You have 2 beautiful homes and good transportation, debt free, but your greatest asset is the love, respect and joy that you share together. Many long years together. Love your channel, safe trip to VA and God bless.
You have demonstrated thoroughly that you are living simple. Steps! It takes many steps to get there. Nothing you have done says extravagant. I envy your skills Bill. That saves you a bunch. Thank You for showing it is all possible.
My husband and I became debt free years ago, it is true freedom, especially now I am in my 70's and he is gone. I find you both an inspiration. Blessings!
Hubby and I had the same hard reset as you guys (and many others across this nation) we were blessed to find a half finished house on 17 acres at the end of a dirt road that the owner sold to us on contract. We lived in our camper for 4 years and finished out the house paycheck by paycheck. Doing most of the work ourselves. 10 years later it’s paid off along with every other debt we had and we are living the simple life on our own homestead of sorts. We are opposite of you two. Where you love to travel, we love the peace and quiet of home. Although it might get a little too quiet soon since son, daughter in law and grand babies that used to live down the lane moved away recently. We’re thinking traveling will re-enter our lives soon 😜
Just wanted to let Bill know he helped us tremendously on our budget in the past. Yearly car tags and our every three month termite treatments always threw us off our budget and now I add them out of each paycheck and have that money saved for when the time comes.
We bought a nice Class C back in 2017 and have been retired full time Nomads since. No debt, decent pensions, frugal ways and freedom. We recently removed the weathered decals off of our rig and love the sleek plain white look. Reminds me of your box truck build 😊Nice
I appreciate you teaching people to be debt-free because in this society so many people are so far in debt by the grace of God I am debt-free I have retired at 68 enjoy my life but you have worked all of your life like me and several others and I enjoy your channel have a blessed day
Your advice and philosophy has certainly helped so many people. Unfortunately after my husband passed away I had to move into an apartment so am burdened every month with rent payments. However, I cut back on other things that are not necessary like 30 pairs of shoes, clothes in boxes I never wear and using credit cards except in an emergency. Living BELOW your means and not trying to keep up with the Joneses is absolutely necessary to survive. You're an inspiration to us and we thank you for all you do! ❤
Agee with you both…below your means!!! Do YOUR simple for you and your health….Im in our Ocala home,,,,and we are “simple” here…below our means. You learn to save for the simple things in life. Glad to see she is breathing better. God bless you both
My husband and I have been practicing this lifestyle since we were married in 1980. The freedom you have in retirement is life-changing. May God Bless you both.
My wife and I live in South Florida and we watch your channel together. There is such a peace of God on your channel. We love your ideas and that yall. Are bold about your faith
Thanks for the reminder to get rid of what you aren’t using! We have no debt and I love to hear you reinforce the philosophy… live simple live free! Oh the worry that is gone with out mortgage or car payments! I retired medically in my 50’s due to a car accident not my fault . We were so glad to have paid sour mortgage off and buy cars out right that were needed! I love that we can support others who need help because we don’t have worries about making money to live! Thank you Lord for your grace and blessings please help those who are seeking to be financially free listen to Bills and Elizabeth’s video s that help them to get free!😊❤
I can hardly wait to be debt free, able to visit family all over the world, travel wherever we want, not worry about if we have enough for our needs, etc... you are an inspiration. I keep showing your videos to my husband who is finally clued in to the advantages of debt free living. Thank you for your example!
I admire my daughter and husband who have only one car. Their work commute is to the same location which helps 😂. Their kids also go to school and daycare there as well. But maintaining and insuring two vehicles is expensive. I’ve watched your channel for a few years now, so I understand your “whys” pretty well.

I would like to watch a video that emphazises more on how you do that. Your class helped me fine tune my budget. Now I am at a point that I need to buy a car for work, travel and for driving my soon to be Great Grandson around. I am going to wait 3 more months so that I can save as much as possible for the purchase. Thank you for this video!!!! I was being pushed by Family to do it now. Why, because the car is 24 years old. 😅😅😅
learning a lot on how to have fun watching you guys, never learned that always caring for someone or doing at 78 now just want to live free and enjoy life thank you
Several points: 1. Another thing about paring down is that it gives us more time to do what is most important to us - less maintenance time spent on the unessential. 2. You are both great role models for thinking practical issues through by looking at all the angles and doing whatever due diligence research is both needed and smart. 3. You are definitely using your porch resource to capacity! 😀
I encourage you to take advantage of free grocery delivery if it’s available in your area. Kroger often has free delivery on the weekend days. If not, it’s only $6.95. I love it and it saves a trip into the public. Safer for Elizabeth’s health.
