One of my favourite armoured vehicles. I like the design and aggressive look. Some serious armour plating on it as well. I would love a longer video on it for sure! Thanks
@@paulbutterworthbillericay I'm imagining it would pitch and roll so would have to be driven gently. It would have a 'don't mess with me or I'll squash you' presence on the road as well🤣. I just think to look at, the design and historic aspects they are such interesting vehicles. Very cool indeed.
The Humber "1 ton" refers to the payload, an FV1601 GS or FFW truck was more around the 4 ton mark. The upgrade to MK1 and later MK2 "Pigs" (FV1611/1612) brought the weight to 6.5 ton and then later 7.2 ton. Later still when adding wings (flying pig), roof hatch and for some models turret and stand off armour it would be over 8 ton. It is nice to see a MK2 that has not been turned into a fantasy piece, but "as is". I have owned a few and loved every journey in them. They are not fast but they do drive well and visibility is surprisingly good.
Incredible to think a 1 Ton design ended up being almost 8!!, I wonder how it is to drive one on our streets when looking through open armour steel doors on the front & side windows

Thanks, yes. Imagine driving such a vehicle to an event on English roundabouts

@alamore5084 Yes definitely give it a wide birth due yo the blind spots, especially reversing

@@paulbutterworthbillericay It weighed 4 tonnes, it could carry 1 ton of cargo.
@TheSussexpillbox Yes, I was reading into what you said about Mk2, my mistake, still impressive
This concept was around long, long before the American lenco bear cat,the lenco bear and other up armored vehicles of today, usa
Yes, you're correct, I'm sure the French & Germans had versions from WW1 with solid wheels
