I am wondering Why Tamil teachers don't teach proper pronunciations? I left India almost 40 yrs ago and it was not bad at all then. These days most of the emcees do not pronounce Tamil words properly and it really saddens me and I don't know what the solution is. " yarum zha, lla letters I sariyaga ucharikkirade illai" I am not talking about Thirumathi i Revathy Sankaran. Her pronunciation is absolutely beautiful.

Yes - thamizhukku “zha” azhagu… but all tamizh teachers are teaching “zha” as “la”. This is how they teach children also. Such kids win thirukural reciting contest and such competitions. Paavam tamizh Mozhi.

For preservation of traditional culture (a wholesome feeling) what she says here is correct. A woman has to take freedom with her dress ( I mean minimal dressing) only in front of her husband. Elsewhere she has to be conservative. The two circumstances have differing scenarios. Lest anyone misunderstand me let me hasten that the man also has to be totally faithful to his wife---especially not indulging in flirting with other women since the wife considers it verboten.