😮Makes sense. I am debt free with a small house on 5 acres in the mountains. It is now a native edible food forest. This is a simple life for me, and I grow most of my food. last summer I had FOUR heat waves and planted no European vegetables. I had a huge abundance of native edibles with zero work. In March I planted 4 native plum seedlings. Yum. I added a Korean hibachi and small wok for cooking outdoors on hot days. At 7000 elevation, nights are always cool. Thrive meat is precut for stirfry. Your circumstances are not mine. However, I also live below my means with joy..
I totally agree with everything that you both are saying. It's possible to live debt free, but a person has to be willing to live simple. My husband and I are debt free. We bought a piece of property in the country with a 1,000 square foot house on it. We remodeled it, sold my larger home in town to purchase a barndominium. My husband has done all the work on it. We should be able to move in it very soon. We will either Airbnb or rent the small house which I call a cottage. Hopefully it will be an additional supplemental income. Blessings from Colorado!❤
I love your philosophy, it's been very inspiring! I think the box truck is a great idea, and Bill is so good at remodeling and you at decorating, you'll have a beautiful little gem in the truck.
I really appreciate your transparency with your lives you share. Your a great example that you can live simple, free, and on a budget. I enjoy your videos.❤
One thing that helps you is, you have the skill to work on and sell a flip house, plus add to your home and do whatever needs done to your Florida, most of us just cannot do that, no skill, my husband and I decided years ago to get out of debt, it wasn’t easy, but so worth the uncomfortable times! Live as debt free as much as possible!
It's been two years since you guys flipped that house. Time sure does fly. You guys are so logical. We tend to live simple. Don't have any bills beyond electric, gas, phone, internet, and car insurance. I do wish so many more understood the relief it gives to not have a bunch of debt. Glad you guys do what you do on that subject.
This was such a good conversation. It is good for all of us to take inventory of what we have and what we need as things change in our lives. Thank you.😊
I'm 65, hubster 71. I had an '18 Santa Fe for 5 years. MY car...I ❤ it!! But hardly drive it. Put 2500 miles a year on it....I went from part time to casual...1 day a week. Hubster has an '18 pick up. He doesn't drive my car. We always go in his truck places. Sooooo.....i sold my car😢... paid off his truck with thousands leftover. Now i have to drive the truck if i go somewhere 😢 Hate it but I'll get used to it. So one vehicle is such a great feeling! And he suggested selling the truck and getting a midsize car 😊👏 We sold our trailer years ago, so we don't need a truck. Live simple debt free!!❤
CONGRATS!!! You have always been on your personal life road, developing in good and bad times together and letting people know and see it... the development... and the changes which are part of your continuous development on your personal life road, which is sooo rich and beautiful... financially, psychologically, spiritually... a blessed life by the spirit of wisdom and love... Jesus Christ! Bill and Elizabeth THANK YOU...
It doesn’t seem to me that y’all are justifying anything. I enjoy how you explain your decisions and how those decisions have allowed you to enjoy a debt free life. I love your practical and realistic approach to life. I agree with Elizabeth that if something gives you great joy, keep it. We do need some of those things that bring us joy. My husband and I also enjoy a debt free life. The peace of mind is indescribable! We receive joy in giving to others, praise God each time a large expense comes up (new roof, new HVAC system, new tires, large expense of any kind). We know full well that God gave us the discipline to be obedient and He has blessed us greatly. I love your channel. You’re both so very sincere❤️
Great decision buying that box truck and selling some of the things you no longer need. It does help make your life simpler. I've been debt free since retirement and came to realize that the more I owned the more I had to take care of. So, like you, I am not a minimalist but only own as much as I'm willing and able to take care of. I look forward to watching your progress on your box truck. Thanks for sharing all of your good ideas and God bless the two of you.
