Anniversary edition looks great, no doubt.
But regular pair goes on sale for over 600$.
1300$ is a little too much for the same speaker with slightly better finish. Nevertheless it’s a great sounding speaker. Keep up the good work.
Yeah, I agree. The R200 is award winning for a reason, but if its all about sound for someone then double the price is not worth it. But if its about owning an exclusive limited item that looks nicer with a specific number for you, then some may appreciate that and the additional price it comes with.
I already spoke to a guy that is getting a pair so at least its good to know some people value that.
@@connectronix17I agree. At some point audio equipment is just as much about looks as it is about sound - I has to sound great, look great, has to make me want to interact with it daily. If you like this speaker and plan on keeping it for a long time, the anniversary edition is definitely worth paying a little extra.
@@sylvio1980 You're absolutely right. With audiophiles they say that there are those that are all about the equipment and don't care much about the music. And there are those that believe it's all about the music and don't care about the equipment.
I feel like it should be both. When I'm sitting there enjoying my music I want to admire the equipment and the set-up and how everything looks. After all, you're sitting there you might as well enjoy the view.
I think that's why there is a valid point to "Audio Jewelry", you should buy things that look cool/nice as well.
Hi Steve, Great video. According to Polk website the AE version has upgraded crossover and new 24k gold 5 way binding posts too besides the cherry finish.
Thanks a lot George! I’m glad you like the video!
I’m kind of new to all of this.
Anyway, I totally agree with what you are saying as I heard that as well.
Although, I’ve seen some reviews were they said they’re identical except for maybe the finish and the gold plated binding posts (along with being Limited Edition).
And then I’ve seen others where they say it has an upgraded crossover as well.
The Polk website says, “Same award-winning acoustics and performance as original R200”
Does that mean it should sound exactly the same?
Then Polk says, “Upgraded aesthetics and components with authentic cherry wood veneer and more.”
So now are we to assume they have an upgraded crossover? And then if the crossover is upgraded, then it should sound better than the original R200, right?
I’d like to take both pairs apart and look at the goodies on the inside to see exactly what the deal is.
But I’m not overly eager to take apart a 1 in 1000 pair of Limited Edition speakers just to look at the insides.
Audio problems,,, lol
@@connectronix17 great speakers. Would love to know if there is any difference in sound ? I don't know anyone who has both pairs at the same time.
Onkyo ps.05 price
Got number 820. Long play in time?
Awesome! It's cool that you got a pair!
Does she cherry finish match LSIM series cherry ?
I honestly wouldn't know. I know the speakers you're asking about but its been so long since I've seen them and haven't done a side by side.
@@connectronix17 got a reply from Polk , it seems the finish is slightly different shade of cherrywood.
Yes Steve I just ordered the same type speakers poke I got the cherry because of I have cherry paradigms so it blends in with them I hope these are good speakers
That's awesome! They're great little speakers for sure. I'd imagine the tonal quality would be smooth and laid back similarly to the Paradigms. And if they look similar too, all the better.
I'd be curious to know what you think of them after you get them set-up and worked-in for awhile.
And of course, we gotta know what number pair you get!
@@connectronix17 I have a pair of the A.E. Look great in cherry. My number is 0567
I can build exactly like that within 500 usd
