I am genuinely curious what is the price of digging trenches in USA example per 3.28foot I am from Balkan here it's 1.4 $ per 3.28 foot long 2.6 foot deep.
@Nightmare_-ix7dk I generally just charge by the hour, and I really don't know what people are charge by distance. Thank you very much for watching, and have a wonderful day 😀
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873 Oh alright thanks , turnsout more profitable per distance than hour in my line of work generally digging trenches is the tougher task for excavators instead of regular backyard work. In 8h I dig 400meters = 550$ if I charge that per hour it's like 270$. Anyway enjoy watching you work especially when you put gravel on roads.. extra satisfying.
Awesome Job!!
You are so right to use the equipment that works best for you. When you get a medical procedure you have the doctor do what he's best at, not what most doctors are best at. On the fresh dirt I like 2" minus to start with. It doesn't spread as easy but this locks up and caps it better and seems to last longer. My friend disagrees. He likes 5/8 minus.
@brotherbruce I agree with you using the bigger rock. I normally would have used the bigger rock on this one, but the grade would have gotten too high for drainage. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful day 😀
Thanks for the great work Jeramy. You continue to make the place look better and we're getting closer to actually building something. Your mic is working well - you can hear everything.
@johnoswald6192 Thank you, my friend 🧡
Beautiful work Jeramy. Because you wear a CAT cap, I'm going to start wearing a Stihl cap 🤣🤣🤣 Well I guess you do own a CAT. One of these days I'll buy a Stihl.
@johnoswald6192 Yes, I thought about that when I put it up. You see, I don't want to get my Kubota hats dirty, I don't mind getting a CAT hat dirty 😜
@@jeramyreberpuredirt7873 🤣
Beautiful work as always, nice job. 👍🏻 Robco has had beautiful rock in the past although it seems to be green now instead of that beautiful blue. Because of the location, I get mine from CPI because it’s so much closer for me to haul and it packs pretty good. Hope you have a good day, don’t work too hard.
@addictedtobedrock5282 Yes, Robco has definitely gotten out of their good vein of rock and turns to mud. I like CPI's rock it's just a little far for my area to be cost effective. I like Knife River rock from Gold Hill. I just don't like their politics. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving
Looks great as always , feathering the angles on your blade and height is the key to your professional work great video
@Prodriver790 Thank you very much. Have a wonderful day 😀
It is almost 4:00am and why am I watching this video? Probably because they are awesome, and I would love to have that machine.
@bluetimes1 I am sorry that you have to be up at 4:00 but I appreciate you watching. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for watching 🙂
That cleaned up nice even with all that mud. Nice job. Thanks for the video.
@@RichBenson-jx8pt Thank you, 😊
You don't have the 6 way blade do you? Gimmick or worth it? I'll be pushing in roads so I think it might be helpful.
@Adam-xc4wk Yes, I have the 6 way. To me, it's worth every penny. It is very helpful for doing road work. Have a wonderful evening, and thanks for watching 🙂
Fwiw my kx040 w the 6way really makes fine tuning a road or drainage project efficient, top and tilt on my tractor also worth the investment.
@particularlybad having that on a tractor would be very handy.
Oh that looks like fun!!!!! I'm glad ya still stayin busy. Cleanin the woods like ya are is always a enjoyable day. Stay safe
@mikejackson5125 Thank you. Yes, I definitely enjoy this type of work. We always try to be safe 🙂 have a wonderful evening 🙂
Its amazing how much manual labor that machine can save, especially when you run it. Hoping your parents are doing well. That's enough slipping and sliding for me. Thanks for the video.
@RichBenson-jx8pt my parents are doing well. Thank you for thinking of them. Yes, the machine saves so much handwork. Hope you are well and have a wonderful evening 🙂
I have a fondness for Madrone and always try to save them whenever possible. They are very slow growing. I never hesitate to take out cottonwood, willow, hawthorn, cherry, or birch if they are in the way. Those 5 species are good for corduroy roads to keep from sinking the machine. Being from the Pacific Northwest I also like to save the softwoods. You didn't slide off into the fire so it was a good day.