I always appreciate your common sense approach to life and finances. I made a plan for myself to get out of debt and stay out of debt about 6 years ago. I asked myself what I needed and what I wanted. I realized that what I really wanted was a simple life and to own everything I will need vs. going into debt in order to get it. The stress that lifted....wow. there's no feeling like living debt free and only getting something when I have the money for it. I think you two inspire a lot of people 😊 Best, Lauren
TBH...your genius points of living free and simple completely go over some ppls heads! Shocking how SOME love to throw negativity to others that love to give out positivity!
Bill and Elizabeth , It is so good to see you both ! It is smart how you are scaling back with your autos ! People will try to tell you how to live ! How are they doing ? I have watched you for a long time and you are doing great ! God has blessed you so very much !
I think you are both very smart people! Getting rid of “stuff” and to bless others is a very good thing. We just sold our fifth wheel that we were not using to bless someone else that will enjoy it. We are talking of downsizing and selling other things that we are not using. God bless you.
Thanks Bill and Elizabeth, you are just an inspiration to so many people. We are also debt free and the freedom is just that if is FREEDOM nothing like it! Have a blessed day my friends❤❤
So admire you're being so skilled at doing your own maintenance- you are skilled and a great time. You're debt free living knowledge you share is appreciated. I live alone, not handy and have trouble finding those that are skilled labor. I find either they are not honest in describing their skill set or charge an arm and a leg...nofun when needing something done. Keep living simple and free, as well as sharing your accomplishments. It's so encouraging!! ❤🙏🏼
You two are just a breath of fresh air. So kind of you to share your journey, even when criticism comes your way. The nice thing about life is we all can make our choices, and no one can blame others for the consequences of their own. So when others criticize, it’s most likely they are unhappy which their own consequences of their personal choices. Living simple and living free can be available for everyone. Excuses are really just undisciplined will. Keep up the great example!! ❤
Love your simple life. We currently have 2 cars and have considered pairing down to 1. He works from home, so if I needed the car it is here. We were able to pay cash for a 2022 Modular Home and Love it. We are in Florida.
Being debt free and stay that way is wonderful. I spent my life in debt and paying for a home as a single mom. I made a plan several years ahead of retirement and got to retire debt free with home paid in full. I don’t have new furniture and fancy things and I drive an older vehicle well taken care of and paid for. If I can’t pay in full I don’t buy. Freedom!
Thank you for the update. Things don't matter at the end of our lives...people do and our life experiences/memories. I continue to work on removing things from my life❤
Love your videos Bill and Elizabeth. Even though it's none of our business as to what you do and why, we are very appreciative, and we thank you for sharing your rationale as to why you do what you do. It's very helpful as we think ahead and move forward. God bless you.
Sooooo thankfully u 2 do not have to crouch around unable to stand in the van.. Bill that would have been hard for you.. can't wait to c the box truck if it's anything like the Florida home redo WOW Godspeed Maranatha greetings from NC and just one more mile
Good thinking, guys! I agree, having a bunch of unnecessary vehicles around just adds to the cost of living. But I'm glad that you made sure first that Elizabeth could drive the box truck and be able to park it! 😊
You are two smart cookies. So many couples young and older argue over finances issues than most things. Being debt free will certainly eliminate that and give you the option for spending more quality time together.❤ You’re both too young to be so smart.
Makes sense to me. I have always lived this way, but just called it life. lol I have seen you from the beginning, and I am just sorry that you, and many many other people across the world went through such a hard time from the fallout of 2008. Stress like that can kill people, and certainly make them ill. I am proud of the survivors who pulled themselves up and started all over again.
I would LOVE to find an early 2000’s southern cavalier again. Had a 2003 for several years before I bought my brand spanking new jeep in 2017. I gave the Cavi to my son and he drove it (hard) for another 3 years. I miss that old car. And with you building out your own RV, you know that the quality of the build will be better than any factory build.
