Mike I agree with you on the free thing. Last summer I had 10 nice wood pallets that I had no use for. I stacked them out by the road and put a big sign on them that said "Free". They set out there for two days. I then told my wife I was going to go get the tractor and grab this pallets and just keep them. She said let me try something first, I said ok. She went out and took off the free sign and put a sign that said $3.00 each. She put a little wood box next to them that said place money inside. We ran to town and came back in two hours and everything was gone. They stole the pallets and the little wood box. Lol.. didn't want it when it was free but was willing to steal it when I put a price on it. Crazy world we live in for sure.
@@lonewolfFirearms That's too funny but I can imagine it happening. We have a dumpster service locally that is based on the honor system with a donation box attached to the dumpster. I wonder if it is working. The dumpsters are always full. Time will tell.

Good Morning Morgan's. It is amazing that you have been able to grow your business to the point that you can provide a source of income for your adult children. I believe that it is every parents goal to have their children be more successful than they are. You are a great example of this. Wishing you continued success.
Morning Mike! Good video; glad to see some rain out your way! Free vs a price is so true; people are just hard to understand! Keep up the good work & congrats on the new employees!
To each his own, Mike I use fire wood to heat my house and work shop. So I use every piece of wood, doesn’t matter what the size, or what it looks like it use it all including the slabs , branches it all makes heat. We have family and friend come over and we gather around the fire pit area and socialize. There’s just something soothing about standing and sitting around a nice fire. 😅
You are so RIGHT about Free vs. A Fee. So many people these days breeze right over something that is free, thinking it has no value. But if you put a price on it, they want to buy it right away. Very funny state of the world we live in. Keep up the great videos.
Hi Morgan's! Beautiful family!! You should be proud. Adler and sons must be pretty big. I see they harvested your logs with circle saw harvester. No chainsaws for your logs! My logs come with the same marks on them.

Interesting video. After We installed Our Aqua herm 345 outside wood boiler. With a 12'-14'pile of green hemlock slabs that sat over the winter. We just filled our new 20'x40' inground pool with 50degree water. I cut the green hemlock slabs into 4' lengths. backed the dump trailer up to the boiler and filled the 54" firebox full ad kept it full all day. It raise the water temp up into the upper 80s. an outside boiler plumbed into your renitent floor would keep that building comfortable for your new employees. Congratulations Hanna on your new venture!
If you ever want to know what the weather is in the country go by the coffee shop. Lol! Rainy days really a blessing to catch up on PMC’s preventing maintenance services, etc. etc. Thank you as always congratulations on your employees
I hear you on burning the slabs and junk wood. I hauled out about 60 nice cedar logs from deadstanding trees to give away. Only 2 people were interested, and said they'd come pick them up in a few days. That was 2 years ago. I bought a chainsaw mill, milled them into 4" ties and built a couple of dugout blinds.
Mike, I have a little story that happened probably 30 years ago. It's how 2 guys settled something at an intersection on a main road. There weretwo left hand turn lanes and I was the second car back in the right lane. In the left lane there was a truck and I don't know what the guy that pulled up behind the first truck was doing but he ran right into the first truck. Not real hard but he moved the first truck forward. The guy in the first truck just looked in the rear view mirror and the guy in the second truck just held up his arms looking bewildered. So instead of them getting out and going through all of the pleasantries the guy in the first truck put his truck in reverse and backed into the second truck. He pulled back up, stopped, the light finally turned green and everybody went on their merry way. I thought that it was the coolest thing that I had ever seen. Sorry it was so long but I just thought that it was worth sharing. God bless and have a wonderful day. 👍👍🙂
It always seems to amaze me how quickly something can escalate into a fight. As a society we have lost respect for others. It's nice when you are able to have family close. God Bless
I've said this before, but I REALLY enjoy the 🎶 music you have on your videos, in particular the music on this particular one, with some beautiful 🎸 guitar music !! It reminds me of my late brother who was a very accomplished guitar and banjo player. He was as accomplished as Chet Atkins or Duane Eddy and played professionally both in Rhodesia, South Africa and England. Who is the artist on this clip, Mike ? Thanks and keep up these interesting clips. I so look forward to watching them every week and have been for at least a couple years, or so !! Say "Hi" to Melissa and your growing family. That grandson Beau (Sp ?) is not only good looking but a good eater !! 😉
Melissa you did the right thing!, the people taking videos to put on scocial media are just as stupid as the two fighting!. Road Rage is getting worse across the US!.