@brotherbruce not sliding off into the fire definitely made it a good day. I always try to take the minimum of trees out. have a wonderful evening 🙂
It looks like we have a break in the rain finally. Thanks for doing what you do and have a good Thanksgiving with your family.
@addictedtobedrock5282 Yes, it does look like we are supposed to get a break. I am hoping it will dry a little so I can get a couple of jobs done that it's a little too wet to do right now. You have a wonderful Thanksgiving also. I think I will work tomorrow and take the rest of the week off.
Nice job again Jeremy. Love how well you grade. Using your techniques to better my grading. Thanks for the video brother.
@@RichBenson-jx8pt Thank you, I appreciate you being part of my channel. Have a wonderful evening 🙂
Nice job Jeremy. Im playing catch up on your videos. Another hunting trip in Maine. Thanks for the video.
@@RichBenson-jx8pt hope you had a fun trip. I have always wanted to see Maine. It looks like a beautiful state. Have a wonderful Sunday 😊
It's definitely beautiful country, we call it God's country. We got 2 moose but no deer this trip.
@@RichBenson-jx8pt very cool
Pretty dumb to burn wood when it can be composted in a corner of a property
@honumoorea873 not with the extreme fire danger we have in our area. Any mass of dry fuel needs to be removed. Plus, almost all of these trees were bug kill. Burning kills the bugs before moving on to kill more trees. Plus, piling this stuff creates habitat for rats' ground squirrels, which is problematic. And the top reason is the county won't issue a building permit without a fire safety inspection, which wouldn't pass with a mountain of slash piled up. So, no, it's not stupid.
How much do you think the bigger logs you moved weighed? I am wanting to build a retaining wall using geo blocks that are 14" x 30" x 60", the supplier says they weigh about 1800 lbs. The info in the manual for my kx-40 looks like it can handle that weight but I am worried that it is not enough machine to handle unloading and placing the blocks. It's a fairly level site. Would you feel ok using the 40 to move those blocks around?
@@davidbennett7190 the 40 will handle 1800# over the side it can get a little tippy. How high do you need to lift?
Are the blocks concrete?
I only have to lift high enough to get them off a deck over trailer, only stacking them 2 high. They are concrete blocks.
@davidbennett7190 being they are concrete, I really think they would weigh more than 1800#. I am not sure it will lift them that high.
I'm going to shop for some smaller blocks, also look around for a supplier that can deliver and set them where they go. Thanks for the input.
I love your show. You inspired me to buy a Kubota U48-4 for my new hobby farm in Australia. I learned so much from you. Thanks 🤩 💪🏼
@sankh0 that's awesome. Congratulations on the new machine, and thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful weekend 😀
Always a fun time cleaning up in the mud. Looking good!
@NKLandscapingLLC Yes. I got my ruts covered up better than I thought I would, and it definitely looks better than it did before. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful weekend
You working with the 40 is always my favorite to watch. Your commentary seems like it would be beneficial to excavator operators and owners.
@AnimationCPU-y2k24 Thank you very much. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
this old... what i do with my backhoe is compact layers when backfilling by pounding the bucket into ground otherwise after a few rain storms, it will turn into a muddy pit then later settling into low spot... alos often best to get some dirt from elsewhere because the area has less volume after removing a big stump. just makes the most send to honestly grind it instead...cheaper and clearer end result.
@nickeckemoff7631 The ground was already getting a little too wet to work at the start of the day. By the end, we had to stop. I normally track compact stump holes back in. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
Thanks for the info about the thumb. You do such good clean work, even covering up your tracks/ruts when you are leaving. That hill side looks so much better now, what a difference!
@@craigvanhousen559 Thank you very much. Have a wonderful weekend 😀

For a better fire... loosen a fitting and spray oil under pressure... ask me how I know...🤣...
@@DavidVanHelden1 that would definitely do it 🤣 have a wonderful weekend 😀
That aint much of a leaf blower
@X13BRAVO22 it's battery powered, so it's just your kind 🤪
Watching you work in this weather is making me feel a little guilty. One of my “forever” jobs would become an absolute mud pit if I was in there right now so I’ve left it alone this week. Good luck tomorrow, bet that hill your going walk up will be good and slick.