You are saving on insurance, maintenance, and gas on selling the other vehicles. It all balances out. I always look at things as is this a want or a need. When you grow up poor and told money doesn’t grow on trees, it stays with you. God bless you both. 🙏✝️
Our newest vehicle is my 06. The other two are 01 and 02. It is so nice not having car payments. So far John can do most of the maintenance. Bill, I finally got that rotational shelving unit put back together!!
We bacame debt free in 2014 when we sold our big house and moved to our retirement property. Seriously if we weren't debt free we couldn't afford to live on SS only. We built our retirement home ourselves for $20,000 in materials in 2014. I dont buy anything unless i can afford it at the time. Its great being debt free!
Hey less is more!! Hey I’m glad that Elizabeth is much better living in FL. Because of seeing how you’ve lived from the first videos I have learned so much. Thank you!! I’m just about out of debt. Yay!
I'm 67 and wife is 65. Both retired and are fortunate to now owe anything. Home and 2 cars paid for. Both on good SS payments and also IRA retirement drawdowns. We are blessed. Gonna find a box truck and do the same. But Florida properties seem to be going too expensive with taxes and mandatory insurance. Hoping things change. Glad you too got it going.
There's no mandatory insurance required on mortgage-free homes in FL, unless it's a condo, and then the insurance would be required for the outershell community-owned areas only.
I can see why you, Bill and Elizabeth, feel you need to explain your lifestyle, because of the comments you get, but if anyone has watched your channel for any length of time, they would see that though you have two homes, they are not extraordinary estates. They are homes you worked and planned for, and did lots of DIY on. You had one little 2002 car, that had been paid for long ago. I’ve gone back to your Tiny House Prepper videos, and have seen the videos of how you bought a broken down camper (I think it was), fixed it up and lived in it for quite a while. You both live the lifestyle you talk about..probably one of the least pretentious couples I’ve seen. My husband and I did not plan many years ago as we should have, so now as a recent widow, I don’t have the ‘luxury’ or comfort of living a debt free lifestyle. So I’m in awe of how you two did all of this. And whatever you make from your UA-cam channel is very well earned! God bless you both.
U-Haul looks more aerodynamically better than a camper van probably drives better too being debt free is wonderful. To be able to have money to pay for stuff that needs to be done around the house is a fantastic feeling
Greetings dear Elizabeth and Bill, I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your ministry to help folks live without debt. I am not going to lie, it does “ruffle my feathers” a bit when some people make rude comments because if there is anything that you don’t do, it’s brag! I am aka as Denise from California, a fan of TL, I have never found a better “freeze dried” food. Thank you for your assistance when I was a bit confused about navigating the website! Everything that you try to teach the folks who visit your channel is good, solid instruction and people should be very grateful that you dear ones are providing wisdom that is contrary to the “world system”!
Thanks for all the advice on Living Simple, Living Free. I am wanting to purchase a small house with a yard and a small vehicle. Lived in apartments my whole life. I use public transportation but definitely need a vehicle for out of town appts. I will watch your class videos. I love your front porch! I am glad you have pared down. You guys look like your having fun on the motorcycle!🙏🧁🎈✝️💟🐈 Be safe, many blessings. I am so happy Elizabeth is breathing much easier.🙏🎈✝️💟💖🌅🎊
So cool that you both make such wise decisions. Enjoy your life and don’t let others make you feel like you are not living simple and free. Have a great drive back to Virginia.
We are downsizing too, my husband just retired in December and we have too many trucks, motorcycle a Tahoe and a Jetta and ford fusion So the motorcycle is going, it’s too scary around here to ride it, we drove the Harley for years but no more. And we are selling a few more things , I agree we don’t need to spend that much money on insurance anymore!💜❤️
The more “stuff” I get rid of, the better I feel. Spy over 10k for storage for 5 years. Then I got 2 buildings, over 10k (that was before C, they are more now), to store stuff I don’t want anymore. I’ve given away and given away. Down to the good antiques - but nobody has wanted them in over 10 years and still don’t want them. Nobody wants brown furniture and they will tell you that. It will never come back in my lifetime. Rediculous! Spent the first half of my life accumulating and the second 1/2 or however much left, purging.