You aren’t kidding the road rage is crazy now I think it’s because there is not a real road test now I have seen more stuff get messed up by cars in this past few years than ever before
Hey, Mike! We built a wood-fired sauna and the mill slabs are perfect for firing it up. But I understand the dilemma. We have way too much wood, so we end up giving a lot away. We also like to have the occasional work party with friends, and we pay them with wood.
Good mornin to all the Morgans and a big welcome back to Hanna and Beau. Looks like the wood yard is all freshened up, looks good Mike. Road rage is becoming a thing, I guess. People do stupid things around me out on the road and I just let them go. My wife on the other hand, is always screaming and ready to fight. I've been in fights, back in my younger days, never ends well. Have a day ya'all. Jay from Pa.
My aunt and uncle in their retirement started selling stuff around the state for extra money and she used to find doll babies that shed ckean up And have a table set aside for young kids ti come pick out their favorite doll baby for free. She said surprisingly she couldn’t give them away. My uncle said “ put a price on them abd just see what happens.” So that’s what she did. She started charging 40 dollars a piece abd couldn’t find enough doll babies to fill the demand. Mskes no sense.
First, very jealous of the rain. None here in So. NH for quite some time. As for the road rage, it's amazing how people's personalities change/intensify when they're behind the wheel. Ever been near a bingo when it lets out? Scarier than the Cross Bronx Expressway.
I reckon The Morgans should build a house for Hannah to live on the family plot…….theres plenty of space down by the brick house. It would be a great project for the channel.
Would think someone local with an outdoor wood boiler would be all over free firewood? I would, can’t even find free firewood out here in SoCal anymore. Planning move to our 30 acres in SE OH when I retire in the spring. Love your channel!
I was thinking the other day that "those bladders" would still work as liners for the totes for your small custom firewood, preventing it from falling out.
We're in a Severe drought. Since July we've had 4" of rain and a couple of inches of snow. Burning around here won't happen until we have a solid 2" cover for small slash piles and 6" for large. I only have one slash pile this year and will hold off until next year to burn it as it's mostly fresh cut pine boughs.
Hanna and beau , Beauitful children , great time with them , sorry Melissa had the encounter with the road rage . Mike you thought anymore about color for Your trailer , I like the color black for the floor , easy to patch up , have a great week
Same for me. I had a power washer that ran but it needed some work. I put it out front and put free on it. Sat there for days. Moved it next to the big power pole and chained it to the pole and put $50 on it. Someone came along and cut the chain and took the power washer.
On the road rage, first with so many people carrying, that is just crazy to get into that kind of thing like these two guys. Second, as much driving as your family does, I would recommend putting higher end dash cams in everything, front and back coverage. They can really help protect you if something happens, and on some you could use the video in your stories.
I have a friend that owned a sawmill and put out the word that you could come get slabs for firewood. He used the word (slab) and people would come and be upset that it wasn't cut up in two foot pieces. Go figure. Have fun and stay safe!
Mike, I’m getting a load like that…it goes on my front lawn. 2 years ago I got one, it was 7 cords and I cut split and stacked all by myself in less than 30 days.
Years ago when we camped in Wisconsin state parks, some had concessioner's that sold the slabs for about $3.00 for a metal container for gallon milk jugs. If you have any campgrounds near you could put bundles of camp fire wood as a serve yourself stand out on the road..
I take the slab cuts and flip them on the saw deck for stickers. But you can only use so much of that. And on the free stuff. There was a church that was offering the services of some psychologists for free counseling. The people needing help would show up but that was about all. They started charging and the schedule filled completely up and the people in need of services were compliant with their treatments.
