Thanks for showing the 40 next to the 80. Really illustrates the size difference in the two machines. Was looking at getting either a 57 or the 80 and this helps ( already have a 40).
I'm glad you did the comparison, Jeramy. This really showed the appreciable size difference between the two machines. It would have been nice to park an 057 between them to see the size range, but.... I've got my time on the 057, and knowing it's limitations, I have to compliment you on what you've done with the 40. You're an excellent operator!!
Hi Jeremy I have been following you for some time now, I purchased a KX 35- 3 from a local council department with only 970 hrs it has been helpful watching your experience hands at work, I don't expect to ever have your degree of skill. Iam looking forward to seeing your 80 at work and hearing your comments. Please show loading and unloading the machines as this is an important part of any job. Kind Regards Stephen Ellis From New Plymouth New Zealand Down under!
Congratulations on your new machine. Thank you for the kind words. I will be working the 80 next week, I am very excited 😊 Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
You are the besstttt! Thank you for doing this! I've been trying to help my wife visualize the difference between the two as we make a decision but it's so hard to do without them right next to each other. This is perfect, sending it to her now too. :)
Hopefully the 80 doesn't have the same quick coupler issues the 40 does, I even had the new style solid steel bucket pin and still broke it (as you saw on facebook), to be fair my issue was grabbing a log at a 45 with the bucket and thumb while the log was laying under a tree, and pulling, not very hard either, just twisted and *POP* Broke the bucket pin, quick coupler, bent the H link and both "dogbone" links my dealer (RJV Equipment/Ditchwitch of Knoxville) had me bring it in that day, about 8 days later I picked it up again, got a loaner for free, and the repair was covered under warranty as a "we know its a problem" issue Kubota service seems pretty good, atleast my dealer has been! these 80's are way bigger in person, dwarfs the u35s and KX040's parked next to them on the lot!
Yes I saw that on FB. I hope you have better luck with your new one. I haven't broken one yet. But that doesn't mean I won't at some point. Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873 hopefully I learned my lesson on that one 🤣 they put the exact same coupler on, I think theres supposed to be an upgraded welded steel version to replace the cast one but I don't remember, they did tell me I can put an aftermarket one on BUT, they won't warranty it when it breaks
I would like to see the capability of the two machines when picking up big long logs, 2ft diameter and 34 plus ft length. It would be simulating stacking a log up a wall on a log cabin build. Can't seem to find any videos for that, and yes that is why I need that...building
When I come across something of that size, I will definitely test it out. I think the 80 would handle it. I have videos of the 40 loading and moving logs. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful evening 😀
Yes, the 40 is quite capable. Just thumb through my videos, I have many videos of removing stumps and pushing trees over. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
Jeremy, I have been looking into possibly expanding my business with a mini-excavator around 3.5 ton size. I have not been able to justify the cost based on what jobs I think it would do. Since you have jobs to do, would you give some jobs that could be done with a small excavator. I have thought of culverts, stump removal, small trees and brush, and small demo. I live in the south with no snow. Any thoughts? Thanks
Just start watching my videos. It is amazing what kind of jobs that you can accomplish with a 3.5 or 40. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful day 😀
No, not even close. The 80 pins are much bigger than 40. It is always nice when things interchange, but there is way too much size difference between the two. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful weekend.
@tangoseal1 The 57 is a good machine. I needed the extra size of the 80. Having the 80 and 40 works very well for me. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful evening 🙂
Next week. We are going to take more of the hilltop down on my hilltop job. I am excited to finally get to use it. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀

Thanks, Jeramy for showing the comparison. It's really helpful. Now could you do a video on how to stop husbands from buying equipment? lol
You are very welcome.
@mmoller512 I think it is hopeless. It seems that is what guys do 😆

Truer words were never spoken about our Oregon snow. I’m sure up in the higher elevations it stays powdery ! But not in the valleys 😂
@howardpearson5259 Yes, my friend, our valley snow sucks.

This is an old video of the 40 lifting 32ft logs over a fence.
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873I saw that video, good but not big enough, I''ll check out the other one. Thanks for responding!
We picked up a 57 almost got the 80 it’s a good machine
I am excited about the 80. I worked around my friends 80 for years. They are good machines.
The kx080-4 just went down 30k locally to the exact same price as the 057... too good of a deal to pass up
No doubt that step up from a 40 to 80 is big. Hope the snow melts soon. Then a dry spell to get the mud gone.
Yes I am ready for the snow to be gone. I actually have a job next week that I will be using the 80. I am excited 😊
New to the channel. Can you take down trees or dig decent size roots with the smaller one? Maybe you have a video of it.

That is what I am looking at also.
Good comparison video😁
Thank you 🙂
Nice machines why do you run steel tracks
Thank you. They get better traction, better flotation, better stability, and they last much longer. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful day 😀
Will the 40 buckets fit the 80?

Interesting
😁
80 is 65k more in price .. im more interested in 57 v 80
