont use on daily or heat weather just long trips to save your piston rings
Aren't you talking about SVM, which is different from ECO mode?