If I had a way to come get them I'd take all ya got here at my farm. All of it red pine, oak, all the mix. I'd use for campfire, and bonfire wood here at the farm, and in my 2 wood burners here at the house. If you could deliver it I'd definitely pay, but I'm about an hr from me. I could possibly also provide a place for the meeting greet / equipment demo events you talked about. My farm could easily accommodate 35 or 40 cars and the front 3 acres could demo the equipment. Just Google Cowman Ranch Austintown Ohio.
I am a huge fan and love watching. I would love to see your property from google earth. I’ve looked everywhere between cranberry and Butler it’s like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Please help. Thanks for all the hard work you put in making the great videos. Please just a hint.😀
My wife and I were coming back from Hot Rod Power tour and saw what sounds like the same thing in Kentucky. However my wife got mad at me because I did not get past the fight quick enough. I wanted to watch the fight, looked like a good one. LOL Ron
"He shows up for breakfast and then takes a nap". Mike, that will be you in a few years and the little guy will be doing the work. 😀 As for the 911 call, you have to be careful doing that, even though is may seem like the right thing to do, because it can come back on you if it goes to court. The road rage person that loses the case now knows who you are. Make sure that you tell the police that you want to remain anonymous. You can let them know that you will make a statement if required. This is just from my 20 years working for a major police force here. Take care and stay safe.
Did you see One Eyed Customs uses his bladders. Cuts the ends off, heat stretches them over the metal part of the crates and then Covers the wood crates after they are full. Seemed like a good idea to keep your wood crates dry and leaf free? But I know you have your hands full. just an idea of others.
Mike- Do you have an outdoor boiler dealer around you? The outdoor boiler people are always looking for cheap wood. Maybe one of these people will drop off a dump trailer and it would be easy to fill up and they could come pick it up. Otherwise your son could make biochar or charcoal from it. Seems like he would be interested in it, or the process. He is a thinking interesting your man. Thanks Mike
We run into the same thing with pole wood when we are logging we bring out nice straight poles put them on fb for sale people message wanting a load so we set up a day and time for delivery then they message saying that day won’t work so we have to cancel the driver for the log truck and start over in the end ain’t worth the headache so we just cut it into firewood ourselves on the processor and they come and get it on our schedule
HEY mike and melissa great video and your section about road rage reminded me of a past incident my wife had. after that time i put good dash cams in both vehicles that covers front and back. very easy to pull 1 minute videos off sd cards if needed. my wife several years ago stopped and was talking to police in similar situation so she could not use her phone to video . we experienced some damage to her vehicle which we had to repair at our cost. in todays crazy world i just felt the dash cams offered an additional level of security where video could be produced of any incident so that would never happen to my wife again.. anyways, cheap investment for her security.-
My stepsons a cop in a small town. A few weeks ago there was a road rage. One guy jumped on the Ryder hood of the other guy that made him mad. He slipped off the hood and under the front tire and got flattened. The living guy drove off because he had been drinking. Another day of nonsense.
Mike, I don't understand and I understand where you're coming from with the the cutoffs and all that and the slabs, but why not take the slabs cut them down to 12 inches long? And put them on your rat machine and sell them that way. Especially the Pi met Markham so that they're pine. And for outdoor use only and see what you can do that way. You got the slab machine. I don't understand why you're not using the slabs that way, just a suggestion even though the? Red oaks and all the other slabs that you get when you're using the saw mill. Make them in the friggin fire whipped bundles with the slab machine. Just a suggestion and then try so on that way. Alright, this is Bob from Vero Beach Florida. God bless and say say and happy holidays to everybody. And glad to see your daughter is working with you now too. And help me out and bow.Alright, love you all keep up the good videos as always. And wish you would still put out more like you used to want today but I understand okay bye
Strange that you mention you can not give it away. It has been years ago, we had an ice storm that brought down a lot of big limbs, I had on my property at the time that were 18”+ diameter. Also had lots of trees down. Due to an asthmatic daughter, we did not do indoor fires. I offered to some folks that I knew burnt wood free wood. Maybe there was so much that it was readily available but they would not come get free wood--much was cut into 16” lengths (not split) so I could get it out of the yard. I did give away some split to folks that were struggling financially. But most went to bon fires at the house, or burnt ti get rid of it.