I have an '02 Cavalier, and have really been grateful for it. It has taken me across the country, into the Sierras and through the deserts of the southwest. I camped in Arizona and went to the meteor crater and to Sedona and back to the south. It is and will always be one of the best cars I have ever owned.
A year and a half ago, I (Bill) drove the Cavalier from Virginia to Utah and back for a Thrive Life event. 4,000 miles and up over the Rockies. It made the trip flawlessly!
I get it and appreciate all the information you share with us and so thankful, thank you for sharing everything it really has helped me and your smiles and joyful experiences has brought me quite a bit of happiness.....Elizabeth you are looking like you feel so much better, I love seeing you on the motorcycle, you two are so so cute, best wishes always and I would miss you guys if you decided to stop, you two are so special, love ya, God Bless.
I sold the camper so there for no longer needed the big truck. Now have a mid size SUV and a small van. Only thing I still owe is the house. So I’m getting there. You guys are living simple and free We as a country are to willing to go into debt for things. I try to only purchase what I can pay for
You have 2 beautiful homes and good transportation, debt free, but your greatest asset is the love, respect and joy that you share together. Many long years together. Love your channel, safe trip to VA and God bless.
I got debt free when I retired 7 years ago. I am now 83 years old. I hope you both have a blessed week and 2024 and stay safe.
Are you sure you’re 43? Maybe you meant 73 or 83?
My guess is 63

Grocery shopping via bike/trike is also awesome. Love Elizabeth’s tricycle. My husband is disabled and has a trike too.
Another great video! Miss you guys! Watching night before my surgery! ❤
~Lisa Z.
Florida looks good on you both.
Sending love and hugs! ❤️
We’re praying!
Good Morning Bill & Elizabeth, wishing you a wonderful day.Your flowers on the porch are beautiful.❤️
Love the video on the bike at the end! You guys rock
Freedom!
Good job! 😊
You are a blessing by sharing how to live debt free. God Bless You! You are a beautiful, godly couple.
Thank you for the update. Things don't matter at the end of our lives...people do and our life experiences/memories. I continue to work on removing things from my life❤
God is so good! Yall are so precious together!
I agree with what you're saying. I, too, am debt free because of wise choices. It is freedom.
Good for you guy's..Got to enjoy life with less expense. I am glad for you both.🌴💞🐞🌸🙏
Good thinking, guys!
"Too young to be so smart." HA!
Have a wonderful day ❤
I would LOVE to find an early 2000’s southern cavalier again.
oh please please do an update on your e trike bike-and your hot tub- considering both!!!
Our newest vehicle is my 06. The other two are 01 and 02. It is so nice not having car payments. So far John can do most of the maintenance. Bill, I finally got that rotational shelving unit put back together!!
Glad to hear it. 😀
Thank you for the encouragement!
@@LiveSimpleLiveFreemy pleasure, pilgrims‼️
Elizabeth you're looking very healthy! The warm weather must be agreeing with you.
Hi. Love watching you guys. You have so much fun. Blessings to you both.
I enjoy you two 😊
Both of you are a fountain of information n I enjoy ♥️.. tons of love from Boston ♥️...
Great seeing you both doing well 💕
So cool that you both make such wise decisions.
Loved seeing Elizabeth on the motorcycle.
Much Love Bill&Elizabeth🩷🙏
I love riding bikes. I wish I was still able, but I’m not. Had to sell mine. Happy travels!
@@LiveSimpleLiveFreeThat makes me want o hit the road again, Bill. The last trip I took I made it 1800 miles to my Mom's in Kansas City on $180!
Oh Elizabeth you are so clever. I can drive a small car but could not do what you do. Well done.
❤️😊
I sold the camper so there for no longer needed the big truck. Now have a mid size SUV and a small van. Only thing I still owe is the house. So I’m getting there. You guys are living simple and free We as a country are to willing to go into debt for things. I try to only purchase what I can pay for
Peace of Mind is very under-rated
😂I have a 22 foot class c and I'm handicap and I've parked it in some spots you wouldn't believe. It's wonderful.
The overall length of our truck is 24 feet. That's the limit for a standard parking spot!
That is a perfect vehicle for you now. And really not using as much gas as you would with a second vehicle plus insurance and maintenance on two.
Yup!
