I would love to see you review the L800's. The Reserve Series has a ton of positive reviews out there however I've had my eye on the Legend Series for quite sometime now. It would be great to get your take on those.
Another stellar value that outshines its price is the elac debut reference. Very similar in sound to these, but less bass, but if you already have a sub the elac's are a legit competitor to these polks.
Great video I love what Polk did with the R series. Just wish they had a old school 12” 3 way stand up in the line up. But pal, do yourself and your family a favour and get central air. You will be much happier. Our Canadian summers arnt getting any cooler lol! 👍🏻🔈
The polk r200's and the entire reserve line, really punch way above their price. I like bass, and in my opinion these are one of the very few bookshelves that I've been happy without a sub. They play more like a baby tower than bookshelf.
I would greatly be interested in one such review, however I must say that these new lines by polk says a lot about the company and its heritage. They have always tried to present a very good sound to the masses at a relatively stunning price point that has always been there focus, so now I'm guessing they have raised the bar once again. I tend to like there sound and stepping up pass there sound normally is stepping into the area of diminishing returns as it relates some of their models and one would have to start forking out some serious money to get a true jump in a better sound based on my listening preferences that is. I can also say polk was always a safe choice based on my limitations as far as location, return policy and the works is considered. I have owned 3 different series in their line so I now know what my next upgrade will be polk again lol. Im not saying that I have not owned other speakers i currently own some deftech and paradigm also but this is just my preference and as I mentioned it's safe.
I'd be interested in a comparison. I think the big difference between the paradigm and the Polk is with the speaker that you don't own being the center channel. That in my opinion is the big reason to get the legend series although Andrew Robinson actually prefers for sound quality the R series to the Legend series for what that's worth.
@@SpecOfTech So in his R200 review (lTJxF2ktLLk) at 18:40 he talks about thinking it's better. However that was L100 vs R200 which isn't as fair of a fight.
I own them now over a year I originally had the Klipsch 600 m speakers I have to say they sound much nicer than the Klipsch you have to turn these speakers up to appreciate them the high end might be a little harsh for some the bass was fine they had a great soundstage they are worth the money
Great video! A comparison would be great. Lately that same question has been rattling around in my head, much more expensive gear worth it? Looks, build quality, and of course sound are really important. Upgradeitis, and the constant wondering if a better component will improve the presentation.... result is $30,000 and still looking lol. I guess it is all about ones expectations, and being satisfied. Easy to go down the rabbit hole. Company's like Polk, could have possibly come up with a product that makes one question the worth of spending significantly more for a very small gain... Possible, let us know!!! Cheers!
Exactly, that was very well put. There needs to be a line drawn in the sand somewhere. There are so many of us that have upgraded so many times, spent tens of thousands of dollars, and then still end up looking for the next best thing. I have to admit, that I am currently at a point in my journey where I am starting to wonder about all this in a serious way.
@@SpecOfTech Ya man, most of my friends think I'm NUTS! They can't tell the difference or just plain don't care. I have a real simple set up in my family room, SMSL DAC/AMP, Yamaha sub and inexpensive Paradigm bookshelf speakers, 2.1, it is great for TV. Use it a lot and am quite happy. Still, I fire up my big system and go....OOH YA MAN!! lol
Thanks brother. I have to say that the bass from the R200's is quite impressive, I am not sure how much of that would be attributed to their X port. I can't say I have heard any port noise from them yet, I will have to push them hard with a bass heavy song and see what happens.
It's wonderful how at high volume there's no chuffing sound. I have a pair I run on a Yamaha rxa1040 and they sound great. I have a pair of Focal chorus 807v I bought used that are a bit better but less bass and certain classic songs the Polk R 200s are the speakers to beat. The treble is nice and while not on the Focals level the Polks are bright enough to hang
I’d love to see a full review of these. I have these paired to a denon 4520 receiver and an hsu uls-15 mk2 sub and they are awesome. Makes me want to upgrade my receiver to make these really shine. These replaced kef r100 bookshelf. Hope to see more of your reviews and videos.
Thanks brother! The full review of these will be coming, if you want to check it out consider subscribing. I also plan on comparing them to several other bookshelf speakers.
Why do you hate yourself, get a couple portable A/C units! Certainly they would cost less than most of your audio equipment lol. That aside, thanks for all the great videos!
Self loathing really is popular these days, I just want to fit in lol. I do have some portable AC units, but when we use them, we use them upstairs in the bedrooms. They would be far too loud to use while recording anyway. I did get a quote on a central AC unit, and we are considering installing one for next summer. Thanks for watching...cheers.
@@dreadedtred Were you able to find an American company selling the MW rack? I bought mine in Canada that is why I tried to find something similar for you. Good luck on the shopping brother. Get yourself some LED light strips too, that is how I lit mine up.

Yes to comparison..picked up the R400 Center a couple of weeks ago it's excellent. Have R700 Towers locked in on sale but on Back order
I have heard that the R700 are pretty much hard to get everywhere now. I was hoping to get some in for review, it might have to wait for a while now.
Was going to get 4 of these for my sim racing rig but out of stock everywhere ended up buying magnat thx and I don't regret.
I went from Klipsch RF7 llls to Polk R700s. I wasn't expecting much but wow! Sold the RF7s the next week
Well that is quite the statement! What would you say are the main differences you heard between the 2?

True . They need a bit of juice to get them singing.

Wasn't aware of the "turbine" bass port on the rear. Funky looking, wonder how much it actually contributes to sound. Great review as always!

Truthfully, you shouldn't have try to be as honest as possible.