Some days those grandkids can become the scrapbook kings of PA. (Maybe) we've watched for years and are understanding why it is this way. But here in E. Tenn and west N. C. We have had a trillion feet of good wood washed away by Helene! So for five or so years there is going to be a huge shortage of wood supply.
Slab wood is a great burn. Load the stove up, get a good burn going, then shut it down. The key is the pile of coals to supply the heat . Costumer waiting list for the product !!!!
Wood yard looks a lot better and very tidy. Nothing like having an organized work area. Good job Mike and the idiots with the road rage stupid people do stupid things with stupid outcomes…. Stay Safe 🇺🇸👊🏼👊🏼✌🏼🔨🪚

Regarding road rage - Out celebrating on my 21st birthday with my best friend and our dates. We were jumped by 4 guys. Ending up fighting one. At 6' 1" I was a strong, agile, athletic, tough guy. My point for telling this story here is today at 70 (still in decent shape for age) I said to my wife, just recently, I'm a little concerned that I'm pretty sure I no longer have the ability to protect us especially in today's angry world.
The slabs I have, I save, then when I have enough I stack them vertically on the saw mill and make 1" cuts for stickers. I take the cuts still with the bark and burn them. The good 1X1s I cut get made into stickers or kindling. I figure I get maybe 10% to 15% waste, so most of the log is made into something usable.
When you think about it hurricane Helene destroyed more wood in one day than you could in 10 lifetimes. You use 90% of your wood I think you’re doing just fine.
The old analogy story - If you have free coffee at work you find half full cups everywhere if you charge 25 cents it is valued and less wasted. Thanks Take care all
You are exactly right...a thing has value or it does not. Even when something could hold value to someone else...when it is priced at 'free'...it no longer retains that value, even to someone else.
Mike I agree with you on the free thing. Last summer I had 10 nice wood pallets that I had no use for. I stacked them out by the road and put a big sign on them that said "Free".
Mike, have you been out archery hunting? Nice looking 10 point running around your place. 🙂 thanks for the Saturday morning video from NW Pa. ☕️🦌
LOL Ron
Lol
Hey Mike and Melissa,
You think the road rage is bad THERE, you should come to California. It's NUTS OUT HERE!!!!
Lord put a hedge of protection around the family of Morgan’s in Jesus name, we must all continue to pray for Gods protection and presence.
congratulations on a wonderful grand childl
Mike-
Do you have an outdoor boiler dealer around you?
If your log supplier does mulching, ask if they want the slabs and maybe negotiate a discount on your log deliveries.
Hello! 😊 Welcome Hanna & Bo !

How's David?
It's nice to get introduced to the Big Brain as named in a recent movies "Idocracy" and "Pulp Fiction" behind your channel. Bo [sic] will go far!
Man… over the guard rail , that’s rough !! But look on the bright side at least the candy truck was not harmed.
Huh…work two hours and then nap. Sounds like baby Beau has got it figured out!
Don't Adler have a chipper ?? Maybe they could make mulch out of your slabs ???
Good morning everyone!!
Wood yard looks a lot better and very tidy. Nothing like having an organized work area. Good job Mike and the idiots with the road rage stupid people do stupid things with stupid outcomes….

Good morning! New subscriber here!
I have been binge watching your videos for the last 3 days, I’m hooked!
I am a Stihl chainsaw tech from Ontario, Canada.
Your videos have inspired me to order a load of oak logs and a new wood splitter and start cutting and splitting wood!
Excellent videos and great editing!
Looking forward to your next video, Mike!
Oh welcome !
That is so cool you are binge watching the videos
Welcome aboard!
@@OutdoorsWithTheMorgans Thank you Mike and Mellisa for the great content. I am a UA-cam creator (on a much smaller scale than you!) and your video content and editing fill me with inspiration!
Couches on the curb are the same way. Put a FREE sign on it and it won’t move. Put a Price on it and it’ll disappear.
The Amish sawmill next door to me sells the slabs cheap or free in some cases to the poor here in rural TN for firewood.
Glad you are safe , Melissa . Welcome to the job Hanna and Bo . Seeya
Bo reminds me of the “success kid” baby with the closed fist. Lol
Good morning Mike! Your right about the wood to burn you win time.
Road rage is so stupid, lowest form of humanity, violence.
