Outstanding video. I was a lefty pitcher and now find myself coaching first base for a team with zero lefty pitchers. It's been difficult for the players to understand the different ways that a lefty can pick off. As a lefty pitcher, I find myself telling runners what to look for, but it isn't sinking in. Now that I see your video, I realize that it is probably better suited to show them this and teach them how a lefty picks off so that they know what to look for. Putting them on the mound and having them feel those transitions and make those steps ought to give them a better feel for the motions so that they can recognize it when they're on first base.
Thanks for the comment - I think it's good to give kids regular chances to practice this - catcher, pitcher, first baseman and pitcher and someone at second base, with everyone else getting a chance to be a baserunner. It's hard to us to expect them to get good reads and improve at stealing in games, when the pressure is on. It helps everyone working on this, if even just for 20 minutes every other week
I'm from Bangladesh. I love baseball. But the problem is it's not popular here. They don't play baseball. But I really wanna be a baseball player from Bangladesh.🇧🇩❤🇺🇸🇯🇵⚾