@addictedtobedrock5282 yep, I am still sitting on the hillside watching the fire burn down. It is definitely slick. But at least it isn't raining right now. Have a wonderful weekend 😀
Cleaning up that big slash pile sure made a difference. Good job!
@craigvanhousen559 it definitely made the place look better. Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend 😀
Thank you Jeramy. What a huge difference this day made. Piles and piles sitting for a year, the place looks clean, park like. This is also why I would love to have an excavator, and why I probably shouldn't have one. It makes quick work if you know how to navigate steep hills and stump bogs. I'm afraid I'd be asking you to come over and tip mine back up about once a week.
@@johnoswald6192 it did make a big difference. Wait until you see it in the morning.
I really enjoy you doing work in the 40. You did a nice job cleaning up on a rainy day.
@AnimationCPU-y2k24 Thank you very much. Thanks for watching, and have a wonderful evening 🙂
Most Blue States have a fairly long building permit process. Not sure of the reason.
@brotherbruce yep. I think it's a control thing. Have a wonderful evening, and thank you for watching 🙂
What a great day. Sitting in that warm cab and feeding the fire. Great job, really cleaned the place up.
@craigvanhousen559 just a relaxing day. Love this stuff. Have a wonderful evening 🙂
Love that stuff! 👍🏻
@@addictedtobedrock5282 I definitely enjoy this type of work. But it's definitely getting a little on the muddy side. Winter definitely hit, didn't it. Have a wonderful evening 🙂
I ended my 38 year flying career as a 7 year Air Force instructor pilot and 31 year major airline pilot and I just can't sit still so I bought a couple of small excavators and enjoyed them so much I bought a new 8500 lbs excavator. My two smaller ones are leaving today for a new home but I have been watching your videos and learning a lot of good techniques. I do need to get paying jobs to help me make the monthly payment but I'm not looking to go into excavating full time. I really enjoy your videos and am quite impressed with your ability to operate your machines smoothly and confidently. Keep the great content coming !

Great job in the rain. I know how you feel about cleaning out ditches, especially in the rain. Something about that.
@@craigvanhousen559 yep, and today I we get to try and make slash burn in heavy rain. Have a wonderful day 😀
Yeah know I’ve never seen anyone put the Ramps down with the machine, but I’ll tell you this if I owned one that is damn sure what I would do.😂
@MattMorris481 Those ramps are so heavy, my broke body just can't muster putting them down by hand anymore. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful evening 🙂
I know exactly what you’re saying, have lost sleep over things like that. Think that’s one of the differences between a good business and a bad one. Nice work as always. 👍🏻
@addictedtobedrock5282 Thank you. Have a wonderful evening, and thank you for watching 🙂
Top work. 🤩👍 I'm not ready for the winter either. I still have so much work that I would have to do before that.
@WilliWimmer-n6e thank you. Have a wonderful evening, and try not to let winter get you down too much 😄
The Bridge on the River Kwai 😂I do remember that. I'm surprised you do - you're just a pup compared to me. I'm glad you're able to keep getting jobs done in the rain. We're in for a lot more.
I have actually seen the movie several times.

I have a wide grading bucket like that for my mini. Picking up stumps with it damaged the dog bone and pin. The hydraulic shop guy said it is always important to use the right bucket and not pick up lopsided loads with the grading bucket. Too much leverage on one side 24" out from the pin. My comment on your project is that guy is asking for body damage on his vehicles by putting in a rock wall there, unless he is abandoning that driveway. You did good work for them. That wire could have happened to anyone.
@brotherbruce yes, you can do a lot of damage to things with a wide bucket. You have to be very careful how hard you pull on things with them. The road is just a little tractor road. The wire turned out to be abandoned. Thank you for watching, and have a wonderful day 😀
Nice work as usual! Definitely agree with the comment about waking up in the morning and enjoying what you do. Curious how many hours you have on your 40 and 80 now??

Would you rather work with sloppy wet dirt or frozen clods of dirt?
@brotherbruce that's a tough call. With the frozen, you don't sink everywhere you go, but you can't grade the stuff. Mud, you sink, and everything is sticky, but you can make it smooth. I think I would still prefer Mud. Have a wonderful evening 🙂
