- Sean Forest Roberts and Valeri Aleksandrov of Forest Ceramic Co. have developed a slip-casting technique to create rainbow marbling on porcelain wares. Their carving and marbling processes are inspired by the randomness of structures in nature. Each colored vase is one of a kind.

We've been following their social media feeds for several years but have yet to pull the trigger on a purchase. I'm absolutely fascinated by this process.

@fellas in a French city Artists don’t always charge that much for a multitude of reasons, and even if they do, buying from them very occasionally isn’t so bad 🤷

@@graziacavasino8884 one day, maybe. I thought the same, then I found my niche. I no longer do it, due to it not being a popular niche anymore (It was jewelry for ravers) anyways, definitely I would just find the niche and stick with it. One day someone will love it ❤

Well that's probably the coolest thing I've seen this year!!!
I grew up doing ceramics my Mother taught us how to do this almost lost art when we were very young and now it is so, hard to find a good quality Ceramic Shop around anymore. I wish that New York State ( Upstate New York) would bring back these shops so that we can pass this down to the next generation.
Great! It's like a 3D version of the multi coloured scraper board. Love the texture achieved on the bigger pots with the thick clay scraped in and off to reach the colours. Makes me want to run my finger down the lines! Beautiful work.

Wow! These pieces are beautiful, and it's so satisfying to watch that tool glide through the material revealing the colors within! Also, I dig the music- has a The Cure vibe about it.

I wonder what they would think of the "Let's Make a Mug" anime that came out this season. There's a really interesting ceramic monument in the most recent episode. They probably know how it got the glaze that made it look so cool. I wonder if other countries besides Japan have pottery clubs. Where I am from we just had sports and agricultural clubs.

I used to do something similar to this but with play-doh clay. I'd cover an object in different layers of colours then scrape out pieces starting from the outside.

Little random fun fact
Using pigments in this fashion is very similar to how Wedgewood Jasperware is made! So this particular technique is very flexible in terms of what you can achieve with it. I highly recommend anyone with an interest in ceramics to try it out!

Wasnt expecting to be wowed by an artsy toilet bowl...er...bowl....but I'm really impressed. I seriously love the classic night time aesthetic with all those colors....DAMN! I'm building a reverb guitar pedal right now and I've been tossing around ideas for the enclosure art that would look cool and match the sound of the reverb (It's a very deep reverb with spacey self oscillations) and I think this video gave me some perfect inspiration! Thanks!
